I am a blogger, and also a lover of all things DISNEY. I am from Michigan but transplanted to Arizona for the last 6 years. I've been to Disneyworld lots growing up but there's something more quaint and special about Disneyland

ARIZONA AP HOLDERS:Do you have the deluxe pass or the premium? I'm thinking since we drive and live further it may be worth paying the $669. for no blackouts. Also, do you tend to stay in the same hotel when you go or switch it up a bit? Just curious to see what other AZ families do to get their money's worth for an AP. We had one years ago, and want to get them again.  THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!  More...
I'm in AZ and have a premium so that we don't have to schedule our trips around blackout dates. We generally stay at the Disney hotel if it's planned well in advance but if we happen to go last minute, we stay at the hojo.  - MandyPooh  434.5 #407 12:56PM
We are AZ too and have premiums since we have kids in school. We do 4 trips a year (usually) and stay at the Grand or Dland Hotel. We tend to book far enough in advance to get a good discount.  - mommalostone  42.8 #4419 1:43PM
Once I save up enough, I'm definitely getting premium. It's way worth it, especially if you plan going weekends like I am. I believe it'll be well worth it, especially since you will only have to go 3 times a year to get your moneys worth.  - princessvg  33.3 #4846 1:14PM
Also-- sometimes we drive friday after school, go all day saturday, and drive home on Sunday. If you think that's something you'd like to do, get premium :) - princessvg  33.3 #4846 1:16PM
Yeah, premium makes sense since we have kids in school and need to utilize weekends. We had such an awesome time at the Dland hotel this time. I hope we can stay at a DLR resort at least twice a year. Once I start working full time, that's the first thing my paycheck is going towards, lol. - DisneyLuva4Life  22.4 #5724 1:59PM

Thankful for extended forecasts so that we were able to avoid the rain for my son's cast. We originally would have been in the parks today, yesterday, and Thursday. I would have loved less traffic & shorter lines, but not so much his orthopeadic surgeon. Hope all of you in the parks have a GREAT day today.
Have fun!!!...hope the arm gets better soon little man!! - CVDisneyland  279.3 #900 1:37PM

Awwe. Poor little guy. That's going to be us in 21 days. My daughter just broke her arm 2 days ago.  - kclouie  3.1 #33453 1:56PM
kclouie....she will be fine, it barely effected him. Unless your daughter is older. We were advised no jerky rides, so Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Matterhorn, TOT, Cali Screamin, Goofy's Flight School were all out of the picture. But he is only 6, so he didn't mind at all. We had a GREAT time. Saw all the parades and shows and we walked 27 miles in 3 days and he kept right up! - DisneyLuva4Life  22.4 #5724 2:49PM
What a trooper!! But at that age it's hard to slow them down. Thanks for the info. My daughter is 7, she'll be fine just like your little guy.  - kclouie  3.1 #33453 7:30PM

Has anyone taken their son or daughter to DLR with an arm cast? My son broke his arm last night, got splinted and most likely will get casted next Tuesday. We are suppose to leave on that following Tuesday, Feb 25th for 3 days in the parks. He has a sling. He is only 6, so we don't go on lots of crazy rides. POTC is his favorite. Any ideas? Advice? Would be greatly appreciated.
A good idea to make him feel better and have a fun day is to get the characters to sign his cast!  It might make the emotional part of the day that much easier. - Sarafina  421.5 #431 11:28AM
This is such a cool idea! I second this! - missmimi90  1301.8 #85 2:33PM

Once upon a time I stuck my hand in a running brake lathe and was lucky enough to not rip my hand off and only break a bone in my palm. Since I was out of work for a few weeks, of course I went to Disneyland and I had a swell ol' time. As long as he's not in pain, I think he'll have a swell ol' time - Philliprocks  615.9 #242 9:24AM

Thanks so much guys!! He's only splinted right now. However, if he gets casted next Tuesday we are going to consider keeping our trip as is. I think the best thing about our trip in 23 days is that our children don't know ANYTHING about it!! :) I'm going to get them into the van and tell them we have to go to the pediatrician or something awful like that and then break the real news. They seriously have no clue!!

Question: I updated to the Android Platinum version via the play store. A week later I ended up getting a newer the ads are back :( How do I solve this issue? Thanks in advanced.

I know a week or so ago I posted about getting a room at the HoJo. However, with the go-ahead of the hubby and the awesome layaway option at Getaway Today, I just booked us at PARADISE PIER!!!! I know this is the Disney "Value" resort, but we are just SO excited. I've stayed at Disney resorts at WDW as a child, but never ever at DLR. Has anybody done the concierge service at PP? Do you think it's   More...
I love getaway today! - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  525.0 #307 9:17PM
We did.  I have mixed feelings about it. Breakfast was cereal, pastries, some fresh fruit, juices, coffee. That would be a benefit if you have kids. Just us two.  Snacks was meh... Chex mix, goldfish, Doritos, or Cheetos, fruit. Appetizers for the evening was a hot one. Varied each evening. Cookies, fruit, choc strawberries each night. The appetizer hours kind of blended with the dessert hour. The coffee is weak, but the one day the espresso machine worked, we were able to blend one of its pods, with coffee to make a decent cup.  The water are tiny bottles, so we just poured them into our camelbacks. Took a couple of sodas into the park and just asked for ice.  It closed at 8pm, so the hours weren't long enough in my opinion. We had to do room service one night. Everything in the parks, DTD was closed, and we were starved.  We did like the beer and wine part, but only had a couple the entire time we were there.  It was nice when hubs wore out and we needed to go rest in the room. I went and got some snacks. You could take stuff back to your room, so that was nice. Includ beer/wine. Would I do it again, probably because I like the niceties, but I'm not sure it was a great value compared to bringing stuff from home. I would be just as happy with my keurig, and my snacks. - Sugarbuzz  112.7 #3107 9:27PM

We didn't pay for it, so I don't know if the value is equal to just bringing your own.  One night, we were watching WOC from the suite and a couple of us headed down to concierge.  They were about to close so they let us take as much as we wanted back up to the room.  Hot chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries galore!  πŸ˜„ - bluefairy  641.9 #227 9:47PM
Oh yes. I forgot about the $50.00...I was so excited when I booked. I forgot, $75.00 will deduct from trip cost. All I know is that I paid $125.00 today, lol. - DisneyLuva4Life  22.4 #5724 9:58PM
I've booked from getaway today both last year and again for our trip coming in November. We love it. We have stayed at the best western near the grand Californian. We pay the upfront down payment then set up a monthly payment plan and boom, there it is and we have our packet with our hotel, park hopper, and character dining conformations all you have to do is call and make the reservations for dining. - roko81  6.3 #11931 10:02PM
