Wanted to do a special little weekend trip with my son in 2 wks...really nervous because of all of the measle outbreaks. 13 new cases confirmed this week. My son & I are vaccinated. I just wonder if this just keeps spreading or if infected ppl are returning to the parks?? Am I the only one that worries about this?

The way I see it is no matter where you go there is a chance to get measles or any other communicable disease. So why worry just go have fun wash your hands and take hand sanitizer  - grumpyinphx  969.2 #233 8:06AM
You are so right. you can pick it up any where. - keepmovingforward  275.9 #1248 10:17AM
Since you're vaccinated you will be fine.  - DisneyGrandma  891.8 #250 8:00AM
All the confirmed cases are from exposure in December. There isn't a danger now, we're just hearing about it now because there's a 2 week incubation period, then all the cases have to be linked and then the common denominator (trips to DLR) needs to be defined.  - 1HitchhikingGhost  309.5 #988 10:20AM
Thanks all!! I actually did get a titer 2 yrs ago, I forgot all about that. Well, we got a SUPER cheap room at Portofino Inn during their 48 hr sale, so I'm not giving that up..and gotta get use out of our AP's. I think we'll be fine. Thanks for calming my fears.  - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6780 10:35AM

Has anyone navigated DLR or DCA with a knee scooter? We are going into the parks on Jan 29th. I had ankle surgery and although I should be walking in my boot by that time, I figured I'd just bring my knee scooter just in case. My legs are very strong and I don't get tired on it. Just wondering other people's experiences.

Those are safer than one of the electric vehicles that people drive way to fast in the parks!  - sawman911  5218.4 #31 8:30AM
You might call Guest Relations (714) 781-4565. I have NEVER seen one in the parks and it would be my guess that they are not allowed and you will be asked to use a wheel chair or scooter.  - Melody_CM  39940.6 #2 7:42AM
I have had good luck with apple scooter - disneybob49  1586.2 #138 9:20AM
It was interesting that one time we had to rent one...we used a local Anaheim company, but we were staying at a hotel on the second floor with NO elevators, lol. I'm lucky the owners let me charge and store it in their lobby. Such a hassel. I'll be fine with my knee scooter.  - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6780 9:30AM

Idk how I didn't know about these monthly themed Disney keepsake ornaments at Hallmark!! So glad I had some time to pop in there today before a movie. I got the adorable stand too. This month (first month) is beach Minnie, SO cute. Who else started their collection?

Question: I simply cannot wait to purchase our tickets to our first ever, "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party." With that being said, I have a Disney Rewards Visa Debit card, not the credit card. Can I still do advanced purchase on July 16th? Thanks!

Anyone know???? - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6780 10:18AM
You can try on the 16th most cards are able to run as a credit card even if it's debit as long as it has that star link logo on the back i believe but it won't sell out to preview salesit sets a ccertain amounts for them  - pikaplaid  8126.7 #16 10:40AM

OMG!!! Booked my family for our first Disney Cruise on the Wonder for the San Diego October 2015 sail date!!! Getaway Today is offering 50% off the deposit which makes it really affordable to book now. There are only 6 San Diego sail dates for fall of 2015. What a savings for us living out West :)

Hmm.. - APirateslifeforme31  170.3 #2573 10:18AM
We did a 5 night. They also have a couple 3 night cruise and a 2 night (that is JUST not enough time) ;) The cruise goes to Ensenada and Cabo. For us, this saves about $2500.00 on airfare to FLA for a Caribbean Cruise. My kids are young enough where cruise stops aren't really a major thing, being on the boat itself is. It's a really great value.  - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6780 10:26AM

Do any of you go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party AND have a child with nut allergies? We are going this year. I want them to trick or treat, but I've seen from photos that there are a ton of candies with nuts. Guess I could just hold my daughter's candy bag and then sort it later. Hmm

They have other options too like gold fish and fruit snaks instead of candy I did that with my mini so she didn't have a lot of candy  - DisneyStar  30.5 #0 12:08PM

ARIZONA AP HOLDERS:Do you have the deluxe pass or the premium? I'm thinking since we drive and live further it may be worth paying the $669. for no blackouts. Also, do you tend to stay in the same hotel when you go or switch it up a bit? Just curious to see what other AZ families do to get their money's worth for an AP. We had one years ago, and want to get them again.  THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!  More...

I'm in AZ and have a premium so that we don't have to schedule our trips around blackout dates. We generally stay at the Disney hotel if it's planned well in advance but if we happen to go last minute, we stay at the hojo.  - MandyPooh  480.9 #516 12:56PM
We are AZ too and have premiums since we have kids in school. We do 4 trips a year (usually) and stay at the Grand or Dland Hotel. We tend to book far enough in advance to get a good discount.  - mommalostone  64.5 #4609 1:43PM
Once I save up enough, I'm definitely getting premium. It's way worth it, especially if you plan going weekends like I am. I believe it'll be well worth it, especially since you will only have to go 3 times a year to get your moneys worth.  - princessvg  46.1 #5342 1:14PM
Also-- sometimes we drive friday after school, go all day saturday, and drive home on Sunday. If you think that's something you'd like to do, get premium :) - princessvg  46.1 #5342 1:16PM
Yeah, premium makes sense since we have kids in school and need to utilize weekends. We had such an awesome time at the Dland hotel this time. I hope we can stay at a DLR resort at least twice a year. Once I start working full time, that's the first thing my paycheck is going towards, lol. - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6780 1:59PM

Thankful for extended forecasts so that we were able to avoid the rain for my son's cast. We originally would have been in the parks today, yesterday, and Thursday. I would have loved less traffic & shorter lines, but not so much his orthopeadic surgeon. Hope all of you in the parks have a GREAT day today.

Have fun!!!...hope the arm gets better soon little man!! - CVDisneyland  479.9 #519 1:37PM

Awwe. Poor little guy. That's going to be us in 21 days. My daughter just broke her arm 2 days ago.  - kclouie  3.1 #41162 1:56PM
kclouie....she will be fine, it barely effected him. Unless your daughter is older. We were advised no jerky rides, so Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Matterhorn, TOT, Cali Screamin, Goofy's Flight School were all out of the picture. But he is only 6, so he didn't mind at all. We had a GREAT time. Saw all the parades and shows and we walked 27 miles in 3 days and he kept right up! - DisneyLuva4Life  28.0 #6780 2:49PM
