Hello MWers. I have been a member of MW for a bit but havent really posted much. I wanted to thank you all so much - the last 18 months have been rough financially for my family, dealing with a lay off and an unexpected out of state move has been hard. Once we were going to DL very often to having to really watch every penny just to cover basics.

Hey guys. Can anyone help me with how long the walk is from Paradise Pier to the main gate. Just worried about my 5 year old.
Also - whats everyone's view on the dining program - waste of money or more magic?

You can cross the street and enter DTD through the Grand, I think. It's not a long walk at all, IMO. Similar to walking from the DL Hotel to the main gate. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I am curious about this too...we usually stay at The Tropicana and not recently at The Portofino Inn...this next trip we are at Paradise Pier :) So excited, first time staying in a DL hotel! Will the walk be longer than those were? The same? Etc - lynniesue42

Question for you experts - we are thinking about going to DLR the Sunday after Thanksgiving for a few days. Will it be changed to Christmas? How are the crowds? My daughters favorite ride is Small World, will that be open?

They start changing the park to Christmas on Nov 1 it takes a couple of weeks but it will be Christmas before Thanksgiving. - Jimineycricket

Christmas decorations will be complete on November 18th. I've personally never been on that day but it's been my experience that the weekends are busier when kids are in school again. So if you can wait until the following Monday, I would. I hope you all enjoy it. It's more magical than ever...if that's even possible! - Tweedle_Deedee
