I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was 16. I have been a certified Disney addict since I was 22. I live a 24 hr drive from Disneyland, but I would be ready to go with just a minutes notice.

If I remember correctly, I heard from here in the lounge that City Hall has a list of Gluten Free foods offered around the parks. Or it might have been a list of the restaurants that offer gluten free foods. But tiggertwin is right, ask to speak to the chefs :) - rbeezy  653.5 #159 10:13PM

For a 5 yr old bring a stroller. All the walking is tough on even an adult. Even if the stroller mostly gets used for u're bags n your child just sits in it while u're waiting in line u'll b happy u have it. Also go back to the hotel for a swim n nap in early afternoon n then go back to the park for the evening. And important, bring snacks n drinks to have in line.
Hi, if you stay at a hotel that qualifies for magic morning hours you really want to take advantage of those times. The morning are less busy. Try and ride some of the bigger rides then. You for sure want to get as many fast passes as possible. You can use the past past after the allotted time on the ticket, but not before. Keep if for a busy time during the day. Crowds will die down after the nighttime shows are over. It'll be hot in the middle of the day, that's a good time for inside attractions like Mr. Lincoln in DL and the Animation building, or Playhouse Disney in DCA. You'll want to measure your child to determin how tall they are know which attractions you can ride and which you'll need a rider swap. You can ask the CM for one. Check MW often for wait times. For food, there's a lot of really yummy options. Check out the food section. Don't be afraid to ask if you have more questions. :) You'll have a great time. - Mrs.mouse  419.7 #306 4:37AM
We went in July a couple of years ago from Australia. Expect big crowds but the parks are open longer hours often till 1 in the morning so if with kids can have a rest in hotel room if close by in the afternoon then come back. Park hopper ticket well worth it too as easy to go between parks even get fastpast for ride in DL then go to DCA. Definatly will need to use the fast pass system to be able to get to all the big rides since the parks will be busy. We're heading back this year for Halloween .... Can't wait! - anniemc  218.5 #1370 4:13AM
For the park hopper tickets, do u have to wait inline again between parks? or do u just walk straight in? - disneydreaming2012  0.1 #73211 1:31PM
you must wait in line with everyone else - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1757.6 #43 1:32PM

U don't need reservations. But u may not get a spot. If u don't have a reservation. Go to the restaraunt early in the day n ask for a time.

I always loose 5 pounds from all the walking. I also drink water only n snack on fruit everyday.
you should check out the chub 33 section of mw!! a lot of us are on WW. I just joined about a month ago and have found eating at the park fairly easy. There are a lot of no point options at the fruit carts and you are able to get vegetable skewars at bengal bbq, and for actual meals i'll try to get a salad or if i do get a sandwich i'll take off the top bread. some points i've found/calculated, churro is 6 pts, dole whip is 1pt, float is 3. - JenInWonderland  1025.1 #86 5:59PM
dang girl you are on top of those calculations! TOTALLLY agree about bengal BBQ, such a nice treat:) - BooEve123  800.3 #115 6:00PM
the rest of my post got cut off...but i was saying to wear a pedometer to get your activity points...i walked 11.5 miles 10 hours at dl and got 12 activity points! - JenInWonderland  1025.1 #86 6:02PM
How do I get into this forum? I am so confused on chub33! - Minnis2Society  360.0 #388 6:33PM
Dole whip is only 1 point!?!? That's great! More of them. - jjdq  326.7 #488 11:20PM
Be careful with a pedometer. Turn it off on rides. Some rides (like Indy) could add lots of steps due to the bumpiness. Could add up to a false mileage. - LilSterner  2655.9 #17 7:34PM
I'd bring snacks that you eat throughout the day, you'll be least likely to be tempted if you stay full, and drink lots of water. A low sodium beef jerky is what I like to snack on! - madsdad  1119.6 #73 5:55PM

I'm with you, homemade venison is the best! The only jerky my son will eat is my dads lol. So you know it must be good! - tigntink  179.3 #1869 8:34PM
I have two thoughts on this. One, it takes your body three days to notice a change in your habits so if you go enjoy your trip and come home and go strict back on your plan you will be fine. With that said, if you aren't far enough along, three days can take you out of your routine making it harder to get back to basics. If that is where you are at, just remember to count your points, eat smart and for the love don't beat yourself up. The biggest mistake you can make is to self destruct. Enjoy your trip and stay mentally strong so that no matter what you are right back on track. - DlandDude  259.5 #910 7:21PM
