Thanks for your thoughts! I competed in the 5k for the first time the lpast weekend. I wanted to get healthy and try something new and my love for Disney inspired me to do the RunDisney event. I trained all by myself and ran the 5k by myself. I had no one greeting me at the finish line. I was still so moved and had such a great time that I have signed up for the Tinkerbell 10k in January. I've onl  More...
This is awesome! I have been pretty active most of my life but after college I stopped being active. I joined MW and saw people running the Tink half a d decided that I would do it next year. I had never run a race or any running event and I went for the big one! I finished in just over 3 hrs and was so proud I myself and now I'm a run disney fan and want to go further with my fitness and maybe do a full marathon😳. This community is amazing support and I'm so proud of everyone who takes the leap to run any of the events. They are all a personal challenge. Thank you run disney for getting people moving! 😊 - CourtyAstroBlisters  660.0 #247 5:51PM
Thanks for posting this, Dave - encouraging to others to pursue their goals, despite adversity.  Sometimes our MW lives don't always tell the true story of our own personal struggles and perseverance. - Alicewhoareyou  954.8 #152 11:00PM
You and Rum are pretty awesome guys, Dave. So glad to have gotten to know you both over the years. And very proud of you! - LBChica  2008.5 #56 10:09PM
From that moment that I saw you & YTR 3 years ago running while I was volunteering for the half, I KNEW I had to do it eventually. I've had my fair share of long distance runs during my middle school til Β now college years, that never had a single half marathon runΒ in all that I've been in. Last weekend, It was one of my proudest moments, with minimal training getting back into it... I got my expected time and I'm truly happy to know that I still have the running distance that I still had before. Now I'm really training and hoping to beat my time in January, and I'm extremely looking forward to it!Β Congrats again my friend and here's to more to come! - iPoca.  916.9 #159 11:46PM

Any advice on the race itself? Should I bring a camera or phone on the course? I know I can check a bag, anything I should make sure I bring? Are there characters on the race course? I am so excited that my first race is Disney, I've already got my costume ready to go!
Wear running gear you are comfortable in and works great for you. Don't be tempted by things you may buy at the expo and wear them come race day. You will regret it. I have never done anything less then a half so I'm sure you will just have a blast running the 5k! Remember to enjoy yourself! I'm doing the Tink 10k and excited to something a Lil shorter and less stressful πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - CourtyAstroBlisters  660.0 #247 6:32PM

The half is going to be more of the race for me. The 10k is going to be where I take pictures and go at a leisurely pace. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  614.1 #274 6:41PM
Ya next year I'm doing the half again! It's too hard with all my wedding finances to pay $200 for the half when I signed up! The 10k was much more reasonable! - CourtyAstroBlisters  660.0 #247 6:56PM
I can imagine. Weddings are expensive! I have my first half in less than a month. I'm quite nervous, but excited too! - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  614.1 #274 7:00PM
A couple of helpful suggestions: wear appropriate footwear and break them in before you run this event. Wear light comfortable and appropriate clothing. Finally hydrate a day before the event. Have fun! - BombFrogCM  686.0 #228 6:37PM
Does anyone know if the time limit is enforced for the 5k? I've heard some people say its more relaxed and some say that it's still enforced. - dhBelle04  279.1 #924 8:52PM

I saw the regional premiere of the Broadway Aladdin. It was AMAZING!! I really loved the new songs they added. The one I saw also had 3D animation for the cave of wonders. The addition of the three narrators was so funny too! Can't wait to see it again!

They are just opening the Art of Animation. Its a value resort too and definitely a good disney experience. I'm heading there in Aug. for my first time and we are staying 6 nights at the caribbean beach resort. It will be hot and busy but I'm sure it will be worth it!

I booked out trip at the Pop Century resort. We check in on Friday and are there for a week. I believe our hotel averaged $140 a night plus tax and fees. But we booked the whole package through Disney Vacations. We did 8 days of park hopper tickets, the dining plan, and 7 nights hotel. Just call WDW and have them price out a package for you. If you want cheaper hotels there are non-Disney hotels on Disney property that are less expensive. - Jaimz  651.4 #250 8:58PM

We are staying at the caribbean beach resort in Aug. We have a dining plan and have made reservations at chef mickeys. I checked with the mw Florida crew too ..but I was hoping some dl mwers have some tips too
The dining plan is wonderful and I wouldn't do it any other way.  My advice--use the extra hours to get the best use of your time.  Moving between parks is made easy but don't try and do more than two a day or your feet may fall off by the end of your trip.  Everest is the best ride--ToT is way better in WDW.  If you like mini-golfing the courses on the resort are all really fun!  When you do the Wildlife Park--do the safari first thing in the morning--more animals are out and about --not sleeping yet!!  Have a great time! - missyandpaul  268.0 #1042 12:24AM

Are you staying at a WDW resort? When is your vacation and for how long? - Lelundrial  458.5 #400 6:35PM

I'm a veteran of hundreds of trips to WDW. Been going there since 1975. Take my advice and buy the book called "The Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World". It's like the bible for WDW. It will save you so much time. It is chocked full of so much need-to-know information. - wg4ever  307.7 #752 12:31AM

I got most of my points through the facebook trivia. Check it out!
The fastest & most helpful & rewarding way to earn MW rank points is by entering accurate wait times while in the parks. If you are unable to contribute this way, the MW Facebook Trivia is the next best way. πŸ˜ƒ - SergZak  3125.8 #29 9:18PM

FYI: It is posted in the FAQ that Admin no longer gives point for RAKs. - Dahulagirl  1054.9 #135 9:47PM
Thanks DH! - PrinceTeaJack  912.0 #160 9:51PM
Good! If you get something for doing something it's not a random act it's a give an take. Raks should be give only. Never take! - ImAlwaysCrazy  671.7 #241 9:53PM
I think he meant that some RAK ask for you to have 50 points or more to qualify to at least enter, not that he wanted more points through RAKs - sleepyhead_CM  572.1 #299 10:08PM
I only post and comment plus wait times soon... It's tough to raise your MW points this way but I like to do things the hard way. I don't own nor do I want to own a Facebook drama page for MW points. Your doing great so far πŸ˜ƒ keep it up🎈 As for those that ask for a high amount of rank obviously doesn't remember having a low rank and doesn't remember that a True RAK doesn't exclude it's just out of Kindness for all. I obviously don't enter those ones but that's ok I do RAK's and co- RAK all the time without restrictions πŸ˜ƒβœ¨βœ¨βœ¨ Just a heads up! I will be doing a RAK this week if you need a lanyard, stay tuned to my post 😊 - Singh2011  183.3 #2062 10:20PM
Don't forget that people just pop up in here trying to win stuff and are not a part of the community. Doing a RAK for someone who contributes to this community is a good idea because it encourages folks to stick around. Always two sides to a perspective! - madsdad  1800.8 #66 10:29PM
Yes so true. I was sad when those people ruin the one in the lockers I thought it was sweet and the day we wanted to try an in park locker they took all of the stuff out of a locker on a previous day 😞 so we decided to do one on MW that day instead 😞 - Singh2011  183.3 #2062 10:45PM
Enter wait times and contribute in a positive manner in the lounge. It is the life blood of this app. Sometimes I come to the park alone just to enter wait times. Without it, MW is just like all the rest. With that, it's the most accurate and in depth Disney app in all of the land. - Ricko19  818.1 #182 10:50PM

Read what? I'm just re-iterating the importants of wait times. Thousands of people check the wait times each day, a couple hundred enter times. Just think if more people did, we'd take over the world!! - Ricko19  818.1 #182 10:59PM

It's at the Tuacahn amphitheatre. It's an outdoor theater set in the red rocks. It's awesome cause they use live animals. I saw pictures and the narrators are on camel back!! Last year they did so well Little Mermaid completely sold out the entire season

I brought a bunch of napkins back on purpose. As a joke for my first graders I served them snack on the napkins to see if they noticed. Their reaction was priceless. Some actually saved the napkin! :)
I always pick up the daily schedules. It's not even to check the times of shows...it's just to collect I guess I'm a little OCD lol! Also I grab a lot of napkins when I'm near the dispenser in case I need them so I stash them in my backpack - princessVanessa  384.3 #497 8:57PM

I always have Disney napkins in my ackpack. The parking passes are in a neat pie on my dashboard. Maps galore- I laminated one from each park and they are on a wall at my office for the kids to look and pay with.  - Plumiegirl  7805.9 #3 9:04PM

I have used the so cal discount before. My family lives down there and they can buy my tickets with their id. It use to be 6 tickets they could purchase. I never had to show id to get in.
You don't not need your ID to enter the parks. - Bambi.  602.3 #279 5:13PM
I've heard mixed reviews on that. Some people say they were asked to show proof of residence and some weren't. I wouldn't risk it because if they did get asked for proof, there goes all the money you spent on the tickets. I wouldn't do it for Karma reasons. It's supposed to be a deal for residents to enjoy the park, not for everyone to buy out of town relatives cheap tickets.
- LaneSparrow316  847.0 #174 5:19PM
From the Disney Parks Website: "The offer is limited to residents of Southern California (zip codes 90000-93599) and North Baja California (21000-22999)." If you don’t live in Southern California, we recently shared news of a special ticket for you. You can purchase the 3-day park-hopper ticket for $169. The 3-day ticket is available online at Disneyland.com/3days, or by calling 866-59-DISNEY. You can purchase the 3-day tickets from now through April 14, 2011, and you must purchase them before leaving home as this offer is not available at the ticket booths. Tickets must be used within 13 days of the first day of use and the first day of use must be no later than April 14, 2011." - LaneSparrow316  847.0 #174 5:21PM
2011? I think that is old info. The info I found was that 3 day Park hoppers are $214, or $199 (but this one has blackout dates). Shoot, if they are $169 I missed out! - PrincessKristin  780.2 #196 5:29PM
That's an old deal. The 2012 deal was $199 for a 3 day hopper. We did that then added a fourth day for 20 bucks a piece. - PeachKay  311.1 #733 7:17PM
I have bought tickets at Von's that are for local residents, but they do not ask when you use them. If you buy the tickets at the Dland ticket booth, they may ask you for proof that you live in SoCal(I'd, Mail addressed to you) - garrlusdland  67.6 #3865 7:26PM
