I hope I'm posting in the right place...any tips for a friend heading to DCA for one day next week, not staying on property and wanting to do radiator springs racers as quickly as possible? They will be there wed or thurs next week. Thanks for any tips in advance.

Well if they are planning to park on Disney property the lots only open an hour before park opening, so I would suggest getting there a little more than an hour early to park right when the lot opens and then make their way to the parks to wait in line, - lohofosho 331.8 #478 10:58AM

Our first day will be Thursday and our only opportunity to get in an hour early. We will have to get our e tickets converted to Disney tickets. Do the ticket booths open an hour early too or are we out of luck?
By eticket do you mean the page with the barcode you print out after purchasing your ticket online? You don't need to take them to the ticket booth - just present them to the "ticket-taker" at the gate. They will exchange the paper for a "real" ticket. That's my experience, at least. - jmgphx

I made my first post a few days ago and then read the rules and realized I didn't introduce myself. We will be in DL next week. Anyone know if the fast passes for the radiator springs racers are "selling out" during week days? Also, does anyone know how long it typically takes to get through the fast pass line? Can't wait for our trip! :)
People have been lined up when the park opens and the line is about an hour long.... and they are gone by 11 am, even on weekdays.

The wait to go on the ride WITH the FP is quite shorter than without. You may wait around 5-10 minutes if not a little longer. If you don't want to wait in line for the FP there is often times a single rider line that is only 20/25-30 minute wait. - Donaldfan_532 227.2 #1303 9:57AM
We stayed at the grand Californian a week ago for a week. Surprisingly it is still crowded. The hotel check in guy (Randy) gave some awesome tips. Go into CA early morning entry, straight to Radiator springs, ride the ride.... Then go straight to fast pass( doesn't open until 9) to get your pass to ride later. He said to stop by RS at dusk because it is pretty cool when the lights go on. And riding it at night is a different experience. Disneyland was differently not nearly as crowded. We got to stay on the rides and keep rising because no one was in line. Have fun!!!! It looks awesome for Halloween! - Braesmom07

the wait to get in through their entrance is never very long but I have heard some mutterings lately of it not being open when the park is. you can confirm or deny that with a quick front desk call though. have fun on your trip! - howdyhowdyhowdy

When we stayed at GC we would go down about 15 til early morning opening and there was always a line. Friday for sure the line doubled back. But why better than using front entrance. I thought early morning was so worth it. Got awesome pics with Mater and Lightn McQueen. Also got a great shot of my son solo in front of Disneyland castle. We stayed a week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! We live 10 min away and are planning our next trip for end of October. Has anyone stayed at the remodeled Disneyland hotel? The rooms are beautiful, the headboards and the bolsters are elegant and magical. It's also bigger than the grand, which is great if you have more than 2 people in your room. - bluefairy 628.8 #175 10:52AM
The DLH is beautiful, but recently we decided that we prefer the Grand for two main reasons: 1) we love being right next to DCA--it's convenient and fun to watch things going on in the park; 2) we love sleeping with the windows open and sitting out on the balconies at the Grand.
