Surprising my daughter with a birthday trip to Southern California for her 8th birthday. Someone please talk me into going to disneyland just for a day. I soooo want to go, but not sure I can justify the price tag for just a day--we usually go for at least three days to get our money's worth. It would be child abuse not to take her during the 60th anniversary celebration, right?!!!!

If you can do a full day, I say go for it. You can get discounted tickets through - GoofyMom77  687.7 #262 6:01PM
I know what u mean. I take my God daughter for her bday every year but im a AP holder so i only biy her a ticket but makes me want to buy the cheapest Pass Lol to get my moneys worth Lol. But its her bday and if u dont go often i say go its worth it 😊 - iLOVELUCYnDISNEY  887.1 #186 9:52PM
Hopefully, you can make it. If you can't, I'm sure you can spoil her in other creative ways to make her day special πŸŽπŸ˜‰ - RapunzelledColey  125.9 #3008 12:19AM

I apologize if this is a repeat question, but I didn't see it and can't find a definite answer online...anyone know a date for the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? My husband just found out he's going to be on a business trip in irvine next month and the family could go with him and only have to pay for food and the Disneyland ticket price!!! This is my daughter's favorite ride and I'm   More...

Yeah it won't be open next month. But there are many more attractions to enjoy and I'm sure it will still be a great time.  - RickChavez  3521.9 #37 9:58AM
Thank you. She's just barely tall enough now for California screamin' so she'll be super excited about that! Not that she won't be thrilled about going any way. I hope my post didn't sound ungrateful. This will be our third fall in a row for going. So thrilled!!!! :) - molladoodle  7.8 #12055 10:01AM

I hope I'm posting in the right place...any tips for a friend heading to DCA for one day next week, not staying on property and wanting to do radiator springs racers as quickly as possible? They will be there wed or thurs next week. Thanks for any tips in advance.

if they want to go on quickly without a fastpass, I would suggest using the single rider line - Villescas8  601.0 #315 9:45AM
Single rider, Fast Pass or just get there early. - Linzee  1093.8 #155 9:45AM
Okay one more question, I promise :) how early is too early to line up at the gate on Thursday? - molladoodle  7.8 #12055 10:35AM
Well if they are planning to park on Disney property the lots only open an hour before park opening, so I would suggest getting there a little more than an hour early to park right when the lot opens and then make their way to the parks to wait in line, - lohofosho  784.9 #217 10:58AM
I had good luck doing single rider about 20 min before park closing ( while world of color was still going ) - carminaire  698.6 #255 11:13AM

Our first day will be Thursday and our only opportunity to get in an hour early. We will have to get our e tickets converted to Disney tickets. Do the ticket booths open an hour early too or are we out of luck?

By eticket do you mean the page with the barcode you print out after purchasing your ticket online? You don't need to take them to the ticket booth - just present them to the "ticket-taker" at the gate. They will exchange the paper for a "real" ticket. That's my experience, at least. - jmgphx  323.1 #733 10:36AM
Same here. If it has a bar code you can skip the ticket booths. But to answer your question, yes theyre open early. - Pollyanna702  225.9 #1583 11:48AM
Thanks. It's a voucher from ARES but it does have a bar code. - molladoodle  7.8 #12055 11:48AM

I made my first post a few days ago and then read the rules and realized I didn't introduce myself. screen name came from my dog, Molly--which we call Molla--and the fact that she's a golden Molla Doodle. :) we will be in DL in two days!!! Can't wait. My daughter is so excited for thunder mountain railroad and goofy's sky school and I'm excited to try out pirates of the Caribbea  More...

Have a great time. - WishIWereThere  281.7 #982 8:10PM

We will be in DL next week. Anyone know if the fast passes for the radiator springs racers are "selling out" during week days? Also, does anyone know how long it typically takes to get through the fast pass line? Can't wait for our trip! :)

People have been lined up when the park opens and the line is about an hour long.... and they are gone by 11 am, even on weekdays. - azcoolmom  251.7 #1266 9:15AM
^^ this - pridegirl  386.8 #544 9:19AM
Wow! Thanks :) so is the line to go on the actual ride with a fastpass an hour long too? - molladoodle  7.8 #12055 9:20AM
The wait to go on the ride WITH the FP is quite shorter than without. You may wait around 5-10 minutes if not a little longer. If you don't want to wait in line for the FP there is often times a single rider line that is only 20/25-30 minute wait. - Donaldfan_532  239.7 #1412 9:57AM
We stayed at the grand Californian a week ago for a week. Surprisingly it is still crowded. The hotel check in guy (Randy) gave some awesome tips. Go into CA early morning entry, straight to Radiator springs, ride the ride.... Then go straight to fast pass( doesn't open until 9) to get your pass to ride later. He said to stop by RS at dusk because it is pretty cool when the lights go on. And riding it at night is a different experience. Disneyland was differently not nearly as crowded. We got to stay on the rides and keep rising because no one was in line. Have fun!!!! It looks awesome for Halloween! - Braesmom07  39.2 #4977 10:38AM
How long was the wait to Enter DCA thru the hotel entrance? We're staying there in a couple weeks. Thanks! - MeridaFan  3576.9 #36 11:04AM
this is what we do! go straight to rsr, early morning usually no more than 1/2 hour then right to the fp line. usually sold out by 10 :) - OhanaPhoto  3711.9 #35 11:07AM
the wait to get in through their entrance is never very long but I have heard some mutterings lately of it not being open when the park is. you can confirm or deny that with a quick front desk call though. have fun on your trip! - howdyhowdyhowdy  97.9 #3519 11:59AM
When we stayed at GC we would go down about 15 til early morning opening and there was always a line. Friday for sure the line doubled back. But why better than using front entrance. I thought early morning was so worth it. Got awesome pics with Mater and Lightn McQueen. Also got a great shot of my son solo in front of Disneyland castle. We stayed a week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! We live 10 min away and are planning our next trip for end of October. Has anyone stayed at the remodeled Disneyland hotel? Thoughts between the two? We are new to this😊 - Braesmom07  39.2 #4977 12:47AM
The rooms are beautiful, the headboards and the bolsters are elegant and magical. It's also bigger than the grand, which is great if you have more than 2 people in your room. - bluefairy  643.3 #290 10:52AM
The DLH is beautiful, but recently we decided that we prefer the Grand for two main reasons: 1) we love being right next to DCA--it's convenient and fun to watch things going on in the park; 2) we love sleeping with the windows open and sitting out on the balconies at the Grand. The DLH used to have big windows that opened up for fresh air, but they were removed in the remodel. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  598.9 #317 11:18AM

So we hear that Luigi's Rollickin Roadsters will open early 2016. Here is what my best guess it will be like.... Refer to this video clip from Cars 2 and imagine a combination of trackless ride system rides aquatopia and Pooh's Humny Hunt Tokyo.
