This was our submarine pilot this morning. We knew he'd be awesome when he spent a bunch of time entertaining my niece from the cockpit. Cockpit? Whatever that tiny place is called.... He tried some Haunted Mansion style groaners on us. I told him he should be telling us to "Hurry baaaaack!" I didn't catch his name, but he was super fun. :)
Got to love the cms!!! - PrincessDaisy  304.6 #771 11:14PM

If anyone ventures as far west as the Disneyland Hotel, it's worth having a look at the Frontier Tower's lobby for this huge model of Big Thunder (I really missed you this trip, BTMRR!). I took a bunch of photos, but this one got picked because of a Mousewait fave!
Oh wow!  My 7 year old son, who is living with high functioning autism, is a model and train junkie!  I'll make sure he sees this during our trip in November!  Thank you for posting! - BombFrogCM  686.0 #228 8:52AM
Autism is a toughie... I'm glad he's doing well! The model is huge and has so much going on. If you take a picture right up to the glass, it seems to cut the glare. I got a fun shot by plunking my phone on the top and looking straight down. - Manawalea  30.5 #5167 9:02AM
Thank you!  I think Jack will want to spend an hour just looking at this! - BombFrogCM  686.0 #228 10:57AM
Yeah sure to see it when we were there last, we stayed in that tower. As an HO train enthusiast I thought I'd love to have that in a train room. Hope your son enjoys it when you're there on Veterans Day.  - Midasgold  565.1 #301 7:22AM
I'm sure he will!  Thanks Midasgold. - BombFrogCM  686.0 #228 10:16AM

In the vein of "sometimes things turn out for the best", we were rushing to the park and just missed the orange monorail so were first in line for the red. The cast member there was kind enough to ask if we wanted to ride up front. Boy howdy, yes! This is the view from up front. A spectacular ride!
I always tell hubby that sometimes things are just meant to be. Let life happen. What a great experience!!! - MrsSchnooks  2675.3 #36 10:54PM
It was really exciting :) And I assume she was just being awesome and didn't decide to offer because she saw my brother in law's birthday button! He was more excited about the controls than anything. Ha!! They are awesome.... Got some pics of that too! - Manawalea  30.5 #5167 10:57PM
Yay! Happy ending :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3912.9 #23 10:55PM
Yup! I got out of there thinking that monorail drivers have the best job. Then I remembered how hot it's supposed to get in there.... - Manawalea  30.5 #5167 11:11PM
Riding in the front is best and you use to be able to sit in the back but now they don't let you. - GoffySnowBoardRider  160.9 #2391 10:56PM
Is the back the same thing? I can't remember if Monorails run in both directions. If so, the back would also be awesome! - Manawalea  30.5 #5167 11:09PM

I forgot to throw a thank you into the universe to the CM who saw me contorting myself around posts near the Haunted Mansion (the gate that says Cast Members Only) and told me to come in up soi could better photos. Yay! I have my fingers crossed that they turned out. Film photography is fun, but patience is a virtue!

Has lots of fun riding Pirates today. :) I had shiny gold loonies (hi Canadians!) to give to PotC CMs. When we came back around for our 2nd ride in a row, one of the CMs stopped me and and said he couldn't take pirate booty without giving something in return. So I got some readmission to any attraction (but Matterhorn...??) pass for up to 6 people! Nifty! I'm still not entirely sure how that thing  More...

I've never noticed these rules on Mike & Sulley. Opposite side of the queue, small print and all that... They're very amusing!
"for the safety of others, if you are made of liquid, you must contain yourself at all times" So I guess I shouldn't ride after I've enjoyed a few adult beverages at Mad Tea Party? Eeek! I've been a rule breaker! ::hangs head in shame:: - Duchess_SMK  5565.1 #14 8:02AM

Full moon at Radiator Springs tonight. It was beautiful! And I'm sure most people have ridden RSR at night, but I have to recommend it to those who haven't. We had to go single rider, but those mountains are breathtaking at night.
That moon is a lot bigger here in Arizona. Great shot though!  - PixiePirateMaid  293.1 #837 10:31PM

I need some advice on character meals. The next Disney trip is for my brother-in-law's birthday. He enjoys Disney, but has only really been interested since seeing my niece!a enjoyment of it last year. We want to do one or two character meals, but we're trying to figure out what he'd enjoy the most. His ideal character meal would be free, possibly involve rum, and the characters would be Star Wars  More...

It's free if YOU buy his meal. - MeridaFan  3249.4 #27 4:21PM
Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. We're trying to figure out the best way to pick a meal. Is it what my niece will enjoy the most, so vicarious enjoyment for the rest of us? Is it the best-tasting food? Best characters? Convenience? Lots of stuff to consider! We know there are no free meals with rum, darnit. ;) - Manawalea  30.5 #5167 4:25PM

I'm in the middle of a subtly Disney themed wedding reception. Dinner was just served to the music of Be Our Guest and the bride and I may have been the only ones singing along. Then Hakuna Matata started and my friend and I just gave it. We also happen to be at the same table as the photographer. He says he got some great shots. Whoops! We're at the Tiana and Naveen table. Unless an eagle-eyed kid found it already, I tucked a Chunk keychain behind the sign on a glasses return bin at TSMM. Walked on twice, this morning and the third was about 1 minute wait. My score is still terrible, even with all that practice.

Teeny tiny in-park RAK. I'll be heading to DCA in a bit with a Chunk keychain. I'm probably heading to Soaring' and then World of Color. My shirt is kinda hard to miss and I'll be wearing my glow with the show ears.

I did the Cultivating The Magic tour today. I thought it was quite a fun tour. It can still use a little tweaking and smoothing, but there were lots of interesting stories and walking on to three attractions. Jungle Cruise and Storybook Land canal boats were narrated by the tour guide. Haunted Mansion was just a bonus! I like the perspective of the Matterhorn blending in with the Storybook Land m  More...
