I was in the park this week and had a question posed to me from a visiting relative from over seas. When MW give the percentage of capacity 75% etc, how many people is that actually? What number of people is 100% capacity when the close the gates?

75 % too many. lol  - BillE  474.9 #507 3:01PM
Anything over 30% is too many. - Lelundrial  921.4 #231 3:17PM
Awe, C'mon  - Quiweez  1072.9 #202 4:06PM
That said, I find I lose the happiness at 80%. Folks ingnore their crying babies, shove their strollers on your heels, and the lines are too long at the bathroom let alone trying to get on an attraction or attempting to get food. You have to realize what you can tolerate. BTW it is peak tourist season so any numbers in the 70% are actually good days - Plumiegirl  10797.9 #9 3:52PM
I think the actual number the percentage indicates varies depending on a number of factors, including what rides are operating and what shows are going on (ex: think of how many people per hour a ride like Space or a show like Frozen absorbs, between the que and the actual ride/show itself--if one or two big ticket rides or a show is under refurb, then that means all those people are meandering elsewhere in the park, which makes it feel more crowded).   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  699.3 #324 4:47PM
The MW crowd index is based on ride times being input ( I think) not numbers through the turnstiles.   - Taunton  2396.7 #77 7:15PM

Do they still give out "death certificates" at the haunted mansion? And is there something like that you can ask for on the Jungle cruise? Will be in the park next week with my 8 year old cousin.

They don't have death certificates anymore, but the jungle cruise has maps that they hand out.  Enjoy your trip! - Thumper13  542.7 #429 11:34PM
I'm not sure about the death certificates but you can get a map of the jungle cruise.  - Twitterpated  278.6 #1183 11:26PM
When you get off The Jungle Cruise,  ask the CM for the map. I asked before boarding, and was told to ask at the end.  CM provided me with one at that time.  - crazyfriends  63.5 #4576 12:25PM

Hey mouse waiters! I will be in the parks July 6th and 7th! I'm meeting cousins from Australia for the 1st Time there! So excited! They have an 8 year old boy. Any suggestions for special things to do that people might not always think of?

Redwood Creek in DCA is great. My 8 yr old loves it. - DLKenCA  3330.9 #51 8:14AM

Yes.  My kids love this as well.  Parents get a good work out too. - potatohead25  831.7 #259 2:29PM
My granddaughter is 8 and I have to admit we are slaves to the fast passes first thing in the mornings. But after that she really loves Tarzan's treehouse.  And some people don't realize that Buzz Lightyear fast passes are free, so we go on that several times each visit with very little waiting. She loves the competition. Have a great time❗️ - dianaaa  669.5 #344 12:16AM
Yes, Fastpass Buzz. It doesn't count against you so you can hold it and another one at the same time. - Taunton  2396.7 #77 11:52AM

Hello Mousewaiters!  I have cousins from Australia who are possibly planning a first Disneyland trip for July.  Does the HoJo still offer a Mouse wait discount? ARe there any other close hotels you would recommend.  She started off looking at the Disney resorts and about had a heart attack at the price!

My family like the red lion! We usually find a pretty good deal that includes parking and breakfast.   - boomom  798.3 #276 12:38PM
Look into the Majestic Gardens Hotel on Ball & Disney Way. It is a very nice hotel with large rooms and a shuttle to the parks.  - breathe_in_the_happiness  1108.3 #191 7:13AM
We like the del soll inn. It's right across the street from the Disneyland entrance so super convenient and a fraction of the price compared to Disneyland park hotels. Rooms are really big and they have free breakfast. But you have to book soon or there won't be any rooms left.  - EvilqueenRS  704.9 #321 12:16PM
Del sol  is good but their parking is bad so have  them shuttle there. 😊 - secretagentangel  10225.3 #11 10:46PM

Yes they rent them to the right of the dl main gate.$50.00per day - toarrispirate  660.1 #348 9:13PM

Ok mousewaiters. I usually go to The Park during the 1st week of Dec. won't be able to do that this year. I may be able to go the week before Christmas week. How insanely packed is it that week?

It's pretty busy but not as busy as the week after Christmas!  Lots of colleges and other schools are getting out around that time and people come from all over the world to see the decorations. - IDVandalSkipperCM  2677.9 #62 9:03PM
Very busy BUT worth it! Even if you only do a few attractions each day the ambience, parades, fun food and characters for the season make the busyness ok - excmdlgurl  517.3 #457 9:07PM
