I am a mother and a Disney-a-holic.... I was a DCA cast member from April 2013 to August 2015. My experience with Disney was literally life changing and I will NEVER forget that. Magic is real...

I used to question why Disney charged so much for a balloon but I now know why. Back in October we were walking to the tram for Mickey and Friends when a man randomly hands my son a balloon. He took it and said thank you and we brought it home. It literally last 2 MONTHS! I could not believe it last a full 2 months...

We went last night and the crowds were heavy on Main Street and in Tomorrowland. I was with my mom and 9 year old son and we had two teen aged girls shoving their way past people and pushed me aside. It's terrible that people act that way. My son was hit several times with strollers. Disneyland just isn't big enough for the crowds it's attracting. DCA has a lot more room which makes guest control   More...

the traffic solutions to guest overflow havent been working especailly for the busy weeks and for an event where you clog up  main street with waiting people and those entering and exiting. i have been fortunate to see the candlelight in 2012 and love the continued tradditon of this but it dioes create stress at times although rude people need to go away period. i was against the idea but at one point disney was debating moving the candlelight inside dca to the hyperion theather, i know not the same but it can hold 1,000 of guest there and show multiple showing - pikarich  5227.7 #22 12:16AM
Blasphemy! I'd go with maybe outdoors somewhere else if it helps . Like they still march down the street by IASW and use in front of IASW with more special effects or possibly in the amphitheater there. Multiple shows with a lottery drawing or something too.  - secretagentangel  4658.1 #28 12:20AM

I know it's not your fault cms but during the thanksgiving week with four parades and 2 fireworks on Disneyland side, the guest flow was  modified horribly especially on the Tomorrowland side which cause us to leave out of fustration and partial soiled kids because of changes they did that day. It wouldn't have been a problem if ptn parade had more than 1 parade crossing point . But I saw some really bad people Interactions that week too - pikarich  5227.7 #22 7:23AM

Some of the people who lined up will be pushing 36+ hours, that's insane.  - BeatleMike  635.4 #316 11:19PM
I couldn't do that.  I'm old.  And tired.  And sane.  πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚ - DisneyFanZoe  1249.3 #135 11:21PM
BeatleMike 36 hours of dealing with crowds and no sleep = I cannot handle that. - luxkitty  3529.7 #41 11:22PM
People need to be cautious, 24 hours is already pushing your body. If they don't rest and go further, their judgement will become impaired, hand eye coordination goes out the window so I hope they aren't driving, hormones go out of whack and emotions will be all over the place, the heart actually starts to stress and blood pressure will likely go crazy, some people after 24 hours actually get the affect of dehydration or even schizophrenia. These early birds best keep this in mind and take naps when they can for their own safety and that of others. - BeatleMike  635.4 #316 11:37PM
And DL is just sensory overload anyway--being in that for 24 hours straight can be overwhelming, then you add crowds to it.  Then, you consider that a lot of people will have been eating junk food, drinking coffee/energy drinks, eating sugar, and maybe some alcohol.  If you're haven't ever done something like this before and aren't aware of the signals your body sends you, it could be bad.  Panic attacks, high blood pressure, dehydration--those are all very real concerns.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  613.1 #331 11:50PM
Again...why take kids to that? So wrong imo. 😏 - Darlingwendi  1222.7 #140 12:25AM
It is...  Seeing exhausted children at 3am is not pretty and it's mind boggling the parents that insist they continue on.   - DisneyFanZoe  1249.3 #135 12:29AM
My son wanted to go and I flat out told him, 13 is too young to be up that longΒ running around all day at the parks. Today was his last day of school, so that wouldn't have been the issue. - BeatleMike  635.4 #316 12:43AM

There is a bike rack on the Harbor side. I believe there is also an ATM right by the racks. I see bikes there all the time and to answer your question, the CMs do have a place backstage to park their bikes. Cms are encouraged to ride share, bike or take the bus to work. We are offered incentives for doing so.

Good question and to be honest I don't recall seeing any. You can go all ghetto and just chain it to a random post. - Lelundrial  656.3 #304 1:06PM
Yes. They are by downtown disney, between espn zone and parking lot.I believe there are also bike racks outside of the security check.....on both sides. (Check near picnic area). - mamajos  10.8 #10480 1:06PM

My name is Tammy. A long time ago a friend called me "Tamstirr" and it kinda stuck as a nickname. As instant messaging and the Internet started to BOOM I decided to use it as my screen name. I added the CM 2 years ago when I was hired on with Disney. That's my story

My name is Mary. I chose my mw name because my daughter age 20 has spent most of her life in the hospital. She has had 78 operations including a 6 organ transplant. One of her hospital stays in January 1999 to April 2000 was 15 months. All she could talk about was going to Disneyland. When she was finally released we purchased annual passes and have had them ever since. When we walk through the gate it alway makes us smile and forget about the world. Even though she can't handle a full day at Disneyland the couple of hours we do is special. - DisneyMakesMeSmile  981.6 #191 10:17AM

For my first few months I was ButPeterHowDoWeGetToNeverland. I didn't care for the shortened version. So I made a post and said "Why do people come here, pick a name, then never ever post? But then someone, like me, thinks of a new name and it's taken in 8 deeferent ways? Someone hand me a churro imma faint." Then @DizGeek suggested that be my name. So on that very day, March 6, 2011 it stuck. I have changed my name a few times- loved ChurroVonCinnamon, but always go back to this. Before I was 'churro', I was hmacif (huh- maw-siff πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ still like that one.) - misschurro  6361.2 #17 6:40PM

It would help you a lot more if you actually reported them to the cast members working the attraction. There is almost always a greeter at every attraction. We do our best to keep an eye out for things like this...but, sometimes it really is just part of a party trying to catch up with the rest of their party.

Did they have their hands in the air? - Atora  2702.2 #47 7:19PM

This makes way more sense now! I was hoping there would be more. The castle had "gold crowns" for the 50th. Can't wait to see it when it's all done

any sign of changes over at Carthay Circle? - MsTikiMermadam  1006.4 #186 5:30PM
Ohh awesome! Thank you!! It's looking so neat! I'm glad they had a plan for coffee filters/frosting tips haha.  - MellieKay  286.4 #1001 1:19PM
wow diamond shaped toppers!  i wonder if the silver fabric and the fabric cone tops will have a reflective effect during the fireworks,  or maybe they will be surfaces for projections..... - MsTikiMermadam  1006.4 #186 5:28PM

I personally like PCH grill with Mickey. It's smaller and more personal and the characters are more frequent and stay at your table longer because they don't have to visit so many tables.

Plaza Inn with Minnie, Pooh and Friends, Storytellers Cafe with Chip, Dale and Brother Bears, Goofy's Kitchen, and PCH Grill with Mickey and Stitch.  - BaseballMickey_CM  7560.9 #11 6:18PM
I love how there's no duplication of characters, so it's not confusing to the kiddos. - debbiev  1170.6 #151 6:21PM
There's only one of each character :) - BaseballMickey_CM  7560.9 #11 6:25PM
Right, gotcha!πŸ™Š - debbiev  1170.6 #151 6:51PM
Plaza inn with Minnie is what I was trying to remember and couldn't:) awesome thanks!!  We usually do dinner  - Momma_of_a_PRINCESS  10.7 #10556 7:06PM
Pooh and Friends?!  Where is this? Is it new?!  BaseballMickey_CM - MeridaFan  4243.7 #34 9:36PM
Foes storytelllers always have Meeko (raccoon from Pocahontas) - or only sometimes?  Thanks!  - spicy  823.2 #223 9:41PM
Pooh and friends are at the Plaza Inn with Minnie MeridaFan - BaseballMickey_CM  7560.9 #11 11:12PM
We love Plaza Inn! By far it has the most characters. It is not uncommon to see up to 15 characters during breakfast. We have also done Surfs Up with Mickey and Ariels Grotto. We definitely prefer Plaza Inn.  - disneymama1  157.9 #2596 9:39PM
I thought about Plaza Inn . I may just do that this year . We've never been to one . The kids are older know so I think we would benefit from it !  - jmza4  323.6 #31532 12:55PM
Plaza in all the way. But look into reservations if you would like to sit inside it fills up fast. Good stop for late breaky or early lunch. My son loved it after he was too shy with the first two characters who came over. After that he was way better with the other characters. - disneychef  11.9 #0 9:52PM
I will be calling tomorrow to make a reservation. My hubby is excited! What I was wondering is if the park opens at nine do they do reservations for earlier ?  - Momma_of_a_PRINCESS  10.7 #10556 11:00PM
No they don't open up earlier than the park. That way there is no jumping the park before its open. But good question😊 - disneychef  11.9 #0 11:28PM
We have always had breakfast before the park opens. You go to the ticket turnstile all the way to the left and they let you in. There are cast members out to make sure no one jumps into the park early.  - disneymama1  157.9 #2596 8:58AM
Sort of.  If there is magic mornings happening, you can get in even if you don't have a magic mornings option on your ticket.  Unless they've changed the rules, that's the only restaurant you can do this at.  I've tried for Carnation Cafe once, they wouldn't let me in. - GoofyMom77  904.1 #203 9:12AM
