#tbt What an evening to spend with Marty at his house! Being able to pick his brain about this and that about Disney was truly a Disney Geeks dream!

What are your thoughts on the new Jasmine costume? If we try hard enough maybe we'll get Chewie a little more covered up. Can someone explain? Thanks

Honestly...I get why they changed the costume.  She's supposed to be a teen, but they have mature, fully developed CMs playing the part.  You have grown men lining up for pics, kids are probably accidentally grabbing at you...I'm not offended by the belly being shown by any means but I do see why a costume adjustment may be a positive change.  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  658.5 #334 9:55PM

According to unofficial reports there has been some complaints about certain characters look which I find ridiculous since I see worse in the parks ,but another rumor states that Disney is trying to make the princess more realistic to their areas of authenticity in the world in which some debate that even thought some characters are generalized about where they are from it still a fictional town like aladin, but not for some like Muang and pocahontas which have actual towns/countries. Another rumor states that they will be more princess having changes but since this is unconfirmed at this time it is hard. All other sources I check or check are baffled in this decision as well.  - pikarich  6498.0 #22 9:08PM

A couple of years ago, we were at , eating a snack, when Jasmine & Aladdin came out for a Meet & Greet.  There was this creepy old guy (didn't have kids) who kept staring at Jasmine.  She got really uncomfortable & she left.  Her CM handler said that she was chilly and needed her coat, but that she would be right back.  She came back out, wearing the coat she usually just wears in the winter.  However, this was in June and it was 85 degrees out!  She resumed taking pictures (creepy old guy was still there).  He finally left after a bit.  We went up to take pictures with her & Aladdin & asked her if she was ok.  She was very cordial about, but admitted that the old guy really made her uncomfortable.  I'm not crazy about the change, but I understand it. - DisneyHeidi09  292.4 #1037 4:39PM

Has anyone heard about this? Details?

I think it's a good option for times when a hopper AP isn't doable--I would much rather have a DCA AP than none at all.  Plus so much construction in DL that maybe this would be nice to have for a year for some folks.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  658.5 #334 4:18PM
I agree with you 100%. I'm hitting DCA more lateot, until the construction is over at DL. Better dining at DCA too (and they have adult drinks;)  ) - DeadliestPassholder  386.5 #628 4:51PM
It's been on here since last week, seems like most  wouldn't want one without DL.  - secretagentangel  8509.2 #11 3:28PM
Yeah... I only buy one day one park tickets when I do get to go and California Adventure has never been the park I choose.  - FoolishMortal138  566.7 #397 4:01PM
My husband wants one and I wouldn't mind getting this one. However, the article states that the DCA pass is only on sale until Dec 1st and has to be used by then. My deluxe pass expires in June, so I don't want my husbands to overlap and it doesn't look like these will be available for purchase in June. Darn! - KelstersInc2319  61.4 #4585 5:27PM
Spoke to a reliable source yesterday and he said by the time Star Wars Land is 100% open with attractions, a day's admission to Disneyland will be $200.00. Also the implementation of  separate park AP might be coming back - snappy  455.1 #521 11:19AM

Tower of Terror: Does everyone realize the ride itself is going to remain the same! Cosmetically yes the entire set design will be changed, but the actual ride experience will be the same as TOT. Remember the attraction before Goofys Sky school? The scene design changed but the ride itself remained the same. Considering Disney spent millions on TOT, do you really think they will change it up?

I was sad they are taking the theme away, but I am over it. They will change what they want. But the magic will always be there. Just makes for a good TBT post now lol. - Chumash28  1666.9 #113 4:19AM
This is a really great way to look at it. I agree with you that the magic will always remain.   - AngiMouse  163.8 #2596 10:02PM
Yes I realize. I like the spookiness and theme of ToT and have been a long time fan of the twilight zone. Guardians was an ok movie, not my cup of tea in general. I get why Disney is doing it but I'm still bummed and will always kinda be bummed about it. But I always have YouTube 😊 and I guess WDW if I ever decide to go there  - FoolishMortal138  566.7 #397 8:15AM
Do you think CBS was asking too much $$$ to renew the license or not offering to renew? - snappy  455.1 #521 3:23PM
I honestly don't know. I just wish if it was between the 2 parks, to keep ours twilight zone and have WDW side change there's since there's a lot less "Disney" there...like Avatar land  - FoolishMortal138  566.7 #397 9:21PM
I totally agree with you FoolishMortal138 Some of us like the spooky stuffπŸ‘» - Witchie77  400.4 #608 11:03PM
Honestly, I feel that the CBS licensing thing is a lie.  If they were asking too much money....  Why on earth is the WDW version staying intact?  That means they would have to renew it either way. - JediDug  302.1 #972 8:07PM
Right JediDug ?! I totally feel the same way. I don't like the new guy running the show and I've even left a complaint now, somethings never thought I'd do. I'm all for change, but some things just don't need it - FoolishMortal138  566.7 #397 9:07PM
FoolishMortal138 So true.  I am heartbroken by this, and cried when I saw the news was confirmed.  I never thought I'd only have 12 years of this ride in Anaheim.  It was the one building you could see from the Freeway (besides the Matterhorn) and it always made me so happy...  I truly hope lots of people are sending complaints so WDI gets a clue.  I signed the petition on change.org, but I know it won't make a difference.  Disney cares about the money...  Even if they do upset a large part of their fan base in the process... - JediDug  302.1 #972 8:08AM
I'm always up for change when it's necessary, but in this case TOT is/was a awesome ride! The entire setup from the moment one steps in is just AWESOME! Floridas version is beyond awesome and I can see why they are leaving it alone! Not fair! Just like Mull madness, all they did was change the signs and renamed theAttraction!  - snappy  455.1 #521 11:16AM
My take: plenty of people are bummed about this (myself included), and quite a few are very vocal. Β However, you can bet that once the new ride opens, it will be wildly popular, and a huge draw for DCA. πŸ˜‚ Β The mob is fickle, as they say. Β The new Frozen show is a great example of this issue--people complained wildly when it was announced, but sure enough, on opening day, the fastpasses were quickly gone, and rave reviews came in. Β Same will happen with Star Wars land, and same thing happened with many other repurposed DCA Yesterland rides/areas. Β People will get used to the idea, they will be curious, and the bandwagon effect will move in the opposite direction--I guarantee the lounge (and MANY other social media sites) will be flooded with pics and enthusiasm on opening weekend. Β Tons of people will even visit and ride the GotG ride, and not even realize it's different than before...its just the way it is, and Disney has very carefully calculated that the risk of upsetting people about losing an old favorite in the beginning is worth the financial benefit of adding a "new" thrill ride--and if rumors are true, an E-ticket for a new section of DCA in the long term. Β I'm personally sad to lose the old Hollywood, creepy feel of ToT, and I thought the idea was ludicrous at first, but (and I say this with remorse) it's business--ultimately, the financial risk of losing money from a few die-hard ToT fans (and let's face it: there will be very few people who feel strongly enough about this change that they completely stop spending money at Disney), is worth the financial gain of what they have up their sleeves. Β  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  658.5 #334 1:25PM
Well said!! We are the exception to the Frozen rule, we've boycotted it. We told cast members of our stance when they asked if we'd seen it, they smiled and said they don't see it lasting as long as Aladdin. They think when the new wears off it won't be very popular.  - GoofyMom77  1022.1 #205 1:45PM

Need advice! Last Year my wife bought 6 Premium passes after Disney announced their new Annual pass structure. So far we've used 4 of them to renew and Disney has been great in extending them to the Signature Plus! We need to unload one since we do not need it. Pass needs to be activated by Dec 31, 2016. Any ideas how we can sell it? Thanks! I believe she paid $779.00

I would be careful about Craigslist and eBay. Craigslist you don't know who you are meeting and if they are legit. Ebay/Paypal has lots of fees so it's expensive. Hopefully someone on MW can benefit. I sold one of my extras last year to a MWer. Just be careful. Disney doesn't "allow" selling of anything on their property. Even for cost.  So if you meet someone on property, just be discrete...or sell just outside of property. Good luck. - DLKenCA  3014.2 #51 9:14AM

Wife put this together. Added the old So. cal Gas Company private party ticket stubs from our yearly visits, thanks to grandpa. Back in the day! Great memories! Can you guess the attraction we're waiting for?

My mom worked for Northrop so we went every year on Northrop night. They closed the park to everyone else and just let us all in & we all had the park to ourselves! Can you imagine them doing that now? Ah, the good old days! - debbiev  1488.0 #127 10:37PM

Happy or sad? Spent the day at Legoland Carlsbad, and while driving home we asked our kids (6 & 3) Disneyland or Legoland? Both screamed Legoland. A family of 4 annual passes would be far less than one of our 1 premium passes..

Mixed feelings. My son (age 11) is obsessed with LEGOS! (My husband also has quite a collection!) He's been to LEGOLAND  twice & while he had a blast, LEGOLAND  is nowhere nearly as organized (or clean) as Disneyland. It is way cheaper. (Loved their BOGO deals!) LEGOLAND doesn't have enough to keep everyone entertained and happy to justify APs for our family. Even my son agrees with this. Disneyland & Disney are just to special and nothing ever come close to them. - DisneyHeidi09  292.4 #1037 10:06AM

I don't have a pic but in Toy Story lot the drive in the lot was easy and quick but the line for the bus is pretty long. Took about 10 minutes to board. For as many people there were it wasn't too bad of wait. - ElectricMayhemMom  1737.6 #108 11:12AM

What happens is they'll fill a floor or two then close the structure and divert you to toy story or simba. If you come back in about a half hour or so though they'll open the structure again once enough cars go to the other lots. It's called pulsing, they do it all day. It's just hit or miss during the holidays but not closed too many times early morning. Race days are different though, that's this weekend.  - secretagentangel  8509.2 #11 8:36PM

It's been crazy busy at the parks since Disney modified/increased the AP's? Anyone else notice this? I know several families who are not renewing and are visiting the parks every weekend possible.

I think it's mainly because of the Halloween party's during this month, it has been very popular. Last weekend was the most pack I've seen due to the chalk walk and MW birthday bash going on. On Sunday there were lines everywhere from getting to the parking structure, shuttles to downtown Disney, lines through the security, lines getting in the park, and then any rides at the time were about 60 min plus. On top of all that the heat was not helping much, hope it starts to cool down soon πŸ‘»πŸŽƒπŸ’€ - Brucele11  114.0 #3462 10:28PM

There's no point in reading this article in my opinion. Personally he deserves what he gets paid. When "you" can make, make or break, choices that directly affect the viability of a National Icon like Disneyland and one or two bad choices could cause a massive down turn for thousands of employees and shareholders and millions of fans. And you have to worry about that on a daily basis. Than 'you' could make that salary, frankly he can and whoever follows him can keep that job cause I wouldn't want to willingly take on that stress. πŸ˜‚ - Donaldfan_532  248.8 #1444 8:56AM

After this weekend of Annual Pass changes at Disneyland I was thinking how many of us will actually stop buying the passes no matter how much they cost, added block out dates, and other detourants the Disney Executives might impose? Does anyone have a threshold on their max in $$$ for a pass? I'm sure Disney monitors these sites to gain insight. Personally I don't see the number of AP'ers going d  More...
