Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans is always great, as long as you don't mind being weighed down a little. I still enjoy the Jambalaya at the Blue Bayou. And then there's the chimi-churro... some assembly required.

We went a couple of years ago. Yes, it was packed, but we still had a great time. Lots of different things to do. We counted down the new year in tomorrowland

Sorry, I didn't read your whole post. They do the countdown to New Years, of course, and then a firework show at 12:00 midnight. If you plan to go on NYE you should get to the park ASAP, by opening if possible. The park does infact have a max capacity (which is not disclosed, so don't ask me, I don't know) and when it is filled to capacity, no more guests are admitted. You can, however, get a hand stamp and leave and return to the park. Be sure to have your hand stamped AND have your pass ready. You will need both to get back in. It is very likely that the park will fill to capacity on NYE. - MyPark 944.1 #91 12:23PM

I went last year to Disneyland's side and got in around 3pm just fine. It's a heck of a lot of fun. Just go with a party attitude and know you probably won't ride anything. I'd pick a park and stay there. if you leave get your hand stamped. Last year they had 3 dj's. We spent our time over by IASW and they had Chip and Dale do a dance off.
