I'd say entirely dependent on the kid and maturity. My friend and I were about 10 when I first ventured the park by myself, and we had a blast.

According to Disney Travel they must be 7 or older...but, here is my question to you why would anyone drop there children off unattended...the CM's are not babysitters....just saying... - dawna  290.0 #1097 9:13AM
SEVEN!?? what the who? - misschurro  9375.3 #12 9:15AM
This has to be a joke. I'd say 15, 16 minimum. My rule growing up is that if I could drive myself there, I could go unattended. Within reason, of course. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #235 9:20AM
Holy cow. Not in a million years. - DisneyVacationLover  507.5 #470 9:22AM

...in a hurry to rid of their kids? :( - misschurro  9375.3 #12 9:29AM
What! Seven is still too young. - thestalkerNIN  362.4 #722 9:31AM
Seven? That is crazy! My two are 10 and I will let them go on rides alone occasionally and we designate a meeting spot nearby for when they are done- but I would never drop them off like that! - applecore  285.3 #1145 9:32AM
What? No way, as the mother of a 9 year old and Third Grade teacher.... I say that is way too young! - IBelieveInFairies  707.0 #324 9:37AM
I'm having a hard time believing Disney would establish a minimum age to be left alone in the parks. - Linzee  2054.4 #94 9:56AM
Never ever going to happen! My kids are old enough now (19,18 and 15) but the 1st time they ask to go to the park by themselves or with their friends my heart will break (other than Grad Nite)! We have never gone to DLR without them! - mrscttlemstr  317.2 #924 10:31AM
7 is crazy! I think I was 13 the first time I went alone with friends. It also depends on the maturity level of the kid. - LaneSparrow316  847.0 #260 10:51AM
I didn't go to the parks by myself til I was 17. I think 7 is way too young to be at DL by yourself - PrincessMacy  536.5 #439 11:13AM
Seven... Seven?!?... SEVEN?!?!?!?! - ScubaSteve028  835.5 #262 11:14AM
I think 7 is how old kids have to be to ride something by themselves without sitting next to someone for example. Hopefully that's what Disney meant! My son is 7 and I won't let him cross the street by himself much less go to DL! 😱 - MinnieMousewife  928.2 #236 12:30PM
^ This! Just to ride a ride not be alone in the park. - SueBayou  2019.2 #96 12:32PM

Not all kids go through the "too cool" stage. Don't worry. My daughter took her first trip to Disbeyland at 16 with me...even walked arm in arm. ☺Sure, I could always find ways to embarrass her, but even at almost 18, she has never shunned me. πŸ˜› - PeachKay  311.1 #962 10:21AM

I remember when I was a CM this was a problem..Parents would drop off their kids at the parks after school until they were off work and the parks was estentaily their day care but no adult supervision and little kids like 6 and 7 and they would even find kids taking naps alone on the Island and other places in the park...Kinda distributing - Dave  13876.5 #8 8:03PM
OMG. that is horrible!! and sad :( - misschurro  9375.3 #12 8:09PM
We have a theme park here in Colorado that way also. We don't even go anymore because it is so bad. Kids of all ages running around parentless. It's kinda sad. - minigirl1156  873.7 #253 8:09PM
We had a similar problem in WDW. Parents would drop their kids off at the honey I shrunk the kids playground and leave for the day. One couple left their 3 and 8 year olds there while they went to dinner at Epcot. Not ok. - lostgirl7988  697.8 #331 8:56PM

I think people mover should stay, and as I had said a long while ago: turn it into a tron-themed light cycle run. They could do a ride similar to that of the 'horse riding' ride in knots where you're leaning forward. It would certainly fit into a futuristic theme of tomorrow land.

Maybe back by IASW they can build a villains layer - GoofyMom77  1143.4 #189 9:54PM
Someone suggested before that they should build a dungeon for the villains under the castle. I don't know about disturbing such sacred ground, but I am all for a villain lair. - ImpracticallyImperfect  263.1 #1363 9:57PM
It's been rumored that Disney was going to make a Villian Mountain ride that would look like Bald Mountain from Fantasia, but WDI is unsure because it could scare little kids or be too intense. It would be a fast log ride with lots of drops. I want the subs to stay and Autopia and bring back the People Mover. - BrerRabbit  360.8 #731 10:17PM
But they have tower of terror and Indy and haunted mansion.... - KissDclown  1089.2 #205 10:23PM
yes, bring back PM - misschurro  9375.3 #12 10:25PM
I still get a kick out of Autopia. I'm 36 and I still feel like i'm driving for the first time. My daughter loves it and she is 13. Maybe adding a little more scenery will help, such as characters of some sort. I just don't think you can get rid of a ride where most children feel like they are actually driving.  If they are not going to bring back the People Mover I still think they need to keep the tracks it's a little piece of history and I feel like i'm in some sort of club that knows the real truth of the tracks. Inoventions is a whole other topic. It's way past it's time and needs to be replaced.  Read more:http://www.mousewait.com/disneyland/lands-talk/391733/Ok-talks-about-Innovations-Autopia-maybe-Nemo-and#.UAWR_bQ7WAg#ixzz20tk4L0Jd - LovePiglet76  39.2 #5683 9:29AM
Sorry guys I have no idea why there is a link at the end of this comment. I guess my post had a mind of it's own. - LovePiglet76  39.2 #5683 9:30AM
The old water by IASW should skadaddle, but I too love autopia and the submarines.  I think they should take out the people mover track if they aren't going to utilize it (from what I am have heard they can't utilize it because of city codes - I may be wrong). I like the idea of a Villians Lair - I think it would be neat if Disney did some sort of contest or something that would creat a section as voted on by Disney Fans...hmmm I am going to think about this all day now! - MouseketeerforShort  340.3 #796 9:38AM

Glad our $12K tax payment is going to good use along with everyone else's! When it's earned spend it where you please when it's cost other tax payers don't publicize how your spending or plan on spending it. - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  751.9 #306 5:59PM
I totally agree this should not be broadcasted. This is personal financial information and many people do not like the SS disabily system is something many people are not a fan of and you re opening yourself up to alot of critisicm. The system is truly abused, I am not saying you are abusing it, but this is inline with political talk. - Minnis2Society  382.4 #669 6:11PM
Yeah....I tend to agree. 😁 - DisneyFanZoe  1249.3 #163 6:18PM
Anyone who has met me knows that I truly do deserve this. All I'm saying is I want to splurge on a dinner with my husband if I get approved. It's not like I have never worked before. I miss my job dearly. I would rather have a job then deal with what I deal with. Would you like to have this tremor I have had for over 10 days? Or the migraines I have every day of my life? Trust me I don't get to spend money ever and I just wanted opinions on places I could have a nice meal with my husband. Someone asked a question and I answered. Go ahead and RP if you want but I just want opinions on places to eat. Thank you for your opinion on this matter but that's not what I had asked about. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #346 6:22PM
Ahhhhh I don't think anyone said they want to be in your situation nor that you don't need the assistance, but there are other ways to word your question. Such as life has not been easy, I have a court day coming up and if everything goes good my husband and I want to eat at a nice resturant. What's your opinions? Or use the search button, this is asked at least once a day. Also the government often trolls these sites and they do find out who people are. You should reconsider broadcasting such personal information. - Minnis2Society  382.4 #669 6:30PM
I deserve it too I've had migraines for the last 28 years, broken back and neck from a car accident and I surely know how you feel. I'm just saying maybe you could just have asked for eating recommendations as opposed to adding such personal details. - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  751.9 #306 7:02PM
I hope you get approved, I applied for the first time in March and just waiting to get approved. Much like yourself I have been disabled for many years but you would never tell by looking at me. - robman97  376.2 #686 6:27PM
Yeah I can understand that. I have applied 3 desperate times and been denied about 5 times. That's after the appeals. And going back to work and trying again and again. Sometimes people cannot understand how hard it is. Trust me if I could I would work full time and work for my money. But being disabled is also a full time job when it is severe enough. Thus the reason my lawyer actually took my case. The hidden disabilities are the worst with ssa. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #346 6:31PM
Let's keep in mind that she's applying for a program that she has to qualify to receive. If she does indeed qualify, I see no reason why she can't spend her money as she pleases. If you don't like that or feel she should only be able to use it for certain things, you can start an effort (or join one) to reform the system. Unless she's abusing the system or not following the rules, why is she get jumped on about this? - Mimmy  1442.4 #138 6:31PM
Thank you so much mimmy. I have been here on MW for almost 2 years and done so many things here and met so many people. And many people know about my conditions and I have been trying for social security for longer. Anyone who knows or has met me knows this and I never expected to be jumped on like this. I just want to splurge on a dinner with my husband. I'm happy to know that people like you are here. An I never said when I get it. I said IF I get it. I'm still not sure if I will get approved. I pray I do. But if I don't I will still appeal and try again. Thank you again mimmy. - ImAlwaysCrazy  674.5 #346 6:40PM
Basically this is a topic that shouldn't be on here. Should have just asked for recommendations on where to eat. It's a debate that doesn't end. I qualify for SSI but don't believe it's fair to claim it right now just because I can. - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  751.9 #306 6:53PM

A Tron Light Cycle based ride. If any of you have had the misfortune of going to Knott's you may have experienced the horse roller coaster where you sit in a seat similar to how you would ride a horse. Well imagine turning that into a better track, with appropriate music, and Tron theme. I imagine it could be pretty darn awesome.

I would want an aladdin ride. Hop on a magic carpet and go through the cave of wonders, agrabah and a whole new world! That is my dream... Well one of my dream rides. Lol - princessmichelle  267.0 #1323 8:27PM

It's a random person chosen in each, which is why I always pose until they tell you to put your glasses on.

yes all gates (A,B,C and D) have a rebel spy chosen. it's either at random or the cm that organized everyone getting on picks the rebel spy. I have witnessed a guest being picked. she was a single rider and was chatting with the cm and I had said watch she will be the spy and I was correct. so trying to sit in a particular seat or not moving and such doesn't really increase your chances of becoming one. be patient and your time will come :) - SammyJo  348.7 #772 11:34PM

I love the lotion they sell, not sure which one, but it smells like they bottled essence of disbeyland in it. I think it's the smell of the hub area, it's been too long I cant remember. Anyways, I bought a couple bottles I loved it so much.

'Disney magic' smells like Main Street to me. Chocolate and mint and kinda a floral smell all rolled into one. I know...sounds yucky...but oh my goodness it reminds me of Disneyland Everytime I smell it!! - ohhhtoodles  365.2 #711 1:07PM

I agree, DL will always be there tomorrow. Focus on the now so you can afford to/have the time to go all you want later.

I go to csulb and its not that far from Disneyland, only about a 20 minute drive. - SorcererD91  7335.2 #18 10:44PM
You need to come to our csulb meetups!!!! - kristian  2004.9 #98 11:05PM
Is there another one coming up soon? - SorcererD91  7335.2 #18 11:12PM
I'll let you know. I'll have to ask the organizer. Otherwise I was thinking a CSU college meet up! - kristian  2004.9 #98 12:04AM
This^^ I go to CSULB and its seriously the best! Everyone is so awesome, the professors are amazing, and its a school that actually requires intelligence to get in to, unlike other surrounding schools ;) I have a lot of homework, but I usually go to DL about twice a week. It literally takes me 25 minutes to get from my dorm on campus to the Mickey and Friends parking lot. I love my experience at CSULB and definitely couldn't see myself anywhere else! - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #235 12:17AM

I go to school in Fullerton (about 5 miles from the parks) and I go to the parks every weekend. If I wasn't working there, I'd still go every weekend - BaseballMickey  8970.1 #14 10:45PM
Wow Sidney you gave such a great answer. College is an investment in yourself and weekends were when I got my homework done and term papers written. I was a nursing major and had all that extra lab time on top of classes. Maybe a math major or non lab majors could get away with little or no study time. I was busy with school work with my degrees. - Plumiegirl  10879.2 #11 12:25AM
Let me elaborate: I came to CSULB because its where I felt I belonged. A large part of that was because DL was so close, but it also helped that the beach is blocks away and the college has one of the best English Ed programs in the nation. It is super important to make sure you feel at home wherever you choose to go. College is one of the few times when you can pick up and leave to go anywhere, so why not go someplace you love? - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #235 12:26AM
