I like all the hotels for various reasons. Personally the DL hotel is our favorite. We enjoy PP if we're just looking to take advantage of magic mornings. Also, the the rooms are spacious at PP. Disneyland resort guests can use any pool at any of the hotels too. PP has amazing views so consider getting a resort view if possible. The one thing I did not like about PP was the elevators - they took f  More...
We've stayed there before & thought it was good! The location is nice & the rooms are clean! It doesn't beat GCH or the DL Hotel, but we wouldn't mind staying there again! - GrimGrinningAmanda  323.8 #521 4:29PM
We stayed there for 2 nights and liked it. The pool area is great. They have a toddler pool. You can cut through the Grand to get to the parks faster. It was clean and we had good service. I haven't stayed at the other Disney Resort hotels yet. If you are planning on using the hotel/amenities a lot during your stay, I'd say it's worth it. If you just need a bed, maybe use a good neighbor hotel and save the $$$ for souvenirs, etc. - goofymom2boys  498.1 #243 4:45PM
We are DVC owners and we stay at PP a lot. We get more days for the points there. It is a bit of a walk, but it's worth it to stay longer. We use the Grands shortcut. Just booked a 7 day trip during the Christmas holiday. - Sandy  245.3 #1076 12:00AM
It's nice. We stayed there to celebrate my Mimi's 3rd birthday four years ago. It's a little bit of a walk if you have a stroller and diaper bag (his sister was 1 at the time) but the dining and character breakfast options helped. - BombFrog-formerCM  51.7 #3778 6:27AM

Oh sweet! I just loved this so much last year. Thanks for the update!
My kids loved that last year. Hopefully, they rotate some of the characters, so we can see some new ones. Thx for posting :) - goofymom2boys  498.1 #243 2:13PM
They do rotate the groups out every 20-30 minutes and yes, hopefully there's some new characters - BaseballMickey_CM  2992.9 #15 2:22PM
We saw them all last year. The girls would come out and my boys would dance with them (they developed a crush on the step sisters) and then they would want to wait around for the guys. Captain Hook's limbo was fun and I even danced with Genie. We could have spent hours in there. Can't wait to see who comes to dance this year! - goofymom2boys  498.1 #243 2:29PM

Good for you going to City Hall. I've found that if something isn't right and a CM is alerted, they always find a way to accommodate. Im sorry you had a horrible experience and that disney was able to offer a special surprise and you should complain to city hall or even the cms on the ride sometimes in rides like autopia the trouble makers can be warned and be excorted off the disney property if they continue to misbehave. as far as I know grads are suppose to behave just like any other guest but even more as (not sure I heard this) if a school has to many complaints from their students they may not be offered to come back for future grad night - pikarich  677.6 #159 11:36AM

In my opinion worth it! I have a 2 and 5 year old so I'm up early anyway. We can go on so much in that hour. Also, we usually take a family pic in front of the castle without a million people in the shot. I love it. Prior to kids though, I would've just slept in.

So worth it! We went down last year and were going to upgrade our tix to AP's right away and the CM insisted we still use our magic morning before we upgraded. We've done magic mornings a million times before but were so glad we waited and used it. You pretty much walk onto space mountain the whole time. - PixieDustAway  153.6 #2283 8:38PM
We don't stay at the hotels so we don't get DCA's magic morning hit when we have the hoppers for DL, we love it. I guess depending on the time of year it can be more crowded than most but we always enjoy it. We can always get a lot of stuff in that hour! And then go on what's not open when the park opens fairly quickly too... I would say just avoid Carsland when they have it because RSR will have a long wait if they are open an hour before you can enter. - brodysmommy  246.3 #1062 8:46PM

Renewing premium passholders get a $40 discount which makes the pass the same price as last year. I'm cool with that! The price increase last year for premium was so dramatic- I'm stoked on the additional discount this year.
A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away was a theme park called Disneyland. In the 1990s Disneyland had a major drop in regualr attendance to Disneyland and only offered one type of pass, a premium pass that was 150 then raised to 200 for only ONE park. Because of the declining attendance and lack of Annual Passholders flocking to the parks, mind you these were the days where the was no Rancho Santa Margarita, Irvine was still pretty much fields, no irvine spectrum, everything north of the 15, 91 was cows and no homes, you get what I'm saying they started to do promos and new pass levels to incite people to get to the parks more and even did such things as nighttime shopping passes during Christmas, then the famous 2fer tickets. Well Disney really thought that opening a second park would really boost attendance and be a big smash hit and we all know how that went for 10 years. They did everything they could to get people to come to the parks and created 99 dollar passes, get in free on your bday, give a day get a day, they had promos all year around esp for the locals to just get people in the door for a mediocre experience. From the time frame of 2000 to 2011 Disneyland opened two new attractions buzzlight year and Nemo which pretty much was a refurb of an old attraction. They actually had closed down restaurants in the parks, there were no major of any of the lands, two new parades no new stage shows, reduction in characters in the park and a new firework show for the 50th that they still use. Then you have DCA over that time frame..What happened over there, nothing at all for the most part, it was the same park that lacked in every possible category and the only entertainment they had was the Aladdin show and some street performers and the only thing that could draw locals was brining back ELP but as soon as that was over they left. .These were the final years for Eisner...Since 2010 here is what we have been given...Carsland, 3 attractions, two shows 5 characters. Buena Vista Street featuring two shows, street characters and the fab 5 and a 4 star dining experience, World of color, The Little Mermaid attraction, 3 atmosphere shows, daily live music at the paradise gardens, a refrub off all the entire area, Redwood creek also got a nice redo and updated to get rid of that Brother Bear movie that nobody has seen and replaced it with a Pixar hit of UP with a stage show....Then lets go over to Disneyland....Since 2010 we have a brand new Star Tours experience, new summer time firework show, Princess Fantasy fair, 6 daily character shows, a new parade that is actually very good, a brand new wonderful stage show Mickeys map, diferent celebrations each month for such things as Greek, Valentines, etc etc (BTW those wont be limited time magic next year they will be part of new traditions). Now that DCA is finally where they want it your going to start hearing about more new things unveiled this summer for Disneyland like the new Tomorowland and other things as well....Pretty much everyone was conditioned to pay a lower price for sub-par product and now you are getting 300% more band for your buck with all of the new things the parks have to offer Well now the parks are at a place where the demand to get in is at an all time high and its both parks. Not only are you locals wanting to come at record numbers but people are traveling from all over the world again to visit the parks because there is something here again that makes people want to visit. For fun and games, go look on the AP website and take the number of visits you have made in a year and divide it by the total price of your Annual pass, its pretty low for a lot of us who go a lot. For instance if I go 100 times a year its about 6.79 dollars a visit., not bad!! I know its not easy for a lot of us continue to get passes as it keeps increasing but you have to take a look at some of what I said. The demand out weighs the supply and increasing prices is the only way to cut back attendance and make your visits more enjoyable while at the same time they can keep coming up with new exciting shows and attractions that keep us coming back year after year and not leaving us with a stale product. I guess we should all be grateful that we live in Southern California and are surrounded by so many other things to do such as enjoy the beaches, the parks we have, the mountains, Knots, Magic Mountain, Sea World, the zoo the banana stand,...Ok I have writer cramp - Dave  8823.5 #2 10:54AM

That's exactly what I was thinking! Word for word! 😂😂😂 No but seriously, that is very well put and VERY true! - SPandEvLover  819.4 #116 11:03AM
We don't live in SoCal but if APs were cheaper we would have them every year. But they're not, which is a bummer on one hand but I feel lucky to be able to go to DL at all...I really do. Of course I wish APs were cheaper but it really is Supply/Demand just like you explained earlier. So to me it makes sense even though I'm not excited about it. I am impressed with this write up BTW, very thorough. 😊 - MinnieMousewife  636.1 #174 11:07AM
THIS👆!!!! Perfectly stated! Yes, increases are tough, but you get what you pay for. It is unfortunate that it will cause a strain for some...but remember that there are people who have NEVER experienced DL. Gas prices go up, food prices go up, car prices go up....it's life! And yes to figure out your # of visits in one year. Then ask yourself "is it worth it". Consider how much you spend on movies, Starbucks, per year...when you add it all up, was it worth it? - Gia  794.1 #122 11:10AM

Very well stated. I'm okay with the price increase. It's still a great value for the amount of enjoyment we get from our passes. - vernswifevickie  374.1 #377 11:24AM
Exactly what I've been thinking. I know the high price is a bummer but there have also been so many special AP offerings- previews of new attractions, movie screenings, etc. it comes down to a decision of value to the indiviual person. Plus, if DL was not having fantastic attendance than the price wouldn't be what it is. It's supply and demand. Rather than complain just decide if it's worth it. If not, don't buy a pass. If it is, find a way to save the extra money from other places in your budget. Think of how much some people spend on Starbucks (or other coffee places) in a month and then a year. Cut out a couple trips there a week and you could pay for any pass you wanted. - LilSterner  2686.2 #20 11:42AM
"Like" x 1000. Hopefully this will keep the price increase from turning into a crab fest on here. - Linzee  533.2 #219 11:56AM
I understand what you are saying. But not all of us live in Southern California. When I go, I have to pay for a hotel. I have to pay for food. We like to have a good time on vacation, so we have stayed at the DLR exclusively for every visit over the past 10 years. Carsland and all those other changes are wonderful, of course, but since we do not go every week like many of you locals, we don't get tired of things the way many of you might. I was never aware there were different fireworks shows, for example. It's all just fireworks to me. And we enjoy them. Same with parades. We like the parade, even if we aren't aware of what it is called. I think it's definitely a different park experience for those who go frequently and those of us who do not. Of course, a $20 or $30 increase isn't going to break us, it just would Have been nice if they had waited another year, especially after last year's huge increases. We had a good time this year. It was fun seeing all the new stuff, as well as all our old favorites. And Disney will certainly not go bankrupt without those of us who don't go back for a long while. There are always people there waiting to take our place. Supply and demand, as you say. I just miss the more affordable pass prices, as most of us do. - meridafan  1098.7 #75 12:02PM
I agree with these comments. As long as the price increases help with the crowds, I think it makes sense. I do think the experience and in particular the AP experience has really improved over the years (it seems everyone else feels the same - hence the off the charts attendance levels). I feel very lucky and privileged to live in So. Cal. We will only take a hiatus for awhile as our little man turns 3 next year and it is tough to start paying for 4 passports vs. 3 passports! They're so little I feel like we can take a break for awhile and come back with renewed/increased excitement. Although I may go through withdrawal and change my mind. :) On another note, how do I edit the post - it appears my So Cal Select price was wrong and it went up by only $10 vs. $30, to $279 - sorry about that folks! - QueenMiranda  246.7 #1059 12:08PM

I completely agree! Yeah, it's a mighty large chunk of change to get Premium Passes for our family of 5 but they are worth it and we always find a way to come up with the money every year. - Autoalice  137.1 #2533 12:24PM
I think also what a lot of people fail to understand is how a big company works like this. Disney as you know is spread out all over the place from Theme Parks,to cruise lines and to T.V, Movies, Music, Stores, it goes on and on. Well each of those some may say Departments are ran as their own companies and responsible for their own profits and losses within the umbrella of the entire company. It even goes a step further as each department within Disneyland is managed that way as well and has their own budgets and even though the attractions themselves dont have tickets or a cash register, there is a number that is associated per guest that visits that attraction in a day, how many guests go on within a day, so on and so.So for instance when a movie like John Carter which had a budget of 300 million tanks at the box office yes its going to affect the over all company but what is going to get hit hardest is that division of the company. Now that the parks are brining in more revenue it enables them to provide more and more for us as consumers for years to come. If they were just willy nilly raising prices and taking more and more away than you wouldnt see myself or a lot of others renewing. I think its a shame but what this is going to turn into is Disneyland being more of a once or twice a year event instead of a weekly thing but I think we will all be ok and find other fun things to do - Dave   8823.5 #2 12:29PM
Well said. I think the price is well worth it and we come from NorCal! So we make to the parks about 10 times a year (sometimes more). - PrincessLeia  263.7 #906 12:36PM

Hahaha. Awesome Dave. Now I'm mad our post and conversation got removed last night. Haha. People.... Prices change, things get better. Disneyland is a luxury, NOT an entitlement! It is a company to make money. Yes they make out dreams come true, but the reason they cost so much is because they are the best! If it wasn't the best, you wouldn't pay those prices! (ie, knotts, sea world, long beach aquarium, magic mountain, universal studios). If you want cheaper go to those places. - sunshinegates  369.8 #389 2:05PM

Premium AP holder, and shareholder. The latter takes some of the sting out of it. I would encourage every Disney fan to own a piece of the company - MelodyMouse  943.0 #95 12:27PM
After finishing my business class, I have seriously been thinking about doing that. - Lelundrial  344.9 #436 2:26PM
Well it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks the payment plan should be discontinued. Like others have said Disneyland is a luxury, not a right. Plain and simple: you can either afford it or you can't. It shouldn't be up to Disney to bend over backwards to make things cheaper just because you live nearby and have a big family and want visit every couple of weeks. If you can't afford the upfront cost of a pass, do what everyone else does...visit once a year. And make a nice big trip of it. - NotNKansasAnymor  184.4 #1847 2:01PM
Seriously? Disney has a brain and knows that the local ppl will come more often. Why not make it a way that makes it easier for them. So you're telling me that if you lived close, you wouldn't take advantage of the payment option? I can pay upfront if I wanted, but if I'm given this option, why not take advantage of it?! - caramiapoohAKAface  1526.8 #53 2:12PM
Disney DOES make it easy, it's called the payment plan. Lol! I live 20 minutes away, I have a Premier Pass and I visit about once every two weeks, sometimes more, and I pay for it upfront. I do that because I can AFFORD it. Why would I want to spend a year of my life being in debt to Disney? To me, one payment once a year = hassle free. - NotNKansasAnymor  184.4 #1847 2:21PM
Paying a few bucks a month is just an easier deal for most people. And with no interest charged, who wouldn't want to do it that way? I think it's a great option and hopefully they keep it! - meridafan  1098.7 #75 2:30PM
I think you're assuming Disney wants the parks to be less crowded, which they might if there was no payment plan. If they did do away with payment plans, you can pretty much count on much larger increases to fill the void. - Gia  794.1 #122 2:34PM
I guess I better remember this when purchasing my next car or house...only get it if I can AFFORD it and pay it all upfront!!! 😜😜😜 - caramiapoohAKAface  1526.8 #53 2:37PM
@gia; I (as I said above) would be happy to pay more (a lot more) for an improved product. - georgieporgie  125.0 #2699 2:41PM
You're right Kansas! They should also cancel payment plans on cars, mortgages, year long apartment leases. All of them should be gone. Can't afford it up front, find something cheaper. 😏 - Waites4DodgerEars  689.0 #153 5:13PM

I get so irritated when people do the same thing to me. I just don't understand why anyone feels the need to comment on my life. I mean, it's my money and I work for hard for it. Why would people care how I spend it and where I spend time with my family? We are a family of 4 who look forward to going to Disneyland once a month. And that's ...bad? A friend said to me recently "it just seems like it  More...
When I go the parks it's my escape -even if its just for a few hours- it my ME time. When I'm there I don't worry about anything at all. I can do what I want eat what I want scream on rides play fun games laugh with friends (or by myself) cry during shows or just sit and watch people and do nothing. If more people just relaxed and went to Disneyland the world would be a much happier place...that's what I tell people when they call me a Disney freak- you are not alone!!! 😘 - missariel33  133.7 #2581 12:31PM

Why would people care how I spend it and where I spend time with my family? We are a family of 4 who look forward to going to Disneyland once a month. And that's ...bad? A friend said to me recently "it just seems like it wouldn't be special to the kids anymore". We had a little discussion. First of all it is special to them everytime we go and they look forward to this family time. Second, why would anyone care if my kids were sick of Disneyland or not? They're my kids, it's our money, it's our weekend time and we take our kids to Disneyland once a month. HOW IS THAT BAD? Sorry for yelling, I just don't understand why people feel the need to comment on other people's lives. - tballzz  393.5 #349 1:08PM
Why am I a Disney freak...I have a very stressful job working with children in the foster care system. Disneyland recharges me mentally and helps me cope with stress. It is my escape. - tballzz  393.5 #349 1:16PM
People do the same thing to me. They also question why I would ever go back on my days off and how am I NOT sick of it yet?!?! It's a special place to me. My home away from home and I can forget my real life while I'm there. I feel "at peace" when I'm there. I've learned that Disneyland is a bit exclusive and people are upset over how costly it is. But like you said, it's my money and no ones business how I spend it. Disney has always and will always be a huge part of my life - CM_Tamstirr  353.8 #416 1:17PM
We used to get that from various friends. Disneyland is our happy place, makes us feel young and carefree again, forget all the stresses and pressures of our day-to-day lives! One of my best friends that used to say things like that to us recently bought passes and now goes as often as us! The magic is contagious! - dalefishtank  149.6 #2345 11:51PM
My love of Disney started out young, but now since I work there, I spend a lot of time at the parks. Other than that, I am proud to call myself a Disney freak by having the music from most of the attractions on my phone at all time. Disneyland gives me the chance to leave my worries and stress behind and provides me a happy place where I can relax and enjoy the magic that it holds. - BaseballMickey_CM  2992.9 #15 11:55PM

Sending positive energy and prayers to Alex and April.
This is a perfect example of people who've been here since the beginning, but don't have strong visibility in the Lounge. They've helped behind the scenes with MouseWait since day one, and they've stuck with us throughout the years supporting every app we've launched, every book, they stay at the Hojo because they know it helps MouseWait, and so much more . This is a reminder that just because you don't recognize a username or a face, it doesn't mean they haven't played a huge part in the success of MouseWait. This is one reason why I've never liked the "OG" label because there are so many people like April and Alex who aren't well-known in the Lounge, but they've been there for MouseWait prior to the launch, and have remained loyal ever since. - Admin 11:14AM
Just wanted to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone for their prayers and well wishes! Alex is doing ok, his pain levels seem to be on a roller coaster along with everything else that's going on. My mom flew in from TX yesterday and that has already been a huge blessing!! Our youngest son (we have 3; 13, 10 & 4) came down with something over the weekend and keeps running a very high fever and I had to take him to the ER (at the same hospital) on Monday nite and they ended up doing a spinal tap to test for meningitis, which turned out to be negative, thankfully!! He's doing ok, but we are alternating tylenol/advil every few hours round the clock cuz otherwise his fever returns as does the pain in his head/eyes/stomach, etc. We will also be following up with his pediatrician if it doesn't clear up in another day or so. It's been an UNREAL ride this past week, but I know for sure that we're being carried through this on the prayers of wonderful people like you and others across the country and world. Alex still needs at least 1-2 more surgeries on his foot, which they have not yet set or fixed as the swelling is still too high. We're also hoping to get him transferred to a hospital that's about 10 mins from our house, instead of where he is now that's over an hour away. After his foot surgery he has rehab to work with him and teach him how to get in and out of his wheelchair and move around, etc. We have a long road ahead and I'm sure we'll hit a lot more bumps, but we are just so thankful that he is HERE and survived, no brain damage, no spine or vital organs damage, so we have MUCH to be thankful for! We definitely appreciate your continued prayers for the duration!!! - BluRayn  34.6 #4259 2:01PM

What a great video! In my opinion, if you dint watch either Fantasmic and/or the fireworks show, you did not experience Disneyland the way it should be. - AngieVasquez  24.5 #4776 10:26PM
