Pin Spotting: Hey MWers! Check out these pins that Mickey74 gave me at the park today (thanks honey) that he found on cast member lanyards! The top picture is the legitimate pin as shown on pinpics.com. The bottom two are unauthorized. Just looking at the front of these pins can you see all of the differences? Holding these pins you would find that they are too light and thin to be legitimate Disney pins. The dark colored genie's pin is larger than the others as well. There are errors on the back too, but we don't need to see the backs to make a good judgment call on these pins! A great example that all unauthorized pins are not created equal! Watch for the MW pin spotting Kindle book to be released in the near future! Happy trading MWers! |

I get the picture switches only in the park. The other one is an in park only thing, trying to update rides times in fantasy land gets wierd. For example trying to post a time for storybook land and it pops open with king arthur carrousel or trying to update mr toads comes up with peterpan. I stood there opening them all to find which one was which. - Plumiegirl

Second and third story balconys in NOS. Bird cages with "birds". I never noticed the pitcher of iced tea before (the cubes are magical and don't melt lol). Also the chair and table from the third story are actually very small like toddler furniture. An interesting fact: all of the railings visible to guests but inaccessible to them are made of rubber. |

#PIN SPOTTING I bought this from Ebay. There were two of these pins up for auction from different sellers. Limited 300 imagineer exclusive. Pin on pin. It was $20. I also purchased two lots from two different sellers, totaling 50 pins. Out of all of these most were counterfeit, several were scrappers, and one or two were legitimate pins that were damaged beyond what would be deemed acceptable for trade. I hope those who use Ebay check what you get before recirculating in the parks please! Watch for the MW kindle book "Spotting Unauthorized Disney Pins" to be released soon. Happy trading MWers! |

Thanks for all the tips and info. I have said this before but as someone who does brave EBay...always make sure the seller offers a full refund. I also check their feedback. Usually, scrapper sellers sell pins at high volume and this has a high feedback score. Check their feedback and if one person under Negative or Neutral suspects they sell fake pins - move on. This method isn't fail proof as some sellers can have 100% positive and still sell scrappers. However, it can help a little...
Also, I try not to buy pins where they use generic stock photos or take pics off Pinpics.com
They have to have a real photo of the pin. Also, I tend to shy away from high price ones that aren't on their original backer cards with an actual pic of the pin.
Just my tips. There ARE honest EBay sellers, but you just need to be sharp and unfortunately sometimes, it is trial and error :( - Aquata
