That is so cool
No show. There was a nicer dressed gentleman (no suit or tie) but a name tag and he was standing off to the side. He had a remote in his hand and he prompted them to say the magic words and then he would release it. He didn't do it for every one.  - mommalostone  53.9 #4212 4:06PM

I like the Disneyland Hotel better.
I can only judge by the pictures I've seen on here but depending on where your able to get a room I'd say Grand Californian. There are rooms that over look Carsland, Mickey's fun wheel, and you get a view of WORLD OF COLOR depending on when you go back to your room. - Donaldfan_532  230.8 #1463 10:38AM
I agree!  If you could swing it financially, getting a theme park view at the Grand would be my vote.  I especially love the area overlooking GRR.  And they have balconies! - MrsFletch  92.8 #3468 8:42AM
Both are wonderful. The Grand is more "adult". The woods/courtyard view is just okay but if you mention there is a celebration you may get an upgraded view. Love the location and feel of the Grand but DL Hotel is a fave because it really feels Disney and the pool view is fun. You can splurge on Napa Rose with the difference in the price. - ShariRenee  4125.3 #22 11:10AM
Oh man! I was leaning towards grand but you just made it harder!! Haha thanks for your thoughts!  - mrstrmiller  503.3 #361 11:20AM
Agree with ShariRenee. I have stayed at the Grand once, and it immediately felt more adult to me. It also just did not feel like a Disney hotel in the way the Pier and DL hotel feel. - Lelundrial  463.1 #396 11:44AM
Our Favorite of all the Disney Hotels is the Grand. The Theme Park Views are amazing.  On our last visit it was booked so we stayed at The Paradise Pier. It was for our 20th Anniversary and they upgraded us to a Theme Park View. It was great.  The hotel Staff even came in and decorated our Room.  I would recommend looking at the Pier too! - luvthemouse  148.9 #2570 9:27AM
The grand courtyard view hands down! Disneyland hotel is fun but the grand for me is unforgettable it may be because that is where I fell in love with my boyfriend but I  have stayed at both hotels and just love the courtyard at the grand  - excmdlgurl  267.8 #1053 10:26AM

Inoventions has a lot of stops inside when I went a couple years ago
Okay so last year when I went I already was in my costume for they day since it was more of a Disney bounding thing. I know that they won't let you into the party until 4 if you have a ticket only for MHP, but I would suggest being at the park for the day or making sure you get here at 3:30 or so, so that you can get in right when they allow it. The reason for this is that people start trickling into the parks and getting their trick or great bags and it is really fun to see all the costumes arrive and have time to enjoy them before it is dark. Also, you can get your wristband and bag in Frontier land and since you're already in the park the line is pretty quick and painless. The trick or treat lines are great! They are quick moving and they are located all over. I would definitely suggest starting in Frontier land, at the Golden Horse shoe and then working myself back behind Big Thunder then towards Toon Town, etc. many cms reported that the lines were usually quicker when starting in Frontier land and working your way back because most people work from The other direction from Mainstreet to Tomorrow land and then around to end at Frontierland. There are two parades and the fireworks are in between them so to make sure your kids are still awake for the parade I would definitely go to the first one. There are lots of great things to see as well. Since I am not at the park nearly as much as you I also went in quite a few rides and was still able to meet the villains up by the train station on Mainstreet. If you would rather enjoy the ambiance and not as much of the rides, I know that they would rotate the villains out every hour or so, so you may want to check on the villains occasionally through out the night so you have the opportunity to meet more. They were also unusually fun. They really went out of their way to interact with the guests. Also, I did notice that the lines for the villains was much shorter as the night went on because people had spread throughout the park. There are also little things that you can do that are pretty cool and only are available during MHP like seeing the Dapper Dans on the ROA. Overall I would suggest enjoying the overall theming and ambiance of the park since its only available for MHP and focus less on rides, (even though I was able to do all if those things I was still able to do quite a few rides.) also, I really cannot explain to you the small town community feeling that is present. I really do not enjoy Toon Town, but their trick or treat line was my favorite. It really felt like trick or tricking in a small community. It was very fun and organized and the cms were amazing. Also, if your kids are getting tired. Cms don't mind if you hit a line more than once. I hope you guys have a wonderful time! They will absolutely love it! Hope that helps. :)  - BellesLibrary  371.4 #531 5:11PM
Great tips here!  Also, there are plenty of healthy choices now. It isn't all about candy.  - MeridaFan  3273.9 #28 6:23PM
lol that's very true. However, about 30 min into trick or treating last year I noticed that my bag was almost full or Crasins and granola bars and what not. So I started giving them to kids who wanted them and telling the CMs chocolate only please lol🍫MeridaFan - BellesLibrary  371.4 #531 8:34PM
Great reply! Thanks for the info! - MomWithAJuiceBoxBuzz  1054.4 #139 6:50AM
We went last year with two little ones. My mistake was getting into the treat lines immediately (the lines were long). My son pooped out quickly so he and my husband went back to the hotel room. My daughter and I decided to go on some attractions, which were walk-on. Afterwards, we went back to the treat lines which were very short. So this time around we plan to visit the attractions first and then go to the treat lines. I hope you have a wonderful time! - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  44.1 #4524 4:54PM

Thank you all sooo much!! This is perfect! So much great info! Does anyone who's already been happen to know if fireworks are at the usual time and what time the parade is? - RCmom  5094.3 #15 9:07AM
per BBM's post (I just bumped) 9:30pm for fireworks (something not to be missed)! The Parades are at 8:30 & 10:30 - FrankenweenieVelinee  1316.6 #97 9:49AM
I will also say that the "parade" is less of a parade and just a cavalcade of a few characters... The dance parties are much more worth it to dance with the characters. - justcallmeKP   232.5 #1438 10:32AM
