First world problems at its finest
So let me get this straight. You are blaming an unofficial app for your loss of 45 minutes whe A: the early entry tickets say what time you can enter (or there's a sheet that does), B: you can access the official website but decided to use an unofficial site instead, C: are on property and can ask a CM when it opens and D: people are saying it said 9am. Did I miss any facts? - CM_Shadowgamer  2356.6 #46 9:17AM
I'm really sorry you missed your magic morning but I don't think it's fair to put all responsibility on an app. I'm a big fan of checking Disneylands official website when checking hours, refurbs, etc.. I hope you enjoy the fact that you are in the parks now and enjoy every minute and that you get to be there at all. - LisaMouse7531  410.1 #463 8:57AM

I honestly doubt the crowds are going to change much. You have to remember how many people in California have a pass, and heck some of them might not even notice the increase of price. Wanna know why? Because no matter what, people will always continue to buy when it comes to Disneyland. Sure, a group of 100 protestors can choose to boycott Disney parks, but do you think that's really going to cha  More...
Here's the deal. Last year Disney was thinking about ending the AP park hoppers due to it will be over crowed in Cars Land. They said it will be more locals in DCA then tourist. So my guess is at the last min was to raise park prices to control AP guess. It hasn't been a full year from the last price increase. No theme park in the world is worth $649 a year in AP. it may be a deal to a single person, but to a family of 4 or 6, it's really out of there budget. That's a price of a small car payment. It's sick what there doing. - Gadgetman  288.9 #868 8:20AM
I agree with Gadgetman...If i was single the price wouldn't bother me. When you have a family of 4 or more then its out of the budget. - bigpete  277.1 #957 8:58AM
I am single, and with only one income the price hike is very difficult for me, not as bad as a large family, but still... - BRabbit  529.0 #335 9:00AM

Yeah, looks like I won't be cold chillin with all the MW'rs anytime soon. And that's with both my wife and I holding jobs! Sads. Seems like now-a-days spending time browsing MW is more about watching other people shop shop shop and spend spend spend, while I save save save. Why don't you just go once in awhile instead of everyday. I think you are getting a bargain. - Mickeyandfriends  4.8 #16598 10:49AM
Oh I agree! As a single mom I am going back and forth as to if I am going to be able to afford to renew our AP's. This is a difficult decision because we have made some amazing friends through Mouse Wait and it's going to be hard not seeing them as often. I pray that things work out so we may get our APs renewed this year. - ohhhtoodles  365.2 #547 11:07AM
As a single person that new premium price bothers me and very upsetting. Disney is becoming very very greedy. Even more kids won't be able to enjoy Disney because of the prices. Great Job Disney Executives!! - mstiauna27  89.9 #3522 11:36AM
I have to disagree. I'm disappointed as well, but what is sick is the fact that people coming to Disney for a two day trip which is probably there once a year Vaccation, and can't hardly do anything because lines are soo long. As you mentioned, they could have completely done away with the program, but they didnt. Disneyland is the ONLY park that is worth this price. It will still pay for itself in a very limited number of visits. We have been very spoiled. I have friends all over the world who would die to go to Disneyland. I also have friends that are considered under poverty, and never been, even at old price. Everything is relative, and we need to understand this theory! - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1047 12:10PM
Going to Disneyland as often as you want is a luxury and not a right. I think it's sad when we become sooo complacent that we feel we are ENTITLED to do these very luxurious trips. Some families save for years, just to go for a few days in their entire life. I'm sorry, but this bugs me. Again, I'm disappointed that I can't afford the new passes, but I would never call Disney names or make blanket statements where the realities are being severely distorted. I DON'T LIKE IT, but I understand it, is a fair statement. - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1047 12:17PM
You need to spin your outlook on it. If you do payments...let's say it's $40/$50 a month....that is STILL cheaper than a one day ticket. So even if you go once a month your going at a discounted rate. I'm single but fortunate enough to have a well paying job so I can continue going. If its that important to go maybe there are other luxuries you can cut out. Maybe here isn't. But as Zipp said...it is a luxury. - KissDclown  1089.3 #135 12:24PM
Now I'm really gonna rustle some feathers, I'm going to still get a pass, not sure which one, but with less people buying premium passes, my day will be much more enjoyable! Even handicap lines are out of control this year! Thank you Disney! - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1047 12:26PM
Well I was talking to Alex (churrohoarder) and he said the price increase is really only going to amount to one less dinner per month either at Disneyland or another resturant or maybe bringing the kids anacks rather than buying snacks. Once he put it like that I wasn't quite so sad. I guess I have to make dinner once a month now. But in all honesty, Disneyland is a part of our life, it will make lines shorter and will weed some of the younger teens out that have potty mouths. So if you look at the positives, it will probably be a good thing! 😁 - Minnis2Society  369.9 #538 1:52PM
Im sure there are potty mouths that can afford it XD - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  4075.7 #23 2:08PM
It all comes to supply and demand. Even after the increase I'll bet you don't see much of a drop in attendance. And I think it's still a helluva bargain. Check out a 2hr show in Vegas for $120.00 or more per person - nitromouse  275.3 #974 3:34PM
Wow I have been a pass holder for only one year, but sadly after this news my family of six has decided not to renew. 😔 - ChadP  6.6 #12400 5:48PM
$150 increase for Premium AP is unjustifiable. :( - PrinceCorey  4320.8 #20 7:35AM
Yes it is. My guess is cars land went over budget by the same 30% - Vinylchaser  1945.7 #63 7:39AM
Don't forget part of the 150 is the 30 bump for parking so it's 120 AP increase plus the 30 parking increase It's still a jump - mike714  338.1 #619 7:55AM
About 8 years ago it cost $199. What happened! For several years we've lived with refurbs and ride closures and still endured yearly price hikes! Now Bamm! - jacdanfan  7151.0 #6 9:02AM
Agreed. I agree with what some are saying about, "don't complain, Disney isn't a requirement, it's a luxury," but a 30% (or so) jump is absurd. That's not ethical. - KylaShea  629.1 #267 9:27AM
THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - splashphotoCM  885.6 #169 10:09AM
$30 for parking!?? - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  4075.7 #23 10:37AM
parking hasn't increased (yet). it's still $15 on the website. doesn't mean that it won't go up.. but i can see it going to $20, not $30... but then again, i'm sure we all saw a 10% increase, not 30%.. sigh. I'd like to think part of the reason was Disney Paris losing 2% net income last year, and Tokyo Disney losing 1% from the Tsunami/quake closure.. and the ridiculously expensive and lavish Aulani resort that opened last year as well. And... the unopened Shanghai Disney that's slated to open in a few years.. money has to come from somewhere and fund other places. sighhh, again. - SultanPprShkr  328.9 #656 3:52PM

It wasn't their best marketing idea. I doubt one 24 hr period of letting the crazies run amok makes up for the revenue gained from a year long promo. Guests need something to get excited about and look forward to. - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2470 7:36AM
I worked in Adventureland (more specifically Indiana Jones) last night, and while there were the occasional hooligans, I was amazed at the overall attitude of the crowd.  Everyone I talked to were real troopers and didn't mind the waits, or if they did they asked if there was something else in the area to experience.  I had a blast interacting with guests and fellow cast members.  It did get a little crazier than the company anticipated, but it was the first time in a long time that they had ever done something like this.  You folks spent time at the parks and made awesome memories.  So glad I could have been a part of a great experience!

We do leave when the troops get tired but they don't really get tired until midnight most of the time. I wouldn't drag them around if they were beat, they aren't much fun when they reach that point ;) Last night didn't look safe to have the kids there much past midnight!! We wrapped up and were out the gates by around 1:30. After gawking at the crowds we walked to the car and sat there for a bit getting everyone situated. They fell asleep in the car on the drive home of course. I don't see how you are having fun anymore with grumpy kids. They always make sure you and everyone around you can't ignore them LOL - Autoalice  157.6 #2453 3:56PM

Glad I made the decision to come home early. Once 6am comes the park is going to be mayhem and the parking structures and freeways will be even worse! - PrincessCarmen  2589.4 #38 3:42AM

Any ideas on how much the food costs? - storminmormon  21.9 #6093 12:04PM
It would probably be cheaper for us because no one in my family drinks alcohol. - storminmormon  21.9 #6093 10:41PM
Lunch and dinner have different menus and prices. Lunch is buffet style and dinner is off a menu. Dinner will run 85 - 100. I have not been to lunch so not sure of the price or food served. Have fun! - Disneymba  39.3 #4730 11:54PM

Ok I've seen girls act completely desperate and beg for a guy between certain ages and share their interests and absolutely no one flamed them for it before, so what makes this different?
You might want to edit that post and leave off the part of a lovely young lady joining you. - DizGeek  453.6 #409 9:42AM
