They incorporated MSEP music in with the new song. I thought the whole thing was fantastic. The MSEP won't be coming back, it's staying in FL. I understand the nostalgia with MSEP but its time to move forward and Disney did a great job with the advancements in technology.

Disney absolutely did an amazing job, agree wholeheartedly!  I do think there is room for MSEP at DCA. I'm a child of the 70's so it was "my parade". When it was at DCA three generations of my family saw the parade together.  I can't even describe the look on my moms face. Watching her watch us and her grandkids who were seeing it for the first time. Magical!  I pray that we can do that again for PTL.  - PrincessDuckie  817.2 #204 8:10AM
MSEP won't be coming back. I did a tour at the MK with the VP of the park and I asked him if the rumors were true that it was coming back. He told me he really enjoyed the parade and he had no plans of letting it go. You'll just have to take a trip to WDW! :) - wickedale  373.6 #561 10:01AM
Ok good to know!  I am so grateful we got to do the 3 gen thing then when it was at DCA. Since then there have been more grandkids, hopefully we can all watch PTN as a family too. And the young ones can carry on this tradition for future generations. πŸ˜€ - PrincessDuckie  817.2 #204 1:42PM
I feel the same about the music. I'm just not a huge fan of Wreck It Ralph, but love the MSEP music worked into it. - HASMGS  657.3 #272 11:32PM
I can't wait to see it in person though! - HASMGS  657.3 #272 11:33PM
I knew the song sounded familiar but didn't get it was from Wreck It Ralph until I read on MW. So how much did you love experiencing it last night?!  - PrincessDuckie  817.2 #204 8:11AM
Oops I read "though" as "tonight". I hope you get to see it soon! - PrincessDuckie  817.2 #204 8:12AM
I loved the parade! I think Disney did an excellent job with Paint The Night! - Chris65  6.7 #13268 2:23PM
I didn't intend to see the parade at the 24 hour event because i figured it would be too crowded, however, I found myself with a front row view at the 1 am showing with some other wonderful MWers, and I LOVED it!!! What a gift that Disney has once again given us!!! So visually stunning, and since I adore the Wreck It Ralph soundtrack, I couldn't stand still πŸ˜‚ but tried to for the benefit of people standing behind me!!! 900 talented young people auditioned to become a member of the 80 PTN troop!!! Bravo!!! The MSEP will always be special to me, but I can't wait to see this parade again and again!!! - Willierose  2159.8 #62 3:09PM

Which side are you on? We went to harbor first and that was nuts!!! Walked around to downtown side and got I line for 15 mins and then decided to leave. It just wasn't worth it to stay

If they get as rowdy as they did at 9, and also rowdy at DCA when I left at 11, then I would tell others not to come.  - secretagentangel  1517.9 #99 12:27AM
My family and I are very tempted to leave even after waiting as long as we did to get in because of the drunken people bumping into us constantly and the yelling and the overall unsafe atmosphere. Trying not to let it ruin the rest of the night πŸ˜“ - CabbagesAndKings  6.9 #12942 12:34AM
I'm not trying to make you sad but if you have kids I would leave, it's just a different crowd than usual, and lots getting angry for whatever reason. That's why I left. I hope it all works out!  - secretagentangel  1517.9 #99 12:59AM
It's been getting overly rowdy unfortunately. Drunk people jumping into other people's photos taken by CMs with the time for the 24 hour event. It's definitely taking away from the experience unfortunately. I agree with everyone else, if you have kids I wouldn't come in. I feel bad for people who genuinely want to be here and are stuck outside.   - neelshah  4.6 #0 1:47AM
don't they shut off the booze in dca like in a club?! Β and they should do sobriety checks before they sell people more booze. - MsTikiMermadam  305.6 #811 3:01AM
I was caught in the mob and I was scared of a stampede. Then once they allowed people to go in no bags were checked so those obnoxious drunks were allowed to bring in bottles of booze. DCA at night is just a bunch of intoxicated people. You can smell the alcohol coming off of these people in line. On monsters Inc one guy was falling all over. Still experienced good by some that gave us fast passes. - christianyayabelle  152.4 #2579 1:26PM
This is why I had no desire to go to DCA!!! Why Disney has chosen to serve alcohol in the Park and why people feel the need to show up drunk or sneak in alcohol is something I'll never understand!!  - caramiapoohAKAface  3660.2 #32 1:36PM

This parade was fantastic! Great tributes to MSEP throughout. I can't wait to see it again and again

I can definitely appreciate the sentimental factor that the MSEP holds for many people. Although I'm an adult, this Paint the Night parade is my "generation" (so to speak) as well because I didn't experience Disney parks as a child. The newer Disneyland fans will definitely attach their emotions and memories to this parade! I envy those who have such sentimental attachments to certain things that Disneyland used to have but I'm slowly creating my own sentimental attachments. And that's the absolute BEAUTY of Disneyland. It means so much and so many different things to different people. Ultimately, Disneyland is family. - missmimi90  1864.2 #76 11:34PM
I can't wait to see this new parade but I couldn't agree with you more. My generation grew up with the Main Street Electrical Parade and some of most treasured keepsakes from Disneyland from my youth is two small plastic lights that came off of Pete and one of the fireflys which I grabbed and kept for the last 35 years. This new parade will be awesome and I'm sure my two girls will love it and remember it just as I still love the Electrical Parade.  - K2Dave  50.4 #4485 11:22PM

Are you an annual passholder? Discounts will most likely be released in later summer for the Disney hotels. That's a pretty expensive rate per night so you can always book it and then when discounts come out, change to the new rate. It is always a great time staying on property but you almost are anyway by staying across the street. If the price drops, def do it

Honest opinion here I would spend a little more and stay at the grand or a little less and stay at paradise pier. I have stayed at Disneyland hotel 3 times and was excited each time and to be honest let down. I prefer a view of DCA from paradise much more.  - excmdlgurl  286.6 #926 1:21PM

Just love this attraction. It is historically the first tubular railed rollercoaster and it set the mark for all the other current coasters worldwide. It is from my ancestral home land, and I wish that they would get the yodelers and climbers back on the mountain...just so much more fun. From wikipedia "Use of the Matterhorn both in style and name grew from Disney's extended vacation in Switzerland while filmingΒ Third Man on the Mountain.Β In a moment of inspiration, impressed by the beauty of the real Matterhorn, Walt grabbed a postcard of the mountain from a souvenir stand and sent it back to Imagineer (architect) Vic Greene with the message, β€œVic. I would say do it! At least once. Everyone dresses up, even us big kids. Your kids can get a ton of candy! Different meet and greets are around the park. Plus the ride lines are shorter. The fireworks show is great, however the cavalcade is not that exciting

I went for my birthday last year (it was my first). I would say GO! It was fun to see all of the adults dressed up too, and be able to be part of a different kind of Disney. It was quite busy the night we went, and the character greets were REALLY longπŸ™€, but I enjoyed the experience! It's actually a forever happy memory in my mind because it was just me and my hubby. My hubby is a big Grumpy guy (6'4", 280lbs) and the went trick or treating to each station just for me for my brithday without even a grumble...this is how I know that he loves me more (don't ever tell him I said that)πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet  1121.6 #143 10:08AM

The grad kids are given tickets to both parks so Disneyland can get over run with kids. Just watch your little ones around them.Tthe kids have to be in DCA by 10pm

Welcome to , you're going to be spending such a large amount of time at the resort I wouldn't even worry about the crowds.  Try to hit the parks first thing in the morning and take advantage of fastpass.  Have a great vacation. You shouldn't be running into to many grad nights,  most schools are out by mid June and I think the do a lot of them in May. - richiii3  600.3 #309 11:03AM
πŸ‘†πŸ‘† what he said. Always get there at park opening. Parks get crowded later in the day. You can honestly accomplish so much in those first few hours that the later crowds don't really bother you.  - MeridaFan  3528.6 #36 11:09AM

I'll keep my overall grad night thoughts to myself but I will say it probably won't feel more crowded really because the 60th celebration will have started, it's also close to the end of SoCal and select Passholders being valid for the summer so you will see a lot of people going before they are blocked.  - missmimi90  1864.2 #76 12:16PM
