Well my memory making trip is over she's only 3 I hope she can hold this in her heart forever but that being said I've learned a few things about taking a 3 year old to 2 parks in 2days (when my oldest were little there was only one park) I suggest 2 one day passes even if you can't be in the park all day because they can't do all day anyway

- disneyforme  254.6 #1346 8:07PM
Yes that is a good lesson. We stopped park hopping years ago, we plan on spending all day from open to close and we take a stroller. They napped in stroller and we had some nice quiet time. Hope you had a magical time✨✨ - mmddgp  1064.3 #7 8:20PM
Had a great time but didn't get to do everything park hopping was hard on my feet lol and my sleepy 3 year old granddaughter we went to the hotel for a 3 hour rest/nap and by the time we ate dinner and watched fireworks we had time for one last ride but we made the best of every minute we had - lisaw  177.6 #2326 10:34PM

We made it to the parks this is our magical trip (my granddaughter maycee moves in 10 days) so we are making a memory

She is so cute. The red double stroller parked behind her makes it look like she's got a bigger red bow in her hair than she already does❤️❤️☺️ enjoy your special time making memories with your grandbaby - misschurro...  7271.0 #14 10:14AM

She is soooooo excited she doesn't know where we are going I keep saying maybe a museum or Hawaii lol but this is our only chance to take her to Disney because my daughter,son-in-law and my grand babies are moving 3 stakes away (so heartbreaking for me I'm with them every day while mom and dad work) we will arrive at the grand some time around 11am, can't wait!

That's awesome you can take them. Have fun! Hopefully there will be more trips with them in the future. Enjoy each moment. 💖 - Bassplayerswife  643.1 #325 7:40AM

So excited and sad my son-in-law got transferred to another state and so my daughter and my grand kids will be moving. I wanted to take my grand kids to Disneyland and now have 2 weeks to do so before they go,wasn't planning a trip this soon so only this beauty will be going (brother is too young) we will be there next week! I will be seeing the parks through a 3year olds eyes once again

I hope you have a wonderful trip with your granddaughter.  - RadiatorSprings4Ever  1852.9 #98 12:58PM

Will be coming to the parks in March and feeling a little embarrassed, my arthritis in my knee is so bad I'm going to have to use a scooter I know I'm going to get the "there's nothing wrong with her"look I always feel silly using one I even refused to use them in the grocery store ok sorry just had to complain about me lol

I say who cares what others think. Though I bet no one thinks that, you're just uncomfortable having to ride one so it makes you feel bad not to mention it makes you lower than most so people can't look you in the face as well. But if you need it you should get one so you have a great time! - secretagentangel  6439.3 #20 11:08PM
You are right I just feel silly but it is my new reality, I'm only  in my 40s but have horrible knees if I want to make it a whole day I have to use a scooter I did some permanent damage last Disney trip I'm just so embarrassed lol silly I know  - lisaw  177.6 #2326 11:34PM
It helps you spend time at the park, that's all that matters.  I'm pretty sure there will be more eye brow raises for shorts that are too short than you on your scooter.   So many disabilities and illnesses are hidden, don't let it get to you.  Just enjoy your day ❤️ - Linzee  1349.0 #137 11:47PM
Oh my! The top I saw last night then the bottoms on another with which I hope we're flesh colored leggings! It IS a family park! There so many others to watch, doing fun or wild things , no one will notice your scooter! Ok, unless you have super high shorts on, lol!  - secretagentangel  6439.3 #20 12:00AM

I need some Disney hotel advice I I've stayed at Paradise pier once and Disneyland hotel once but haven't tried the grand because of the price what are the advantages of staying there is it any better than the other hotels I'd love to hear everyone's opinions on all of the hotels it would help me make up my mind. thanks

Personally I would book through the DVC side as it's waaaaay less expensive for a studio villa that includes a premium view and taxes/ resort fees are included. Parking is also free however you must park across the street which is no big deal and you're in an exclusive wing of the hotel. There are 2 DVC rental brokers that are EXCELLENT and are fantastic to work with when renting the points. Not sure I'm allowed to post them here but my honey and I use them every year to book the Grand Californian DVC studio villa for 5 days in December. We really wouldn't pay to stay there any other way as other than the location and gorgeous lobby, paying $450+ a night for a pretty basic brown room (which that's really what it is unless you get a suite) just isn't worth it to us. I think the rooms @ DLand hotel are better however the Grand Californian does offer the wonderful convenience of entering DCA from the hotel. This is just my opinion of course but by renting DVC points, you can get the same room, with balcony overlooking the pool or theme park for a fraction of the cost. The only downside is, you can't book for last minute trips. You must book 7 to 11 months in advance.  - SKELLIGIRL  55.5 #4672 1:18PM
So you don't have to be a DVC member to do that? - Lelundrial  711.3 #283 1:28PM
We are coming in March I'd like to stay on sight because well it's Disney first of all lol and mainly because I have a knee injury and can't walk much at the park I will be using a cart but paying a lot of money just walking issues seems a bit much but since I haven't stayed at the grand I can't judge that's why I was asking advice, I did notice you mentioned a basic room? Thanks and I don't know what dvc is lol I feel dumb now  - lisaw  177.6 #2326 1:31PM
@@SKELLIGIRLWould you mind dm'ing me the brokers you use?  Thank you! - Moog  96.3 #3709 1:45PM
Lelundrial: Nope! You can just be someone looking to rent points. The way it works is, DVC owners who may not be able to use their points a particular year sell them to a reputable broker so they won't lose money. The broker then rents them out to ppl like us who don't want to be actual DVC owners but renters. They're subject to availability which is why you need to book 7 - 11 months in advance. Especially @ Grand Californian due to the fact that they have a very limited number of DVC rooms compared to the WDW resorts. - SKELLIGIRL  55.5 #4672 1:55PM
lisaw: Sorry. DVC means Disney Vacation Club. The basic room I'm referring to is just their standard room. If you have a knee injury then convenience is a matter of neccessity  which means the Grand makes total sense. I know you'll love it regardless it's just hard for my honey and I to pay full price for a room that we've been spoiled by paying far less when we discovered renting DVC points. I'm certain you'll enjoy it especially since it will be your first time staying there.☺ - SKELLIGIRL  55.5 #4672 2:02PM
Moog: Just sent you the info☺ - SKELLIGIRL  55.5 #4672 2:28PM
Can you please send it to me too but I really don't see a problem if you say these two _______ companies are great in my opinion. As long as you don't work there, lol!😊 - secretagentangel  6439.3 #20 6:03PM
secretagentangel: No I don't work @ any of these places but I was so happy when I found them. I'll DM you the info☺ - SKELLIGIRL  55.5 #4672 6:21PM

We stayed at the Grand once and while it was an amazing experience being right above Soarin' and GRR, I'd only do it again on special occasion. It truly was amazingly convenient to be so close, so much so I can't wait until next time. That and the added guest services perks.  I live in Seattle but have an AP and come down quite often, most trips are stays across the street on Harbor or Katella. - SarahAnne  1.1 #0 12:35AM
If I had to stay onsite I'd pick DL hotel. The pool is better, the room service has more options, plus there's a coffee house, trader sams  and steakhouse 55 for breakfast. The room is cute and quiet. They give tours and games for kids for free. The Grand lobby is beautiful but the rooms are just a standard room you get anywhere, even the upgraded ones don't seem like that much more "Disneyfied". Their pool is nice but I think the rest of the hotel does not match the beauty of the lobby and a few ground areas. Disney's policy on microwaves in the room is that they are not allowed due to a fire hazard and that's hard for me when I need to get up eat and go. Rooms at the Grand can fluctuate between $300 - $700. If you get a convention deal you can get lower cost. But it is a long walk back to the hotels or a wait for monorail. The Grand is a bit of walking inside too. The hotels across from the park are actually closer and some close ones still have shuttles. Candy cane inn has a shuttle though they're close, but remember that the drop off is pretty close to harbor so a hotel right across the street is just as close though you'll have to cart  across one crosswalk. The new courtyard looks amazing and there are a lot of restaurants around the harbor hotels . The majestic has a shuttle but I believe you pay for that and parking and its on the other side of DL so you don't have a lot of close restaurant options. - secretagentangel  6439.3 #20 2:25PM
