I'm a 27 year old mom of 1 future Disney lover and wife of 1 who just tolerates the parks. I love going to the parks, playing kickball, and reading.

What's the best way to get to Downtown Disney parking? Thank you!

If you are coming from Ball Road or I-5 South (exit Disneyland Dr/Ball Road), head south onto Disneyland Dr. Stay in the right lane (left lanes will take you to Mickey and Friends parking structure. Turn right onto Magic Way and the DTD parking is on the left.  - NotReallyGrumpyBill  1174.0 #189 9:41PM

Do most school districts go back to school this week? My mom and I have Thursday off and our passes are good again, we just weren't sure about crowds. Thanks!

Most schools go back on Tuesday, but Anaheim schools go back on the 9th.  - BaseballMickey  9257.9 #14 12:43PM
Thank you! Our local school district goes back the 10th, but break started later compared to others. - KelstersInc2319  65.8 #4588 12:47PM

Alright folks...what is your favorite breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack between both parks? I don't eat breakfast at the resort, chicken skewers at Paradise Garden Grill for lunch, pommes frites and gumbo at Cafe Orleans for dinner, and a pretzel.

Where is your favorite place to eat breakfast in the parks and outside (Downtown Disney and surrounding area)? I'm trying to plan some eating spots for my family this weekend. I never get to the parks early enough for breakfast so I'm clueless. Thank you!

My mini and I spent part of our day at the parks and ate lunch at Flo's. While there, an amazing CM named Steam, offered to help me with my tray since I was also pushing a stroller. He walked with me outside to a table and was very polite and friendly. Shortly after he stopped by and gave my daughter the Lightning McQueen kids meal holder. I made sure to give him a compliment at Guest Services. I   More...

Trying to decide between Goofy's Kitchen and PCH Grill Breakfast with Mickey for brunch to celebrate my daughter's 2nd birthday. Your opinions are much appreciated.

She's almost 2 already?!  Oh my goodness!  Where does the time go?  I'm no help because I haven't done either and my daughter is afraid of the characters!  Hope some other MWers can help! - IDVandalSkipperCM  2754.2 #64 5:58PM
I know, I can't believe it! She was scared of the characters at first but has responded much better to them lately. How is your little one doing? - KelstersInc2319  65.8 #4588 3:02PM
I love Goofy's  - disneyland4me  251.8 #1478 6:02PM
My vote is Goofys Kitchen - UTDISNEYFAMILY  3415.7 #54 6:03PM
We like both. Surf's up didnt have as many characters as Goofys but you got more time with them. Its more a relaxed atmosphere than Goofy's which is even more that Plaza Inn. We are going back to Goofy's for my sons birthday in April. - keepmovingforward  276.3 #1249 7:32PM

Opinions wanted: I would like to book a character dining experience for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She knows most of the classic characters. What location do you all suggest? And do you prefer breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Thanks!

I suggest Plaza Inn for breakfast...she will see Minnie for sure and others likely include Tigger, Eeyore, Chip & Dale, the Fairy Godmother and that's all I can think of at the moment.  We actually went there for my son's 2nd birthday several years ago. 😊 - MinnieMousewife  928.2 #245 4:32PM

Thank you! Is there one outside of the parks that you think might be a good back-up?  - KelstersInc2319  65.8 #4588 5:19PM
There are lots of restaurants within 2 miles of parks what kinda food you like - grumpyinphx  969.3 #236 5:27PM
I meant character dining at the hotels just in case the grandparents don't/can't pay for park admission. - KelstersInc2319  65.8 #4588 5:37PM
Yes goofy kitchen at disneyland hotel - grumpyinphx  969.3 #236 5:43PM
I second Goofy's Kitchen & The PCH Grill in the Paradise Pier Hotel also has character buffet dining. Theirs is beach themed with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Stitch, and I think Pluto. It's also a little cheaper than Goofy's Kitchen, but I think GK has better variety. - MimiMouse  1049.1 #219 8:11PM

My husband and I will be at the parks Sunday with our little girl for her 1st birthday. I was thinking of bringing a small handmade sign the characters can hold up in pictures with her as well as watching Soundsational. Does anyone have any other ideas? We have passes and she has already been a handful of times.

Happy Birthday!  I hope it's a magical day for her!  (Sorry, no advise.  My little one is 17) - AZDisney  610.5 #393 9:33PM

Found a lot of Jake, Sofia, Doc McStuffins, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse items in the $1 section at Target. There are socks, pencils, coloring books, water bottles, lunch tins, snack containers, as well as play packs with stickers, crayons and small coloring books.

Earlier today I was walking past Star Tours and noticed a handful of security, Tomorrowland, and regular clothed employees surrounding a double stroller. I assumed perhaps a suspicious package or something of the sort caught their attention. However, there was a small child sleeping in the stroller with no apparent guardian around. Does anyone know the steps Disney takes in order to locate the par  More...

Usually take to baby care center (lost and found) unless something health wise wrong. Parent has to come claim. Probably get a good tongue lashing. Maybe LAPD since that's what happens at closing if unclaimed. - DLKenCA  3769.4 #50 9:50PM
I had a terrible feeling in my stomach thinking about that child. I would not feel comfortable just handing the child back over to the parents without contacting some sort of authority.  - KelstersInc2319  65.8 #4588 10:17PM

I've seen panicked parents looking for children within seconds of the little ones running away, vice versa. But this child was left in the stroller. Worried my mom and I. - KelstersInc2319  65.8 #4588 9:50AM

Is the Billy Hill and the Hillbillies show viewable while dining at the bbq place within the Big Thunder Ranch area?

They do have picnic tables by the big stage, though, so you can bring food in from quick service eateries.  - Atora  2702.2 #65 9:53AM

I'm going to the parks tomorrow with my husband and daughter to celebrate my birthday. I would like to make reservations for lunch or dinner at a restaurant and would like suggestions from all of you wonderful MWers. I've already been to Blue Bayou and was contemplating perhaps Ariel's Grotto or one of the hotel restaurants. Thanks!

Is your daughter older or younge ? I vote storytellers if with younger kids and steakhouse 55 otherwise. Also what do you like to eat? Wine country trattoria is yummy if you like pasta. Ariel's grotto has changed the menu and I haven't been since but I've heard good things. Search it if you'd like as I know a few MWrs have been recently. :) - missariel33  2115.6 #95 5:29PM

Is there outside eating areas for the food places located in Carsland? I've only seen pics of the inside and sign at Flo's, so I wasn't sure.

There is some limited bench seating in the Cozy Cone area and some benches between Sarge's and Flo's, and a large seating area that loops all the way around the back of Flo's. Hope that helps - Firelt  238.6 #1646 12:51PM
