Sometimes people who appear able-bodied also use this amazing viewing experience due to other issues. For example, my mom will sometimes become very anxious and the idea of being in a small, cramped sub makes her panic. However, she was able to view the attraction with my daughter in this room without having an anxiety attack.

Please remember this is a place for those less fortunate, who can't experience the actual submarine ride. It's NOT for able bodied people who don't want to wait in line and who are too out of shape to stand on their own.  You can always cool down somewhere else. Disney made this special place so everyone could enjoy the attraction, it's not a "cool zone" for those who can go elsewhere - tg4653  68.6 #4333 9:41PM
I agree that it's not a cool zone for everybody, but there are disabilities that are not always visible. Disney is great with accommodations, but unfortunately, there's always someone abusing the system. - MARVELus  695.6 #303 10:35PM
@MARVELus thank you for so kindly pointing out how many disabilities are not always visible to others, even the ones that could appear 'too out of shape to stand on their own' could very well have a valid reason for needing this area of the attraction. We never know what others are going through or battling. :) - LiveLaughLoveDisney  301.3 #0 11:00PM

My daughter was less than a year when I took her. We just had a stroller, she wasn't a huge fan of my carrier. We used the baby care centers often for changes as well as refilling water bottles. When I needed to breastfeed we chose shadier spots around the parks. I preferred to feed her while relaxing in the Grand lobby. My husband and I would also grab a drink while she napped in the stroller; at  More...

5 months! We had a baby carrier and used that way more than the stroller! It was a blast!  - boomom  620.3 #350 1:31PM
⬆️ same exact... I had a 2yo as well... found quiet spots to nurse discreetly.. used the baby center to change him as well as let my daughter use the toddler potties. I had a soft cooler in the stroller basket for bottles and snacks.  - HalfCaff  583.6 #371 1:45PM
Haha...same for my now 20 year old son. Born in May, visited in October. I remember worrying a little about the heat as it can be hot that time, but Mother Nature was very cooperative that year. - CVDisneyland  460.3 #503 3:04PM
I'm not sure if I count since I am an AP but my daughter's first trip was when she was a month old! I love all the pictures from the parks I have when she was little! I would always make use of the baby care center on Main Street. There were a few quiet places I would go and sit when she fell asleep in her stroller like the bottom level of hungry bear quick service (which kind of still exists) or even inside the grand hotel's lobby.  - DizneyDee  24.6 #6883 1:34PM
My youngest mini has spent more than a month in the parks and he just turned a year. His first visit was when he was cleared medically at 3 months (preemie) and we have been every 3 months for at least a week since.  - mommalostone  64.5 #4448 10:31PM
We took our son at 6 months old and had a wonderful time! He was either strapped to one of us in a forward carrier or in his stroller and he loved it. We never felt stressed or anything taking him that young, felt easy and fun.  - DisneyDreamer18  217.4 #1839 11:11PM

So sorry to hear about this. My mom has always been apprehensive about leaving things in my daughter's stroller while at the parks.  She and I keep our personal belongings: wallet, cards, phone, keys in a crossbody purse we wear on us at all times. Then we just keep jackets, water bottles, and my daughter's small backpack (filled with extra clothes and wipes) in the stroller basket.

We talked about this topic in the past five years s few times because it's happened before. That doesn't make it any better for you so I'm sorry for what they took. I was surrounded by two thieves a couple years ago but I saw them Watching me, I was taking some photos so I turned the camera and took their picture and they ran. But I'm not telling anyone to do that , what you want to just do is keep your things with you, if it's something you need but later, then you need to rent a locker. I use a  stroller and I take everything with me onto the attraction with me. And I've had my stroller gone through at least once now. It's just not the same world anymore and honestly if they're  a thief, it's just too easy of an open target. Because a lot of people think it's Disney we're safe. But thieves do have kids or not and  do go to Disneyland and they will take any advantage of any  opportunity. DL  can't even tell you they can protect all your things. Use an old stroller, but anything nice, put it in a locker.  - secretagentangel  7431.2 #13 9:48PM
Let me add for the ladies, always have your purse in sight while sitting/eating. Hanging on a chair back is not a good idea with so many people passing by - Quiweez  861.1 #229 9:02PM
Yep!! My niece, Kylee, just had hers stolen off the back of her chair at WDW, last week, while eating dinner with other new CMs @ Disney Springs (formerly DTD) 🙁 - misschurro  7630.8 #12 10:29PM

misschurro... Have you seen those little fancy purse hooks that you can place on most tables, so that your purse can be safely next to you and within eyesight, but not on the floor?  There's some really cute jeweled ones out there--might make a fun gift for her?   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  642.0 #335 8:27AM
Spoonful_O_Sugar yes!!! Excellent gifty idea! Thanks! Luckily, like 99.9% of teens, she eats with her cell phone right next to her, so it wasn't stolen!😂 - misschurro  7630.8 #12 11:22AM
Happens a lot... My friends entire stroller along with all their purchases, bags, purse etc was on it... People suck - DarthFairy  503.5 #453 10:29AM
So sorry that sucks. I try to take all the stuff on each ride. I carry a rather large petunia pickle bottom diaper bag, her Ariel doll, water bottle have hooks so they hang from the bag and it seems I'm carrying the kitchen sink, when you add the baby too. I have forgotten my phone & iPad before but since they were out of sight they were still there when we got off the ride. I was so relieved. It's so hard to make sure u have everything every single time when u have a baby or kids. So sorry this happened. Some people suck, even people who go to the parks can be bad that's why it's important to keep an eye on the littles too.  - grapesoda  619.3 #351 11:12AM

I have had passes off and on for the last several years. I bought two of them as gifts for myself, plus the so cal was less than $400. Then, my husband surprised me a couple times with passes. My mom loves going to the parks as well so she decided to gift my daughter and I with passes so we could all go. We live in So Cal, 1 hr to 2 hr drive depending on traffic.

Very sad to admit I have an annual pass for about 8 years nowAnd I live in Australia 😊 - Donald1967  155.8 #2703 8:47PM
Wow! How often do you get to the parks? - BriarRose406  179.6 #2323 10:35AM
twice a year, and if I come back in October I will use the pass 3 times so way worth it - Donald1967  155.8 #2703 1:07AM
We have APs and live in Hawaii and only visit once a year. AP is cheaper than buying 6-day Park Hoppers (as long as you go a week earlier than the previous year you get 2 visits out of 1 pass!) - msdizmaui  763.1 #268 3:52PM
No AP for me, and probably never will have one. That's ok though, as I totally enjoy and cherish the few days a year I get to visit. Plus, MW is here to help get us through any major Disney withdrawals. - DarthTinkerbell  948.4 #206 8:22PM

I live in Oregon as well. And I am a lucky  pass holder. I go 2 or 3 times a year, so really I'm breaking even on admission, but it's the discounts, pins and other special AP stuff that makes the pass worth while.  - crazyfriends  1.5 #63604 11:52PM

Can I ask a really kind of dumb or  embarrassing question? Do moms normally bring the child's portapotty with them? Reason I ask is I saw one this weekend hanging off the side of a double stroller.  - secretagentangel  7431.2 #13 2:39PM
That's not something I ever did or have I ever seen. It could've been circumstances where the child really likes their very own potty and feels most comfortable. - misschurro  7630.8 #12 3:04PM
secretagentangel I have seen this a few times at various places. I don't and wouldn't do that. However, once potty training starts it seems you don't want to mess with it too much so if that's what the kid needs, I can see some parents making sure those needs are met. - KelstersInc2319  61.2 #4550 11:11PM
Maybe hide it in a plastic bag? I get parenting is tough and maybe needed even for special reasons, but it looked a bit gross. And I was snacking as I walked so I just tried to not look. It was back by Goofy's Sky School--Mediterranean skewers with sauce, brown rice, veggies, and Naan, as well as some good salad options. Really tasty and very different from the regular theme park hamburger/hot dog/Mexican food fare.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  642.0 #335 6:35AM
Agreed, Spoonful_O_Sugar. Zomething different and it never felt heavy or like you were eating junky😂 - misschurro  7630.8 #12 8:18AM
Yes!  I shared this with my husband for lunch the day before we ran the half marathon a couple years ago and it was just right.  Protein and carbs, but not too heavy-feeling.    - Spoonful_O_Sugar  642.0 #335 8:24AM
Sounds like the perfect combo. ::lesigh:: - misschurro  7630.8 #12 8:29AM
I have never really explored back there much.  I usually end up at the beer stand, then I walk along the way towards the ice cream cart past the swings.  I'm pretty sad that I have missed it. - AngiMouse  129.7 #3131 4:47PM
Sadly, there was never a consistent line there for the Mediterranean food.   - BaseballMickey  8007.3 #11 12:40PM
And that's what matters unfortunately. 🙁 - secretagentangel  7431.2 #13 4:22PM
That's really to bad. We ate at Boardwalk a Pizza last Sunday and it was very good. Love their salads and pasta. - jacdanfan  12372.5 #6 4:39PM
Will it stay closed or is something in the pipeline? - misschurro  7630.8 #12 4:45PM
jacdanfan bit sure if the pizza place is included in this.  - secretagentangel  7431.2 #13 5:19PM

My parents, my husband, and I all enjoy the Red Lion. There is a 24 hr Ihop right next door and the rooms have coffee makers, microwaves, and mini fridges. Plus, there is an ART pick up/drop off right in front as well as the Toy Story Shuttle lot next door.

@CentralCoastAuntVon stays at the Tropicana. She says it's great for the money and literally right across the crosswalk on Harbor Blvd. - Quiweez  861.1 #229 8:48AM
We LOVE the Tropicana!! I live about four hours away and like to be right across the street from the park. The shuttles from hotels are nice, but when your exhausted after 12-15 hours in the park, it's nice to walk across the street and pass out!! Plus you are close in case you forget something... Also you are close to restaurants and convenience stores right outside the park.  Tropicana is clean, safe, great priced and the staff is awesome! I highly recommend it!  Enjoy your visit!! 😊 - CentralCoastAuntVon  114.9 #3415 8:41PM
I agree that a quick walk across the street sounds perfect after a long day at the parks! That pro might have just sold me! Thanks! 😊 - MaddForMansion  768.2 #263 8:57PM
We have stayed at the Anaheim Majestic Hotel on Ball Road. They have a free bus shuttle that runs from opening to closing every half hour. Their food restaurant is very reasonable and the food is very good. The rooms are huge but the bathrooms are small, hotel built in the 60s. We have stayed there for decades. Used to be the Sheraton. Hotel looks like a castle. They have AP rates and lots of specials. Good luck and have a great visit. - jacdanfan  12372.5 #6 9:03AM
Thanks for the recommendations! Will look into them! 😊 - MaddForMansion  768.2 #263 9:01PM
We just stayed there the  recently renovated rooms and we were very happy it's going to be our go to hotel if we can't stay on property or if we planning a quick fast trip down - disneychu  309.7 #912 12:04PM
That's good to know! Thanks! 😊 - MaddForMansion  768.2 #263 8:57PM
Park Vue, Best Western Park Place and Desert Inn and Suites are located very close to crosswalk right across from main gate! Clean and reasonably priced! I've stayed at all of the resort hotels and was surprised that the walk from these other hotels was actually shorter!  - jackattacksmom  19.2 #7853 4:30AM
Thanks for the recs! So funny that the walk to a few of the off property hotels is closer than the on property ones 😉 - MaddForMansion  768.2 #263 2:49PM
We love to stay at the HoJo! Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfy beds!!!! - Boundin  811.5 #242 9:47PM
I've cut it down to a few, and HoJo is one of them. Thanks! 😊 - MaddForMansion  768.2 #263 10:53AM
