Great that they are investigating, but it sounds like the phone call and wording were something read verbatim from a procedural document. Which, I understand is how they have to do it, but as someone who has been the "deliverer" of such script, I know how insincere and even condescending it can sound if not delivered just right. - kerbear

I read about your awful experience. I'm glad you're reporting this. How scary for your family to have to witness that. It's hard to comprehend that racism is still so prevalent in a supposedly enlightened society. Vern and I have never experienced anything like that...Vern is black and I am Caucasian ...but it would absolutely horrify me if I had to witness him being treated that way. I would like to thank all my MW family members for support. The day after the racial profiling me and my fiancé have been in tears all day about how police treated me. I understand that she can't understand why they single out black males and I all we can do is comfort each other today it's bad enough her family disowned her cause she is marrying a black man now she has to go thru this. Good luck tomorrow! I truly hope you are able to find someone at the police station that will truly listen and get the information to that officer's boss. What they did was so wrong, and it completely shocks me that this kind of thing goes on - aren't we past all that?
