Our family tries to always head straight to Fantasyland. You can knock out all of those rides first thing. We go straight to the Peter Pan attraction. We try to have one adult head straight to star tours to get fast passes while the rest of us are doing Fantasyland. Have fun!
Hi, if you stay at a hotel that qualifies for magic morning hours you really want to take advantage of those times. The morning are less busy. Try and ride some of the bigger rides then. You for sure want to get as many fast passes as possible. You can use the past past after the allotted time on the ticket, but not before. Keep if for a busy time during the day. Crowds will die down after the nighttime shows are over. It'll be hot in the middle of the day, that's a good time for inside attractions like Mr. Lincoln in DL and the Animation building, or Playhouse Disney in DCA. You'll want to measure your child to determin how tall they are know which attractions you can ride and which you'll need a rider swap. You can ask the CM for one. Check MW often for wait times.
For food, there's a lot of really yummy options. Check out the food section.

We went in July a couple of years ago from Australia. Expect big crowds but the parks are open longer hours often till 1 in the morning so if with kids can have a rest in hotel room if close by in the afternoon then come back. Park hopper ticket well worth it too as easy to go between parks even get fastpast for ride in DL then go to DCA. Definatly will need to use the fast pass system to be able to get to all the big rides since the parks will be busy. We're heading back this year for Halloween .... Can't wait! - anniemc

For a 5 yr old bring a stroller. All the walking is tough on even an adult. Even if the stroller mostly gets used for u're bags n your child just sits in it while u're waiting in line u'll b happy u have it. Also go back to the hotel for a swim n nap in early afternoon n then go back to the park for the evening. And important, bring snacks n drinks to have in line. - ready4vacation

Fastpass is a better option IMHO.. the line for FPs arent long as they used to be and the food is "less than spectacular".. WoC is amazing though!! - DonaldMissingPants

I've never had to wait a long time to get fast passes for WOC. In fact, I think we waited longer to get our meals and drinks at the picnic meal counter! We did the picnics once and they were pretty good but there is amazing food in the parks that beat the picnics hands down. We also had to get there just as early as everyone who had a FP to get a good spot. If you can splurge, I hear good things about the Ariel's Grotto WOC dinner. If not, go with a normal fast pass and grab some grub you really will enjoy! - cynDOLEwhip

My hubby and I sat by the water at the Blue Bayou. At night we rode Pirates and Splash and they let us have our own boats/log when we told them it was our anniversary. :)

We got to meet Wendy once and go on a ride with her. We were at DW though. She was part of the Discover the Magic tour. Basically Capt. Hook was going to take over the MK unless we gave his hook back. We followed a map all around MK and finally found it stuck on the back of Wendy's dress. We got to hang out with her and then we got to go on a ride with her. It was pretty cool. :)

I love that ride, the animatronics are incredible to me, the way Ariel's hair moves really looks underwater, and the bubbles on the back of the shells when you go underwater, and Ursula is incredible!!! Idk, I think all the little details make it amazing - TinkerBrat

It's one of our favorite rides now! They did such an amazing job with everything and very creative with how all the characters come to life. It's about 5 minutes long but I didn't expect it to be any longer. They put all of the main parts of the movie in with what they could. Too bad you didn't enjoy but, to each their own opinion. We go on it every time we go to the park! - no1goof
