I'm hoping the blackouts on 6/23 may thin the crowds ever so slightly, but I fear the worst.

I just have to say....if you are going anywhere near DL and DCA for the next several months expect huge crowds and long waits for everything. There won't be any light days, it's summer and Carsland. I find it silly that anyone who has been to the parks or on MW for more than 5 mins would ask such a silly question. Just my opinion. Going to be a long summer. - Jimineycricket 197.1 #1665 1:54PM

I look at it in the sense of being in school...the teacher takes roll call. He/she is in the school. They can't take roll call if they are not there...something like that. So in that sense, the MWer that starts roll call is the teacher and all those that reply are the students. So in effect, the MW who starts roll call gets to tell the MWers who responded to roll call what to do...no? 😜 - SergZak 3125.8 #13 12:39PM

Personally I don't see a problem with anyone creating it. Whether they are there or not. It's fun and friendly and gives people a great way to participate and interact with other MW's. I see people getting scolded for it and they shy away from MW. Someone posted one at 6am who was clearly excited to be heading to DL today but got jumped on because he wasn't in the park yet so he deleted it. Serg is right. DMW and Tone Loc started the roll call and you should be present in the park to post it and shouldn't post in It Coming at 5! Just post when you get there. It's not in the FAQ but it was started this way from the beginning and should stay that way. - Mrsblue 692.4 #145 1:37PM

I would be like me 5hrs away starting the roll call, it doesn't make sense. Roll Call has traditionally been started by the first MWr to post in the parks. I will say the "undocumented" rules are the ones that make me so nervous to post on here. Especially being a newbie. I've noticed that there are a lot of unspoken rules and it makes me second guess any time I want to say something. Don't feel that way. There aren't a ton of undocumented rules here. You can learn so much by watching how the lounge operates. I am also newer to MW but I find when I come into an established community, it's best to sit back and observe. I've picked up on these traditions simply by reading others' posts and staying open minded to those who are veterans. I am not saying that newer MWers opinions don't matter.
