Yeah, Disney always safety first!! One time I was in line for Space Mountain & an alarm went off. We had to evacuate the premises. Someone had pulled the fire alarm!! - Superspacemountainfan  73.9 #3748 11:57PM
I feel jolts on Star Tours all the time ๐Ÿ˜‚ We were there at that time, sat at the tables at Tomorrowland Terrace and tried to figure out what was going on. We never figured it out and eventually left. But, while we were sitting there watching, they first didn't let people from tomorrow land walk past to Nemo...then the storm troopers came out and one if the CMs in a suit that was helping with traffic as well told the storm troopers to come with him and they walked up the exit of Autotipia and went into the ride. Then the cast members switched and didn't let people coming from Nemo go into Tomorrowland. But you could then go down by Nemo. Seemed like they might have been filming something with the Storm troopers? That's when we moved on... - Sweet_Irish_Cream  3782.9 #25 12:35AM

I'm reading through CMBaloo's old posts. You're an amazing sentimentalist! Just a true to heart gem! I am so very sorry your attempt to give to the MWers didn't work out with the C33 invite. By the time I read your comment, the thing had already gotten out of hand. I apologize for stepping on your toes on that one. I very much need to make it up to you somehow. You are the source of so much inspiration, imagination, and Disney Magic that I'd be honored to meet you some time! Oops. Off topic. Squirrel! I was going to say that the $10K was more like $160,000 today. It's not chump change, but it came straight from the amazing success of Snow White, and what a beginning! - FairyGodfather  58.5 #4087 6:37PM

We are planning to go to dapper day but I have nothing to wear. Does anyone know of any good thrift stores with cute stuff? I've never been thrifting before so I have no clue where to start. I'm in Orange County :).

The original Disneyland designers frequently populated their renderings with guests who appeared dressed for a day of sophisticated entertainment โ€“ because this was Disneyland after all! A new, highly developed, exhaustively detailed entertainment experience. No flip-flops or cargo shorts here! These were men in sharp suits, toddlers working two-pieces, and ladies looking like pages from Diorโ€™s sketchbook โ€“ all as if a visit to Disneyland were on par with a night at the opera. And why shouldnโ€™t it be? Thatโ€™s what this day is about, realizing those designerโ€™s dreams that Disneyland be seen as the upscale escape that it is, filled with guests dressed appropriately for it.

Interpret this however you like. A period โ€œMad Menโ€ look is as correct as the latest haute couture, be creative, go Gaga, anything that would make the legendary and stylish Disney designers Mary Blair, John Hench, Herbie Ryman, Dorthea Redmond, Harriet Burns and the rest of the stylish WED lot look proud โ€“ or blush!

- splashphotoCM  885.6 #166 1:54PM

No, not at all :). You gave great information! - kss4tink  217.7 #1629 9:49AM
Really, all eras are encouraged and represented. It's really just what "dapper" means to you. I've seen everything from barber shop to Roaring '20s to zoot suits to '60s style. It's just a chance to get all fancy-schmantzy. ๐ŸŽฉ - PrinceCorey  4320.4 #20 3:03PM
