I've had a very bad few weeks emotionally, gained 3.5 pounds last week, and have had a hard time getting things together. I didn't weigh in yet, but I did measure myself. Since I started riding my bike I lost 3 inches off my hips and 2 inches off my waist. I'm going to weigh in to weigh in tomorrow. I've had a good week staying on plan with my diet. I'm not riding my bike. I can't do it ye  More...

You're in my thoughts every day!  I'm so sad for you, but I know you'll make it through this.  Your puppy will help a lot.  BTW - that's awesome about the inches lost! - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 7:53PM
That is sooooo awesome that you've lost inches--you are very strong to be able to continue eating well and measure at a time like this!  Good job!  I have had four dogs pass away over the course of my life, and three of those four were unexpected, sudden losses--although I don't know exactly how you feel, I know how hard it is to have to experience that kind of a loss.  It's devastating, a part of the family is gone--but life keeps moving forward and people can choose to move with it.  Your new family member will bring you such joy--it will not replace Oscar, but it will fill a different kind of space in your hearts--one that you didn't even realize you had 😊 I'm so excited for your new adventure!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 9:48PM

I'm not doing very well. I'm so sad and very unmotivated. I'm having a hard time with everything. I'm losing desire. I don't know how to pull myself out of this. I don't know if I can.
Just think, soon you'll have a new little puppy to chase around. And of course he'll never replace the one you've lost but now you get to creat new memories with the new little guy.  - MXPrincess399  630.8 #252 9:26PM
Life is a series of ups and downs.  You suffered a huge blow, but you'll get through it!  You have to be strong for your girls too!  If they're like most kids, I'm sure it hurts them to see you sad.  You can do this!   - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 7:55PM

Friends, it's been an awful week. On Friday my dog died. He was killed in a dog attack. My heart is broken into a million pieces. I loved him so much. I'm so sad. I haven't been on a ride since he died. He always went with me.
Oh my goodness, my heart is breaking for you and your family, Mrs. Mouse. I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear this.  May God comfort you through this tragedy and give you the strength to help your family.  Many prayers and positive thoughts for you 💖✨ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 10:34AM
Mrs. mouse, I've been thinking of you all day.  When we lost our first dog, a friend gave us a copy of this poem, Rainbow Bridge.  It comforted us.  I hope you find comfort, as well 🐶✨❤️💛💚💙💜🐶http://www.legendofrainbowbridge.com/poem.html - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 7:55PM

I put a deposit on a puppy today. He won't be ready to come home for a few weeks. Nighttime is hard, we use to cuddle a lot. I lay in bed and cry. I'm not sleeping much. Then I get up and eat. I'm still riding my trike around. I haven't lost any weight or inches yet. It's very frustrating.
Keep riding!! Even if you don't lose anything, it's good to be out and getting exercise! - LuvsTigger  632.5 #251 6:23PM
I'm sorry, mrs.mouse.  Keep riding!  Remember that regular exercise has so many benefits: just getting your heart rate up and working your lungs helps decrease your chance for lots of diseases and cancers in the future.  Each rotation of your pedal moves you forward, health wise, even if you don't see it reflected on the scale.  Plus, it's keeping you from gaining :)  We are so proud of you and happy that you found an exercise that brings you happiness!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 6:34PM
Very good advice for all of us! - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 12:58AM
I'm not someone who loses weight easily, so I kinda had to come to terms with it (some people just have to cut out soda and start walking a mile a day and can lose 10 pounds like *that*--I am not one of those people!).  I really think that as a society, we should try to relax and actually enjoy exercise and focus on well being, rather than weight loss, because weight loss just doesn't happen sometimes.  However, it's been proven time and again that long term exercise is crucial for overall health now and in one's future.  Society kind of teaches us that exercise equals weight loss, but it's not necessarily true (female Olympic athletes are rarely skinny, and often their BMI falls in the "overweight" category--but they exercise more than most people work at a full time job each week, lol).   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 7:55PM

Sparkle Skirt question! I know a lot of you have Sparkle Skirts. I want one, but I'm not sure about the sizing. Do they run true to size? Are there styles or designs you like better? Thanks!
Thanks ladies. I'm looking forward to getting a pair to use when I go on my bike rides. I saw MXprincess399's photo wearing one and I loved it.   - Mrs.mouse  515.0 #333 8:53AM

I love my Sparkle Skirts!  I wear them to run and for everyday wear. Since September I've bought 9!  I feel like their size chart is accurate. I wear a medium. Check out the SparkleSkirt Princesses group in Facebook. People are always selling slightly used skirts for less than a new one.  - MXPrincess399  630.8 #252 11:20AM

I just looked at the website.  I LOVE the built in zipper pocket.  Only trouble is that I'm very self conscious about my upper legs (how do you tighten up the top of your legs above your knees!).  I'd need one that came down to my knees and then it would look weird.  God love you all that can wear them, but I have to stick to capris! (unless someone has an exercise to help...how did I ever end up with fat knees!?!) - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 1:29PM

I'm trying not to be frustrated, but I am. I rode my trike 4 times this week and my body responded by gaining a pound. Grr.
Welcome to my world!  Want me to share that story about turning fat to muscle?  Nothing worse than exercising and staying on plan and feeling all proud and then gaining!  Hang in there!  This too shall pass......body just going through changes. - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 3:16PM
I hear you.  I know it's frustrating, but that's exactly what is supposed to happen at the beginning--totally normal :)  We used to tell the ladies at the gym not to weigh for the first month or so after they began exercising because it gets discouraging.  Remember that the scale is just a number, and it's not really the best way to measure fitness or progress.  Try measuring inches, too, and I bet you'll see yourself getting smaller :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 6:59AM

I messaged you on FB...I'm stuck in diet "plateau hell"!  I've been here enough times to know that it won't last forever, but it's still just as frustrating! More exercise...less cheating! - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 5:55PM
Think of it as " yea you aren't gaining". You'll get past it.  - Mrs.mouse  515.0 #333 6:26PM
Do you use sweeteners like Splenda or Aspartame or drink diet sodas?  I was just reading those can actually hinder weight loss.  Sorry, don't know the source, but maybe it's worth looking into to break the plateau?   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.3 #343 11:03PM
I need to remember stuff like that.  I'm down to one diet soda a day (love Sprite Zero), but I do have the s/f jello and fudge pops, all of which have Aspartame.  I don't know if I can give those up.  But good reminder.  Thanks SoS! - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 12:51AM

Stand up...you'll look way skinnier! It's all perspective...you'll never catch me kneeling down in jeans for a picture!  And remember...you ARE skinnier now than you were at the first of the year, and you'll be skinnier next month and the month after that!  We're going to do this!  Enjoy your mini vacation!  The diet will be there next week!  BTW - what were you tailgating at? - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 12:27AM

Less than 1/2 a pound (but I'd be mad at myself too).  The JC consultant gave me the lecture of how you first lose weight, then inches, then weight again, and so on and so on.  You mentioned that you've lost inches (I was a dummy and forgot to measure when I began), so the itsy bitsy gain is nothing!  I weigh tomorrow...I'll let you know! - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 5:50PM

I only lost 1 lb this week.  I finally hit my magic 20 lbs total (actually 20.2 hahaha), but this 1 lb a week is killing me!!!  What can we do?!?  (and yes...I'm thrilled to have lost the 20 lbs, but that's only 1/2 way for me!). - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 1:47PM
