Last February when I stayed at the Grand I had every intention to get up in the morning and do this walk. Unfortunately early entry and closing out the parts each night got in the way. But one day for sure I want to do this.  - MXPrincess399  631.0 #256 7:30AM

That's awesome!  What a great loss.  I love to eat in disneyland as much as anything else. My favorite meal is fried chicken. I only get to the park a few times a year. I also love the bake potato soup. Yummy. Enjoy.
Congratulations!  I would probably have a pear martini or tequila Daisy at Carthay Circle and dinner at either Bordwalk Pizza and Pasta (The food isn't super-duper fabulous, but it's good--I mainly just adore sitting outside in the evening there), Cafe Orleans (we love to split house salad and Monte Cristo), or Bengal Barbeque with a Dole Whip for dessert!  Now I'm hungry, lol 😂 - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 9:37PM
Thank you! I think I am going to treat myself to my first ever Dole Whip!! - LuvsTigger  645.5 #247 2:49PM
You will love it!  And I've googled the nutritional info in the past--it's actually not that bad.  I think 1/2 cup has something like 90-100 calories and it's fairly low fat.  Problem is that my guess is that the servings are more than 1/2 cup, lol 😂 - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 9:51PM

First of all CONGRATS on the 39lb loss!  That's awesome!  I LOVE the pic in the lower left hand corner ("that's the same as a Wheaten Terrier"). Is that an app?  I have many favorite places...MUST do Hungry Bear and Bengal BBQ (Fried Green Tomato sandwich and chicken & veggie kabobs).  My favorite "bad" things are white chocolate covered pretzels, popcorn, toffee and giant cookies! - msdizmaui  581.6 #286 7:51PM

I've done both. Now I weigh in 2 or 3 times a week.  When I did weigh in daily the small ups and downs messed with my head too much. I'm too impatient to wait a full week.
When I was in my early 20s, I used to weigh every day, but as I got older, I realized I was too preoccupied with the numbers.  Currently, I haven't weighed in months--I threw our scale out when I moved, lol.  I have a range I know I'm in (based on the fact that my clothes fit better than they did last winter and I'm running regularly).  It's probably better to weigh regularly, but I gotta say, it's pretty liberating not feeling like I need to know the exact number and just concentrating on eating well and exercising.  If anyone finds a nice balance, I'd love to hear more!  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 10:13AM

That's better than me.  I TOTALLY fell off the wagon last week and gained a bunch back (too ashamed to say how much).  I know that a lot of it is water weight and should come back off, but I'm still mad at myself!  Why can't we all have been blessed with those "I can eat anything and never gain weight" metabolisms!!! - msdizmaui  581.6 #286 3:02PM

I actually do better if I have a higher calorie day or two once in awhile.  Allowing yourself a few treats every so often (kinda like a stress release) helps prevent binging and can "trick" your body so you don't plateau. The trick is that you have to allow yourself the treat, not feel guilty, and return to healthy eating right away, otherwise it won't work at all. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 11:39AM

You have done great this year! Can you mix up your meals at all?  Sometimes, I feel like trying different foods, veggies, fruits, seasonings, and spices helps me stay on track.  I get really bored otherwise.  Can you sub a big salad or something that's equivalent in calories and fat with real yummy ingredients for one of the Jenny meals?   If all else fails, keep in mind that you'll be at the Grand at the end of summer, and Joey Lawrence might be there again, so you'll want to look your best, lol!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 12:16PM
here is goes, every day is another chance to get it right, start over, or begin again. Start again. Tell yourself to eat clean because unless you make it, it will be impossible to find over the counter unless you have a special place to get healthy foods. I am on the eve of a probable cancer diagnosis and I put myself cold turkey on a diet and I already mentally feel better. Damn I am hungry but I want the best health around what I am going to be facing. So try again and be happy.  - Plumiegirl  7675.1 #3 8:50PM

I just looked at the website.  I LOVE the built in zipper pocket.  Only trouble is that I'm very self conscious about my upper legs (how do you tighten up the top of your legs above your knees!).  I'd need one that came down to my knees and then it would look weird.  God love you all that can wear them, but I have to stick to capris! I've taken charge. I started exercising and am loving it. I could never understand people saying that they love to exercise. I guess I hadn't found the right exercise. My diet has good days and bad day, but I'm moving forward.
I've lost about 28 of the 40 lbs that I want to lose this year.  Like I've posted, these last 15 are a bitch!  But I will stay with it!!! I also had a plan to start "running" (if you could call it that) in the morning with the goal of being able to run/jog a mile (we have a path in my park that's exactly a mile) without having to stop to walk.  That hasn't happened yet.... Did I tell you that I'm out of work AGAIN!!!!  Oh...last week I booked our annual DL trip.  6 nights at the Grand the 3rd week in August.  Can't wait (but want to lose the 15 lbs by then!). - msdizmaui  581.6 #286 12:57AM
Wow, that's great!  So much to look forward too!  I just love the Grand...wish I could live there, haha!  So sorry to hear you're out of work--did all that drama ever calm down, or was it chaotic until the end?   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 6:44AM
Chaotic until the end SoS, which is why I'm happy to be gone.  An employee who was fired for attendance issues (drama queen who called in sick and/or was late more than any human on earth) filed a complaint against me.  One of her issues...I hosted a baby shower for another employee but wasn't "helping" with the one she was planning for herself!  Unbelievable.  No wonder I gained 40 lbs!!! - msdizmaui  581.6 #286 3:15PM
Whaaat??  That's nuts.  Why do some people go to such lengths to try to make other people miserable?  So sorry you had to deal with all that, and I'm glad you were able to be free of the situation! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 2:20PM

I  not very educated on that stuff because I prefer a little honey or sugar to the artificial stuff, but yeah, I think Stevia is the preferred choice--my husband did a bunch of research when we first started drinking green smoothies, and he decided that was best, anyway, lol.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 4:48PM

Question for you Do you eat or drink anything special when you run a half marathon? - disneyland4me  239.4 #1334 1:23PM
I had a really hard time getting my fuel right for long distance runs, and I did a lot of research and trial/error to see what could make things easier for me.  I found that a half bagel with peanut butter and half of a banana works really well for me prior to my run (about 1/2 hour before). I always drink a lot of water, but I found that electrolytes really important.  I occasionally use gels or blocks (don't take those with a sports drink--use water)--But I've made it through long runs without them just fine.  Everyone has slightly different needs based on their body chemistry, and you also need to be careful not to overhydrate, too, because that can be really dangerous.  Some people don't have much of a problem, but last year, I really struggled to find the right balance for my runs that were over 7 or 8 miles.  I use Accelerade, Gatorade or Powerade (I'm not picky) during runs, but I also found that a big glass of coconut water, a banana, and a little salty snack, like pretzels and string cheese, afterward really helps me recover.  You'll probably need to try different things to find the right balance.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 2:19PM

Thanks!  I go through years like this every so often.  I think the first chest cold really weakened me (I've had asthma since childhood, and chest colds are particularly aggravating and hard to recover from)-- it was a doozy.  Just a bad year for colds/flus!  Hopefully now I've had everything and will stay healthy next year, haha!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.9 #343 6:46AM
