One of my fondest memories is of a trip to DL where I purchased a Davy Crockett coon-skin cap for my Papa...I made it an extra permanent memory today :)

Meh.. Just saw Ashley Tisdale is on the cover of Maxim. I understand everybody grows up..but it has to be a little awkward for her younger fans to see her more than half naked by the checkout stand. I'm going to assume that's the nail in the coffin for her Disney career.

Question for the folks who have purchased a Disney vacation package in the past---Normally my family and I pay for our tickets to the park and our hotel separately, we usually stay 2-3 days. But our next visit will be a 4 night, 5 day trip. In your opinion, is it more economical to purchase a package..or piece it together yourself? (We typically stay across the street at the Carousel..Del Sol..Des  More...
Costco usually has good deals if you're looking for tickets and hotel. We've had really good luck with them. - minigirl1156  449.4 #278 7:11PM
If you have AAA they have the best deals! I always have them book my vacations! - drmwshhrt  13.5 #6035 7:20PM
I got a great deal at Costco with a meal package too. My girls and I stayed five days plus Costco gives a bonus premium dining experience and other things. - BelleLuvr  241.2 #1121 7:23PM

**Attention cool cats!!** March 16th at the House of Blues in DTD, those amazing (and gorgeous..!) Danish rockabillies known as VOLBEAT will be bringing down the House!! I'll be making a special trip down from Fresno to see the show (averting my eyes from the parks as I will not be able to step inside..sniff) Anybody else going to be rocking out with me??!!

Good evening everyone! Found this really cool picture and thought I'd share with my fellow HM enthusiasts. For those who can't read the small print it says: To create the immortal character of Madame Leota, imagineers combined the face of fellow employee Leota Toombs (above) seen here working on a model for Country Bear Jamboree, with the distinctive voice of Eleanor Audley (left)

How is the crowd index actually determined? Is it more of a guess-timation by a present MWer...or a real percentage?
Also, if you go into "Disneyland Secrets" page, there is a whole article on it. You have to scroll down a bit because it is a little bit older, but there is a whole page on info about it. - Belleslibrary  270.8 #835 9:48AM
Mousewait uses a special barometer that was created by a mad scientist in Chino. The actual number is combination of the barometer reading and the amount of guests that were in the parks on the same day in 1963. Either that or it's calculated by the wait times. - ScooterMike  1959.8 #37 9:27AM

Hey SantaMike!!!! I am so offended!! Are you saying only mad scientists live in Chino because I live there half the week!! Its not mad but we did have two horses try to sit on each other and our fence saturday and now we have a smashed fence but no mad scientists!!! would have used reply to your post but I cannot get it to work! - secretagentangel  710.7 #143 6:01PM
My mad scientist friends in Chino live in underground caves that reach out for miles. It's all top secret hush hush stuff. The CIA could kill me for this post. My point is that these mad scientists would have laughed their tails off at this joke. Not officially of course. - ScooterMike  1959.8 #37 6:07PM

Is anyone else really not impressed by Once Upon A Time? I started watching it out of curiosity, seeing how excited everyone was in the Lounge about it.. I now watch it out of pure stubbornness..I have to know what happens now! But every time during & after watching it, I can't help but focus on the terrible acting..lackluster effects and ridiculous storyline.. 😔 Please tell me I'm not the only  More...
I absolutely love the show. This season is off to a slow start but it is starting to pick up momentum. I for one think the costumes, scenery, acting, and stories are all terrific. It is almost as engaging for me as Lost was. As for ridiculous story lines? These are fairy tale characters. The show is not going to be reflective of what is possible in real life. - aidensmama  339.4 #446 10:38PM
By ridiculous, I mean the always convenient loop holes (there's no more magic here..yes there is..now there isn't..then there is again!) - London-In-Wonderland  395.3 #344 10:53PM
All tv shows have an element of this type of formulaic scripting. OUAT is somewhat of a prime time soap opera. That's what happens on these types of shows. - aidensmama  339.4 #446 11:14PM
Well if you are unfamiliar with LOST, which have the same writers for Once Upon a Time, then you should know that they tend to leave a lot more questions than answering then. So I'm guessing the loopholes you are refering to are probably unanswered questions. And yes I'm probably biased but I love the show and love every single character and their actors and acting ability. As for the effects, yes they are cheesy at times, but remember its not a high budget film, so they do the best with what they got. - sleepyhead  371.1 #386 11:55PM
I didn't start watching until the middle of the first season, and I got hooked. I still haven't watched from the beginning, and this season has started out slow. But they did just get reintroduced to the whole magic element of the show, so it's understandable. So as of right now, Captain Hook/ Prince Philip is what's keeping me watching at the moment. As well as the loopholes, they leave you wanting more :] - MEHlanie_Mouse  750.3 #135 1:20AM
