I know i'm not very well known here in the lounge, and I don't post much, but I would like to take a moment and clear something up. This is of course all meant with good intentions. I did a search earlier today in the lounge for social clubs, and was saddened to read half, if not most MW'ers comments were negative. I felt there was some double standards being thrown around and thought I might tak More...
So incredibly excited!! The husband and I will be springing for our first annual passes in over 5 years when we visit next month! Doubly excited when I realized we will be there to finally participate in Dapper Day! AND it will be our first trip along with our Disneyland Social Group, The Train Hoppers! The excitement can hardly be contained :)
Birthday weekend was an absolute blast! I knew on my 16th birthday where i would be on my 30th, the only place where I will always feel like a little girl! Disneyland is definitely a whole knew experience with a little one in tow, but we still made the best of it, and quite a few new firsts thanks to MW. Checked out Princess Fantasy Faire and had a garlic and cheddar twist and a boysenberry apple More...
I wanted to share a touching story.. Earlier this year, a friend of my mothers tragically lost his daughter. Sadly, she was killed in a car accident on her way home after a day at the parks. Disneyland, like many of us here, was one of her favorite places to be. After many months of grieving, and trying to put the pieces back together..their family has something to smile about. The daughter's ashe More...
Question for the locals: I will be coming down to cheer my sister on for the marathon, but will not be able to enter the parks. Besides Downtown Disney, what are some fun things to do in the area?? I will have my 1 1/2yr old son with me, and we will be there from Saturday to Monday afternoon.
Thinking about treating myself to something special at the Grand's spa for my birthday trip coming up in December... Would anyone have a suggestion that has experienced their spa? Massage..? Pedicure..? Package..? Will be going to the parks for 5 days and thinking it may be a good idea to schedule something in the middle for a rejuvenation!
My tattoo artist likes to offer fun specials every now and then, already took him up on his pirate special on National Talk Like A Pirate Day. Now look what's up for grabs!! Thinking of a Mickey made of round garnets for my mother.. Any other fun ideas?? What would YOU get?!
Opinions please--I've been piecing together a trip for my husband, baby and I that we'll be taking in December, and would just like to be sure I'm getting a good deal. We'll be getting 5-day park hopper tickets through the military for $276 a piece (normally $300) and staying at the Best Western just across the street on Harbour. For the two tickets plus the 4 nights and the hotel will come to abo More...
Hhmm.. A little disappointed about a situation my sister experienced yesterday in DTD at the World of Disney.. My sis saw a shirt in DCA she wanted to purchase but decided to wait on buying it so she wouldn't have to carry it around, figured she could buy it in WOD along with some other souvenirs the next morning. Unfortunately the particular shirt she wanted wasn't there, she asked if there was a More...
A personal favorite is the beautifully hand crafted music box
A fun video from 2013, the story behind the music box with Clopin, Figaro and the even watch the Tangled Tower being put into the Fantasy Faire:
Of course, no trip to the Fantasy Faire would be complete without a visit to the Royal Hall. Loved this artist rendition, that's just how my girls are when they enter the Hall. ::sigh::
Took this next part directly from Disney Parks Blog:
“After walking into our main entrance, you will first go through a garden-like setting before entering the reception hall,” said Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director of Fantasy Faire for Walt Disney Imagineering. “Once inside the Royal Hall, guests will discover a beautiful gothic interior with nice wallpaper, wall cresting, wood finishes and chandeliers.”
Passing through a series of spaces, including the Grand Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to meet as many as three Disney princesses, from classic stories such as “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty.”
Dont forget to grab a sweet treat from Maurice's Treats! At the time, (isn't there more now?) the adorable cart featured 3 “Twists” and a new signature beverage: Boysen Apple Freeze.
In a tribute to the historic Carnation Plaza Gardens, a shield over the archway leading from Fantasy Faire to Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland displays the letters “CPG.”
