yep! I begged my mom to take me on my birthday when i was like 10. I remember that room where it would flash every so often and your silhouette would be painted on the wall and the jungle gym with the slide.

Awesome ! One of my favorite cities with my face character ! My favorite birthday memory is when all my friends and family planned a surprise party for me. My bday is in the summer and everyone acted like they were going to be away with family during my bday weekend . I was kinda bummed out so I went to my grandmas for dinner. Lo and behold , everyone was there waiting For me!

Yeah, I was mistaken. It has actually had one (1)scheduled closure, and three (3) unscheduled ones since 1955. The Scheduled closure was on May 4, 2005 in order to provide a media day for the start of the park's 50th anniversary celebration. And the three unscheduled closures were in 1963, after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, in 1994, after the Northridge Earthquake that also forced closures on other theme parks nearby like Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. These closures were only for inspections, no major damage occurred at these parks, and on September 11, 2001 due to the terrorist attacks that day. Unlike the parks at Walt Disney World, which had to close after they had begun operations for the day, Disneyland and then new Disney's California Adventure never opened that day due to the time difference.
