Here is an article from CNET regarding Att and the parks. Written in 2014. I have AT&T, will have them forever, and no real issues with it in the park. http://www.cnet.com/news/at-t-uses-small-cells-to-improve-service-in-disney-parks/

We use Verizon because its the only service that works where we live but have never had a problem with it at the parks or hotels. We visit about every 3 months. - varela2892  6.4 #14224 1:35PM
i have AT&T and my husband has his work phone through Verizon. I rarely have service and he always does haha - MellieKay  220.3 #1670 1:41PM
T-mobile works fine for me, except when the park is really crowded (crowd index over 85). - SorcererD91  2006.0 #71 2:27PM
I have AT&T, and it works. Unless the crowd index is high like SorcererD91 mentioned, then it is touch and go. - Lelundrial  582.9 #327 3:42PM

We have stayed at all 3 hotels at least once. When we have gone back to a DL hotel, we stay at PP.  the difference in price allows us to upgrade to the concierge level. It's been a while since we have stayed on property.  We stay at an offsite hotel since it is a huge price difference.

Since the boys are quite young I would stick with the ease of access to the Grand Californian so that you can quickly nip back to the hotel for a nap or lunch at the pool etc. - beentoall  198.6 #0 10:04AM
I have stayed at the Paradise Pier twice, and loved it both times. The rooftop pool is awesome, and the beachy themed rooms are very cute. It's also a very short trip to use the Grand's CA access, just across the street :) - punzshel  2.7 #56637 10:17AM
My family and I have stayed at PP and we have enjoyed it very much. I believe one time our room was looking out towards DCA and we were able to see WOC which was a plus for us. I think you can't go wrong with any hotel they all have that special Disney magic touch and each are special in their own way. Have fun. - TheZaragozaFam  13.4 #0 12:09AM

Hi - sounds like everybody's plans are nice and easy. I'm packing for our trip back east. Working our costumes for MHP with the family. Need a few things to finish them. Just spending time with the family.

Went to my doc for my post shingles appointment and she was so impressed with my healing.  She said she has never seen anybody heal so quick....yippppeeee!  I still have a bit of pain but that is going away too.  Normally I take forever to get better so I am thankful I am actually healing quickly, for a change.  - dianeburns1998  65.5 #4131 10:20PM

No stickers... but our grandson is doing great in his swim classes. He is able to float on his back, turn over and swim, jump in and swim, and started to learn how to dive for toys in the little end. Considering he is 4, it's only been 4 weeks of lessons, and this kid would scream blood curdling screams at baths☺️. A miracle. Other stuff going on, but it wouldn't create a vacation atmosphere.   More...

Here is an article about what is available. I didn't check the date or if the prices are current, but it might help in researching.   http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2414494,00.asp

I'm from the land downunder, Australia πŸ’šπŸ’›  Due to expensive international roaming charges I usually just get a prepaid sim with T Mobile or an alternative american provider. Will be far cheaper than $80 I assure you. Normally just catch a bus to Westfield Mainplace on the first or second day. Goodluck and have a great trip πŸ˜€ - RapunzelledColey  126.9 #3011 5:37PM
I never thought about that! I'm going to go check that right now. It doesn't affect your current plan with your provider? Thank you so much!! - ollie  11.4 #9443 6:50PM
This... That's what our kids do when they are deployed.  - Sugarbuzz  220.8 #1664 10:23PM
In Australia definitely does NOT impact your plan with current provider as it is the Sim Card that controls the plan not the phone. The prepaid sim plans offer far greater value and start working immediately ollie  πŸ‘ - RapunzelledColey  126.9 #3011 11:38PM
Makes much more sense now - also found a great plan that I can buy from an international carrier here before I leave that is less than half of my original quoted price! Thank you all so much for your help! This has been a great eye opener - I regret not getting these my past 3 trips (my wallet regrets it too lol!)(also I was pretty sure I had posted a "thank you" post on here already, I tried twice and nothing has shown up so if you have a bunch of messages...sorry!).<3 - ollie  11.4 #9443 11:39AM
Check to see what your service provider says when we were in Vancouver last year they told us we could add international for just a month and not have to deal with roaming but it was going to be about $60 a month extra so we decided not to do it - disneychu  48.8 #4621 6:52PM
Mine told me it would be an extra $80 πŸ˜– I'm really trying not to!  - ollie  11.4 #9443 6:59PM
T-Mobile was the only one I could find in my search that you could order just the sim card and that one was only 1 GB - and I think that was the only one where you could bring your own phone. I checked Verizon and it looked like you needed to get one of their pre-paid phones (if anyone knows please correct me if I got that wrong lol). and then go with a pre-paid/pay-as-you-go plan from there. I must say though, you guys have AWESOME deals on phone plans. Way cheaper than our basic plans here lol!! - ollie  11.4 #9443 11:27AM

We made or reservations as well. Same question and same answers. I'm so excited. Our SILwill be on leave for 2 weeks from Bahrain this is our treat to him and the family.

Show up a bit before your reservation time, you will have to wait longer more than likely.  - MellieKay  220.3 #1670 11:59AM
No extra charge, but you do need to place the request once you arrive in person at check-in time (no phone requests). If you arrive 10 mins or so earlier than your reservation time, it is helpful. You may have a short wait, but worth it.😊 - Alicewhoareyou  2070.9 #69 12:13PM
I requested over the phone when I made my reservation. Table by the water was nice and the food was even better! - metink  204.1 #1885 5:03PM
We showed up 20 minutes before our reservation time and asked for one. I was told it was going to be a thirty minute wait. We should have waited because our table was awful. Stuck near the bathrooms and these jerks that let their kids run around. - Lelundrial  582.9 #327 5:12PM

Never had to rent one, hubs has his own scooter. I thought they were made to go at least 9miles. Maybe you could call, and ask if there is safe place to plug in and charge while you are eating.

If you rent at the parks and the battery dies you can call and they will bring you a new one anywhere in the park. - toarrispirate  150.9 #2636 2:19PM
I have had pretty good luck with ECV rental from Apple scooter they drop off and pick up from your hotel fairly reasonably priced compared to Disney ECV's - disneybob49  297.2 #880 2:23PM
I walk with braces and crutches to be mobile, so when I know that I'm going to walk a lot I rent a scooter. I've rented from Apple, a Scooter 4 U and Deckert Surgical who will all deliver and pick up to your hotel Bell Services Desk; they are pretty comparable for rates, but Deckert was recommended by Disney Travel Co. and they had a crutch holder for each of my crutches and Scooter 4 U I had to stuff them in the same holder which was a super tight fit and not convenient when I wanted to get them out or put them away by myself. Still, all 3 companies are good and if you able to sit with in a scooter vs electric wheelchair (which gives more back support and helps if you have limited motion in using your hands to steer.) Hope this helps! 😁 - Catski23  9.3 #0 5:27PM

We learned to put any pins we really want to keep in a secure place (zipper pockets, backpack, etc). Locking backs are definitely the way to go if you want to show your pins from your lanyard.  - TiggersAndTinks  162.3 #2469 7:49PM

A very good reason to not renew. We were unable to afford college for our kids, so all three joined the Navy for the G.I. Bill.

Yep, yep, yep to college fees. I have two in college right now. One at a Cal State school, and one at a private college. Was blessed to be able to get my oldest through USC a few years ago with no debt, but not the next two in line. Worth every penny though.  - breathe_in_the_happiness  744.2 #240 12:09PM

We are getting to be pros with the heat, since hubs has no temperature regulators. Hat, one that will let the air go thru(venting). He has a polar seat for his scooter. Super nice, but not something I can use. I made us cool ties, and a cool under the hat gear. We bought Artic Cold misters. Add ice water (or just cold), and give it a pump or 2. Just mists, no batteries needed. I'm working on makin  More...

Hello! One tip I do tell my friends is that if the line for Grizzly River Run is too long, go stand in the splash zone next to the ride's last drop.  If you don't mind getting wet, this is a good way to cool off. - SorcererD91  2006.0 #71 10:15PM
Hi SorcererD91! Lovin the photos today! I like that you can put your things in the lockers by GRR for free, bring flip flops and just wait to dry after!  - secretagentangel  2197.0 #64 10:29PM
thanks! and those lockers are free?? - SorcererD91  2006.0 #71 10:32PM

If you go past the first two hours though you have to pay!  - secretagentangel  2197.0 #64 12:04AM
since not AC at home i tend to go out and cool off. Today I went to the museo and looked at the history of disneyland and archives there, nice chilly AC. Then there was the Anaheim history room. It has been awhile since reviewing my home town. If I decide to walk at disney it would be spent in the Tiki room AC with a dole whip. Any AC ride would work. GRR or Splash single rider for wet. A couch in the Grand lobby and the awesome Piano player and disney song requests. The lady piano player is also a cancer survivor most of the folks on the couches are too when its her shift.  - Plumiegirl  9393.9 #4 11:21PM

Lots of great ideas for staying cool. I like the idea of going early, taking a break and going swimming and then returning in the evening. - dsnylvr1975  13.7 #8461 12:36AM

Hello... My Monday's are always good - since I work Fri-Sun. My good thing is our grandson started swim lessons, and had his 6th lesson last Thursday. We took him to a KOA pool and he is swimming already. He's only 4, so very happy he's learning so fast. I love Baby Seals.

Kids swimming is very exciting to me. It's great exercise for their growing muscles. Not only are they fun to watch but they are pool safe too if no one happens to be watching. Congrats to grandson πŸ˜ƒ - Bassplayerswife  418.3 #497 10:39PM
The reason we got him into lessons because all the water activities. Daddy as a boat for salmon and crabbing. We go to pools, lakes, and rivers. His course is actually survival swim lessons. Swim float swim with the idea of getting to the edge or shore, or floating until somebody finds you. His "test" is swimming fully clothed at the end. I can't wait to show his mom and dad when we have to give him back.  - Sugarbuzz  220.8 #1664 10:53PM
Sugarbuzz That's awesome! - Bassplayerswife  418.3 #497 11:02PM
Can't tell you cool this post is. I was a professional lifeguard for 4 years and taught all ages how to swim. Whether for recreation or survival it's a great skill to have. - jacdanfan  9431.4 #3 12:04PM
jacdanfan - at his class today, we saw a @2-3 yr old on her last day. She was awesome. Jumped in like she had fallen in. Swim-float-swim over and over. Not a whine or cry out of her. She had to be helped out -she had this huge sweater on that was so waterlogged, she could barely walk. She was amazing! Living so close to the ocean, we are fortunate to have a lot of different programs for swimming.  - Sugarbuzz  220.8 #1664 9:11PM
Sugarbuzz That's terrific! The younger the better. I taught lots of little ones, no fear! - jacdanfan  9431.4 #3 9:24PM
