Hi everyone. Can anyone tell me how busy DL will be May 20-24? I wanted to take the kids during spring break in April, but the hubs can't take the time off work.
From past years, its a good time to go because some schools are starting to end that time of year and the weather is good. And you'll beat the Memorial Day crowds - BaseballMickey_CM  6086.1 #13 4:49PM
Usually pretty good time to go. - TheDisneylandman  264.3 #1090 4:50PM
Does DL stay open late with the fireworks still at this time? I'm hoping we can go in May, this way it'll be our 3rd year in a row that we've got to go to DL. I'm working my butt off to try to make this vacation happen. Thank you for your answers. :) - Minnieme79  8.0 #10709 5:03PM
And my husbands birthday is the 22nd so I think it would be pretty cool to celebrate his 33rd bday there. - Minnieme79  8.0 #10709 5:04PM

Only 11 more days and my kids, brother, his gf, and I will be in DL! It's going to be my brothers gf's first time. We haven't been there since last June. I can't wait to see my kids faces light up when they find out we're going to DL. :) Hope Everyone has a wonderful, magical day today!
I hope you all have a great time!! Don't forget to get your brother's gf a 1st visit button when you arrive! Let the countdown begin!! 😄 - Aurora_2020  260.1 #1128 10:03AM

Does anyone know if Disney has that place where you put quarters in and you can maneuver boats in the water? They bring back childhood memories and I'd love to take my kids. Do they still have that and if so, where?
I believe in downtown disney there is, near ESPN zone and Rainforrest Cafe
- Villescas8  601.0 #285 11:50AM
^^ You are correct :) - Dopey626  276.7 #962 1:01PM
I believe you are referring to the area at The Disneyland Hotel that was slightly NNW of the underwater arcade. - Butterlina  1468.3 #88 11:50AM

Does anyone know how crowded the third week of April will be and what the weather may be like, so I can pack accordingly?
Fairly crowded but not insane, spring breaks are winding down...weather will probably be nice but you will have to check when it's a little closer. - JenInWonderland  1025.8 #148 11:36AM
I believe if you go to Rules-Faqs there is a crowd index that you can see what the previous year was like. My crystal ball is not working as it is down for routine maintainence. - DznyFan4ever  371.8 #534 11:38AM

Good morning! I need help in figuring out where they have the best character breakfasts in DL. I was thinking Plaza Inn but I'd like your opinions. I'm surprising my kids and brother and his gf. Thank you in advance and have a magical day!
Plaza inn is the only one actually inside of Disneyland. I really enjoyed that one and highly recommend it!! I've also been to Storytellers and had great food but the characters were lacking (chip/dale, meeko, Brer fox). - JenInWonderland  1025.8 #148 10:06AM
I vote Plaza Inn. - splashphotoCM  885.6 #169 10:55AM
I've only done Plaza Inn and Goofy's Kitchen, loved them both! Sorry I'm not much help. lol - LBChica  2011.5 #59 10:07AM
I liked the LILO and stitch breakfast at paradise pier. Stich is very interactive and other characters stop by. They have games they do with the kids. This was a few year ago so I'm not sure if they still do everything. Plus they have a nice picture area you dont have to stay at your table. - Princesspunsalan  10.1 #9203 10:23AM
It's done! I made reservations for Plaza Inn. Thank you again for all your thoughts! I am very very very excited to surprise my kids with the DL trip. They don't have a clue! Lol :D - Minnieme79  8.0 #10709 10:37AM

Oh I was hoping to get ahold of one of those s'mores things at the Candy Palace. Any chance they'll be open April 16-20? I'm sad because I really wanted to get one of those. I don't know when it'll be before we go again. - Minnieme79  8.0 #10709 9:47PM

Anaheim, Orlando, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo.  They just need to work on the southern hemisphere a bit more. *LOL* - ThatDoleWhipKimberly  391.4 #498 10:34PM

I need help rectifying something and ideas would be wonderful. My mother in law today in front of me told our son that his dad and mom were taking him to DL this summer. It was supposed to be a SURPRISE! I quickly shouted no we're not. I told my husband not to tell his mother until it was closer to when we were leaving to tell her. So now how do we throw him off? Should we tell him we are going to  More...
The jig is up, I'd just tell him. You will still get to see him being surprised. - Ricko19  818.1 #189 9:50PM

Good evening, fellow mwer's . I am wondering how busy Disneyland will be April 15-20. My daughter has spring break that week. If it's going to be busy we are thinking of getting 4 day tickets. Also how hot is it around that time? We are from Seattle and are looking forward to going again. We went last June and it was so hot compared to home. :) Sorry I posted this under DL and not hub. :(
If she's on spring break that means others are too so it will be fairly crowded, weather is very unpredictable that time of year, could be hot or could be rainy.. - KelBelle  453.2 #410 8:41PM
Expect it to be warm and crowded. Not unbearably crowded, but do plan to wait in long lines. - CxD_CM  518.6 #343 8:42PM
We are surprising them this year. I didn't want to have them miss school but that may be the best option as far as crowds go. Last summer we didn't get to finish the parks. 3 days was not enough. :) - Minnieme79  8.0 #10709 5:20PM
Let them miss.. just this once! They will love you forever! I agree that normally 3 days is not quite enough for both DCA and DL, but it is plenty for just DL. 4 days is better for both parks. If you only have 3 days, consider only doing your fav attractions in DCA. DL is the better park. Just my opinion. - IMissDisney  1205.4 #113 5:27PM

hello! usually around this time in april it is pretty busy because a lot of people are on spring break and that's when people head to the parks. It's hard to say exactly how busy right now, but I would plan on lines. When I have been in April, it has been around the mid to high 60's to low 70's during the peak of the day. Hope this helps! :) - raebell  7.2 #11559 8:50PM

Hi MWer's. Can anyone tell me what kind of a drive it is from Seattle to DL during the week of Thanksgiving? My brother and I want to surprise our mom for her birthday by taking her to DL. Is there a lot snow? Will the roads be slippery? Thank you for helping me out on this. :)
You could hit some snow between OR and CA and the Shasta Pass area. The other spot would be over Grapevine in So. Calif. It's hard to say. Some years it's bone dry and some years you need chains. - lisacat  254.9 #1176 2:37PM
We've traveled from Portland Oregon to DL the week of Thanksgiving many times (9 years running). Usually we hit snow going over the Siskiyou summit but it has never closed the road nor required us to put chains on. The freeway is usually pretty clear of snow, the real issue occurs when you get off the freeway to stop for gas or food. Depending on the snow level and how large the town is the side streets may be difficult to drive on. Like lisacat stated the Shasta area is usually the worst so we plan not to stop in that area for gas or food. One thing I would recommend is try to avoid driving home on the Sunday following Thanksgiving as the freeways are packed. We usually start our drive home early Saturday and try to make it most of the way home to avoid the traffic on Sunday. - fletch  96.7 #3436 3:01PM

Does it cost extra to go to DL around Halloween? Is there a special ticket or something?
Yes & yes. You can check it out on Disneyland's website. - Storybrooke  681.4 #240 5:01PM
Not exactly. Disneyland is open to regular guests during the day. Some evenings are set aside for the Halloween parties, which are a separate paid event. All other evenings are as usual. - bluefairy  643.3 #259 5:03PM
