We do about 30 days a year - and we're 2600 miles away in Canada ;)

Two or three times a month, depending on what else is going on.  - redsoxcarlos  4503.4 #35 10:46AM
Ya us too. Try to go 2- 3 times a month during the school season but during the summer at Least 1-2 times a week depending what we are doing.  - DisneylandDisneyland  489.2 #479 11:21AM
Good follow on question - how do I keep it magical? I think it's the people there, both cast and guests, that do it. It's fun watching guests having special moments, and neat watching cast members help make that happen. - redsoxcarlos  4503.4 #35 12:13PM
5-6 days a week, sometimes 7. Not sure how many days a year that is.  - BaseballMickey  8415.9 #14 11:33AM

A little farther north...Canada...we usually do about 40 days a year in Disney so definitely worth it for us. Although I just renewed 5 deluxe APs today and that hurt lol!

We are in sacramento, just bought APs in december. We figure we will be down 3 to 4 trip, averaging 3 or more days each time. The drive is killer but IMO worth it. We bought 3 deluxe and 1 signature so we could get the free parking, larger discounts, and photo pass. Also, if you are not to sure you can buy regular tickets at first and apply the ticket price towards your AP. Just be sure to buy the AP before you use you use your last day of the regular park passes. The nice thing also about being a pass holder is that when you are in the parks you don't feel rushed to cram everything into the few days you have. You don't feel bad about taking breaks or coming at 11am instead of rope drop.  Totally worth it!!! - dsnylvr1975  744.1 #302 5:20PM
Good point! I hate having to cram everything into 1 trip. We are Foothills area 😊 - lcruz6  13.9 #9674 7:29PM
We go twice a year 5days each time. Yes its worth it. We save about $50.00each plus AP discount on food and merchandise. - toarrispirate  642.8 #356 4:39PM
We live in Napa and go about 3-4 times a year for 2 days each trip. It was totally worth it!  - citainwonderland  116.4 #0 9:35AM
I live in the Bay Area and get a lot of use of our APs. I'm usually down there at least every 6 weeks (sometimes a little longer, sometimes less).  I take my family, I go with my husband, and I go with friends that I've met here on MW.  The options are endless.  Enjoy!  - LaPearleNoir  2859.3 #55 9:51AM

Where does that leave me with my deluxe passes? We have 5 deluxe due for renewal on Jan 6th, 2016 and had planned on renewing...

As someone who doesn't live in SoCal and uses my AP only a couple or a few times a year, the increase really doesn't bother me at all. I have a Premium AP. The current cost of that pass was $779. New Signature Pass is $849 and it includes free PhotoPass access. This is actually a better deal than what I currently have for me. (I did just renew my Premium for $719, so I won't be getting the new pass, anyway.). Not everyone lives locally and can be at the parks 200 days each year. I have never gone during the Christmas break because, frankly, the crowds have scared me off. That is why we do thanksgiving when we want the holiday vibe. Don't the holidays begin around November 11th each year?  So that is about two months' worth of holidays for those who wish to enjoy that time.  If I were to renew my pass next year, I would simply get the Signature pass. I don't need the highest level just for two weeks at Christmas. I understand those who aren't happy. But, I do think it doesn't have to be as horrible as everyone is making it out to be. Disney is a business. They are in the business of making money, right along with letting you make memories. The new normal for some may have to be to see Disneyland as the treat that it is for much of the country or world who does not have it in their backyard. Hopefully, our lives are full of so many things. Disney is one part of it. It shouldn't be everything. Not trying to tick anyone off here. I do think their timing stinks with this. But, just wanted to show  that there is another perspective and way of looking at this. 😊 - MeridaFan  4244.2 #41 10:51AM
Yes this makes sense but for people who live in So Cal I fell the photo pass should be an option because I really never use it.  - DisneylandDisneyland  489.2 #479 10:54AM
AP prices have gone up every year. SoCal people have had the choice of two APs that no one in the rest of the world have been able to purchase. It is not a necessity for people to buy the most expensive pass for themselves.  So you do have other options that others do not. They also have given special discounted tickets to SoCal people throughout the year. I think those are great options for those who live down there and cannot afford the more expensive passes. Again? This is another viewpoint. And I realize there is only one SoCal pass available now. And I have no idea if they will continue with the other one indefinitely. Just trying to point out that there are actually some positives for some people here. Tourists bring in a lot of money to Disney. Lots of us enjoy using the Photo Pass system.  - MeridaFan  4244.2 #41 11:03AM
MeridaFan - pikarich  6958.3 #18 11:07AM
Correction I go 201 times - pikarich  6958.3 #18 11:09AM
I could not agree more, MeridaFan.  Also, it doesn't have to be all or nothing!  I understand the AP price is high, but that doesn't mean people have to swear off Disney forever.  Some people would kill to go just once a year. - Thumper13  541.9 #427 11:11AM
MeridaFan...I agree with you. We live in Oregon and, although we're not happy about the increase, we see why it was needed. I would have liked to know ahead of time, though. We still think you get your money's worth of quality, family entertainment. And if some of this increase goes to pay cast members and adds more jobs for new cast members and Star Wars Land for everyone I'm all for it. That said...we don't have young kids at home anymore and don't have to pay for them, along with all the extras while in the park. I can definitely see and agree with both sides. You have to make the best decision for your own family.  - GrandCircleTour  363.9 #690 11:26AM
We have 2 AP holders who renewed and upgraded to Deluxe in June, so they will probably need to rethink their budgets for the next time. We are having issues with budget and rooms right now... Does anyone know why there can't be a 6th person in a hotel room at the resort for a standard or premium room like Woods/Courtyard at the Grand Californian? We are wanting to be a group of 6 adults and a second room for just one additional person just seems excessive! (I think room occupancy max is 5 people?.) Mom has her heart set on the Grand, but we'd only be staying the one night with Disneyland potentially open until 12am, so only about 6-8 hours of sleep. We'll get a great AP discount, but trying to convince everyone to pay isn't easily justified for everyone! Any ideas would be appreciated. TIA! 😁😻 - Catski23  34.2 #5981 11:46AM

it has been nonstop peak crowds this year, no abating like in the past, no off season days. Anaheim is not passing anything on to sc residents. I vote and live in anaheim. The council took a loss with the gate tax. Disney is using some of the money to fund the new star wars, land purchases, new high rise parking structure, and since they can get the money, they are trying to reducee peak crowds. So do your homework and know the facts. I have lived in anaheim for 54 years in the shadow of the park. Its a private business and they are doing what they need to do. The β€œour park” mentality is changing. Our streets are so congested with cars it takes me 45 min to an hour to drive 6 miles to my job in santa ana. I have not used the gridlock freeways for the last 5 years, it seems that everyone that left CA has come back all at once. I hope price increases will slow down the crowds but I doubt that. Disney must have great actuaries. - Plumiegirl  10493.2 #9 11:30PM
I just genuinely wish they had a kids AP, it just doesn't seem right that my 3 yo will be paying the same ticket price and can't go on anything other than Fantasyland rides.  - bellapistola  158.4 #2712 1:30AM

if you leave and they hit capacity you might end up in a standby line to get back in. Get your hand stamped even as an AP to show you were in the park. Should give you priority. - DLKenCA  3184.6 #50 2:57PM

What is your postal code?

I would contact their support people.  I'm sure they will have a work-around solution or an over-ride.  I hope you get this resolved soon and can be focused on all the fun your about to have! - DreadPiratesRogers  852.9 #246 10:39AM
Thank you thank you thank you for your post.  I had NO idea about vons.com.  I will save a fortune on my next trip.  - PalousePrincess  26.3 #6802 11:35AM
Thanks! I tried calling but they are closed Sunday and we leave town Monday! And you're very welcome @PalousePrincess!! Hopefully it works out for us both!!! - TinkerBritt84  24.8 #7011 12:08PM
Sorry @abmickey... I don't feel comfortable posting my postal code online!!  - TinkerBritt84  24.8 #7011 7:07PM
Cause we could find you?  Postal codes are pretty non-person specific.  Mine is 91362 y'all! - DisneyDavidEMT  2826.1 #58 7:13PM
DisneyDavidEMT... Postal codes in Canada are different from zip codes. They actually pinpoint an exact neighborhood (down to your street)! So not very safe to post online for everyone to be able to view! Like posting my actual address. Not that we don't trust you all, just don't do it in general! - TinkerBritt84  24.8 #7011 7:17PM
Wait until you win a rak! Lol - BellesLibrary  423.9 #572 7:18PM
Well I will be eating a big plate of crow tonight.... Didn't realize they were quite that specific in Canada.  Our postal codes cover LARGE areas.  (But even to a specific street....we don't have your real name, so doubtful we'd find you.) πŸ˜‰ - DisneyDavidEMT  2826.1 #58 7:35PM
So it all worked out!!! We entered the numbers only from our postal code then added 2 0's at the end!  - TinkerBritt84  24.8 #7011 4:20PM
