Rumor has it Tony Baxter may be adding some new animatronic scenes to the Rivers of America during the refurb. Personally I hope they put the cabin on fire again!
Oh yeah, I totally remember when that cabin used to be on fire. I can't believe I didn't get a chance to see Fantasmic again b4 the refurb. Was the Summer Nightastic any different from regular Fantasmic? - MimiMouse  1022.3 #149 11:21PM
The big thing about Summer Nightastic was supposed to be the new dragon, but it didn't start working until the fall lol. If you've seen the new croc, floatsam and jetsam, and the new animatronic Dragon, you've seen the newest version of Fantasmic. - Marlon  0.0 #130560 11:43PM

I think I'm waiting in a longer line for KogiBBQ than ANY attraction at the park LOL!
Oh man I love that place. Drooling - TheShow  136.5 #2779 8:09PM
Where is that? - Admin 8:16PM
@Nate: Yeah, I know about the permanent one, but that's a drive lol. I think tonight I waited one hour to order, and one hour for my order to come up... SO WORTH IT. @Admin: you can follow them on Twitter @KogiBBQ. Sometimes they're close to DL. - Marlon  0.0 #130560 9:58PM
Oh man kogi gets crazy lines! We had it for dinner on New Years Eve, and the line wasn't bad! I told my husband it was because everyone was at parties or Disneyland! Yum yum kogi! - MommyElephant  0.3 #80774 12:33AM

Admin, since most of the questions in the lounge revolve around whether or not the parks will be crowded on whatever day, maybe a calendar with forecasted busy days could be posted on the Homepage? I'll help with the date if you need it.

Don't be too sure. The project is hitting a lot of problems lately. Slashfilm is a great place for a lot of news on it. - IndyandMarion  1239.2 #1 4:45AM

Anyone have some little known facts about Disneyland? Here's one: The front of Sleeping Beauty Castle is actually the back. One day Disney Artist Herb Ryman (his concept art convinced the bank to give Walt Disney the loan money for Disneyland) was looking at the model for the castle (done by Fred Joerger). Herb said he didn't like it, picked up the castle and turned it backward. Fred freaked out a  More...
cool! Didn't know that! - Admin 11:50PM
Here's another one. One opening day, there was a land called "Holidayland". It was meant to be an Uber-version of a picnic holiday. Guests could participate in pie eating contests, potato derbies, etc. It was a failure and it closed after 1955 =P - Marlon  0.0 #130560 11:57PM
Main Street USA is based largely on Walt's boyhood hometown of Marceline, Missouri. It is also the place in the country, outside of Disneyland, authorized to fly the official Disneyland flag. You'll see the Hotel Marceline on one of the side streets off of Main Street, and there is a Marceline Candy Palace in Downtown Disney. - Ihacklopez  -0.2 #161876 6:00PM
In the original snow white attraction, you rode through experiencing everything AS Snow White, but guess keep complaining that they never saw Snow White. She made her first appearance in the attraction in 1983. - Marlon  0.0 #130560 8:47AM

Miceage.com is reporting that the new World of Color show in DCA will use a "showpass" system of allowing people to reserve space in the amphitheater. That's a great idea IMO. Not having to camp out means more attractions, and it looks better aesthetically.
So you just have to camp out to get your showpass instead? - DisneylandChick11  33.5 #5040 9:49AM
Lol, nobody camps out for fastpasses do they? Of course, most AP's only come to the parks in the evening, so the showpasses might be gone! Haha - Marlon  0.0 #130560 10:06AM

I don't think strollers themselves are the problem so much as the SIZE of them. I have video of Disneyland when I was kid in the late 80's, and strollers used to be just a tiny chair that folded up no bigger than a large umbrella. Much like SUV's, some think the addition of a child requires the largest and bulkiest stroller they can find. Disneyland just wasn't meant to accomodate those, as you ca  More...

I wonder if the reason why they didn't do the snow had to do with the wet whether. The snow seems to be soap suds. Soap suds + wet pavement + crowds = lawsuits and injuries lol

@JJ: Most of the crowds are out of towners here for the Rose Bowl/Rose Parade. After this weekend, things should calm down. January is historically the off season. Unfortunately, a lot of attractions close in January too.

@Jann: Rope drop happens everyday. @5ryans: Rope drop is what happens when the park first opens. At the end of Main Street, security guards hold ropes to keep people from entering the park, soon as it's open, they "drop" it.
