It's my last day in California before I go study abroad in Italy! Any last minute advice for a young international traveler (I've already seen the movie Taken ) have a magical day everyone!

How exciting! Having lived in another country on a couple of occasions, I'd say firstly, check all your assumptions at the door and be open to new experiences. Try to avoid saying "Back home we..." unless someone is asking you specifically about something back home. Immerse yourself in the culture as much as possible and try not to think about the things you miss, because one day you'll be back home missing things from the new country. Be in every moment. And finally, allow yourself the days when you feel a bit overwhelmed by homesickness. It happens and it may last a few days but it'll pass. BLG- I will almost certainly get homesick, but I'll fight through it! Fortunately technology makes things a little easier. I've heard that reverse culture shock after coming home can be as bad, if not worse than the initial culture shock. - Neverland31 16.7 #5433 6:17PM

Only one week left in America. I've been consuming as much Mexican food as possible, but I wish I could have one last churro or a corn dog from Disneyland. Italy doesn't seem to have much of those... Strange, right?
