I have been just as confused as you are! I think it has something to do with characters at locations...
I believe it's only at DCA and you buy the map and when you find the eggs you mark your map with the stickers and when your done you get two vinylmation keychains - Cinderellaaa

You buy the map AND the stickers, so you have them at the start. The map has the locations of all the eggs. When you find the egg, you take the matching sticker off and put it on the map. Afterwards, you go back to Elias and Co to claim the prize. However, you don't need to find ANY of the eggs if you don't want to, they will still give you the prize. - bluefairy
