I taught summer school an just had a wOoping 1.5 weeks off. I start this Thursday, but already had trainings and have been planning on my time off. But when my students ask me what I did this summer, I'll say "One word: Disneyland." haha! Off to change some lives!
I was in a presentation given by the lead designer, about an hour and a half of awesome info- sOOOO much detail and planning. There was a reason for every single change/addition. I LOVE it as well. Thanks!
Can't be picky when ur on a budget. I worked my butt off to graduate HS, college, and get a teaching job. One of my motivations was to one day have the priviledge of being AP holders. I survived not going to DL for YEARS AN YEARS. but it was sOOOO worth it! It is even more fun when u work hard for it- trust me. Good luck! And if u don't get to go, don't forget- its not the end of the world..I'm su More...
Just yesterday, Tom Fitzgerald gave a very thorough presentation on how the new star tours came to be. Starting in 1998, and opening this year. They are totally random, to sum it up for you. He said even he has no idea what he would be getting when he rides. He specifically said, he kept both the people that would ride only once on their vacation as well as the APs that visit the parks very often. More...
A personal favorite is the beautifully hand crafted music box
A fun video from 2013, the story behind the music box with Clopin, Figaro and the even watch the Tangled Tower being put into the Fantasy Faire:
Of course, no trip to the Fantasy Faire would be complete without a visit to the Royal Hall. Loved this artist rendition, that's just how my girls are when they enter the Hall. ::sigh::
Took this next part directly from Disney Parks Blog:
“After walking into our main entrance, you will first go through a garden-like setting before entering the reception hall,” said Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director of Fantasy Faire for Walt Disney Imagineering. “Once inside the Royal Hall, guests will discover a beautiful gothic interior with nice wallpaper, wall cresting, wood finishes and chandeliers.”
Passing through a series of spaces, including the Grand Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to meet as many as three Disney princesses, from classic stories such as “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty.”
Dont forget to grab a sweet treat from Maurice's Treats! At the time, (isn't there more now?) the adorable cart featured 3 “Twists” and a new signature beverage: Boysen Apple Freeze.
In a tribute to the historic Carnation Plaza Gardens, a shield over the archway leading from Fantasy Faire to Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland displays the letters “CPG.”
