last night we told the kids we are going to Disneyland in October. We told them by playing a game of hangman with them. They went we so excited after they figured it out. Have any of you ever told your kids in a creative way that they were going to Disneyland ?
Once, we told our kids we were going for a drive to the outlet stores an hour away from us. When we passed them and kept on driving, we told them we were actually going to these new outlets down in LA. Now, we live 4 1/2 hrs from Disneyland. But we kept them guessing the whole time. We finally pulled off the freeway near DL to "get gas". We then drove to the hotel and sprung the news. That was about 4 years ago. Hard to fool them now, but they enjoyed it at the time!! - JustGoofyDad

Last October my daughter and I decided we wanted to surprise her 3 kids by taking them to Disneyland for the Halloween party. We had to go to LA for my youngest daughter's baby shower in Ontario so we thought why not go on Friday and take them. As we drove down the oldest one said this was the way to Disneyland. We told them we were on the way to the hotel, we stayed at the Candy Cane Inn that weekend. As I turned off on Disney Way they saw Disneyland ahead and just sighed. That's when we asked them if they would like to go trick or treating at Disneyland that night. They were so excited and we had the best time. The next day all they talked about was the Halloween party at Disneyland and thanked us many times for taking them there. - Diznimom

yes, the decor was a bit dark but other than that very clean and spacious. conv location too, we dont do the bus or tram since we have a stroller so the easy walk is well worth the stay. needed something with three beds so we even got a free upgrade to the room w four queens and two baths. it was huge. - MrAndMrsDisney

We just stayed there in Apr and it is the best bang for the buck we've found. The breakfast was good. Rooms were clean, quiet and updated. The pool is small but clean. Not much if a walk even for our 7 and 9 yr olds. - angryduck
