Get to the gates early! We went on a Saturday a week and a half ago. Got in line at the gate at 7:00am. They open the gates about 15-20 minutes early to Buena Vista. You can't go beyond Buena Vista but the fast pass line will start to form to the right of Carthay Circle restaurant. The fast pass machines open up when they drop the rope at 8AM.

Instead of waiting an hour for Fast Passes, how about waiting in the actual line? Even if you have to wait a little bit longer then an hour at least in the morning it would be cooler then the afternoon/evening when your FP will finally be available. - Armenda 992.5 #89 10:25AM

The Hojo is one of our preferred good neighbor hotels. Besides the MW discount, they also offer discounts to AP holders. I'm not sure if there is a difference between the two. Rooms are a little dated, but very clean and comfortable. The pirate pool is great for the kids. If you are facing the park, beware the fireworks are very, very loud!

After 7 or 8 failed attempts, over two separate 3 day trips, both of my sons finally got picked for the same show. How did we do it? After the last failed attempt, my older son begged me to get him a lightsaber so he could wave it during the selection. I gave in and and bought one. Sure enough, he got picked. He handed it to his younger brother and he started waving it and then he got picked More...

My son has only ever been picked once and it wasn't on his b-day. He might have been wearing the Star Wars shirt with the Jedi emblem on it that day. I know he definitely was wearing my aztec gold pirate coin necklace. The last time he tried, he had his b-day button on, and was jumping around saying "Please Master pick me like crazy." We would get "new releases" about 3-4 weeks after they come out and they were always 10-15 dollars more plus you had to pay for shipping. Use Amazon or pick up the movies at the store.

We stayed at the DL Hotel 2 months ago and we had a stroller. We took the monorail a couple times. The stroller certainly can be a hassle because you have to have it folded and if you use it as rolling storage like we do that adds to the hassle. Since it was the holidays we also found ourselves waiting 15-20 minutes for the monorail. We found it was usually quicker to just walk thru DTD and More...

Keep in mind that if you go to Magic Mornings, the Monorail isn't open that early (at least when we went) so you'll end up walking anyway. But it really is not far and I love walking DTD anyway. :) - Melliott 299.4 #613 10:43AM

I stayed at the DL hotel in Dec. and the monorail was running for magic morning. They checked our hotel keys there. But I prefer walking down main street for magic morning. It may not run every magic morning day though, this was during a very busy time at the park. - tballzz 390.1 #345 10:56AM

I don't think the morning trip into the parks is very beneficial. Especially for early entry, as it isn't running. It's great for the mid day trips back to the hotels for naps and lunch. It was far better staying at the DL Hotel when it had it's own station. But the walk is about the same from either hotel to the DTD station. I really liked it when Luke was on the plank above the Sarlacc pit and did that 360 back flip while R2 launched his light saber to him. Gave me chills as a kid and seeing these glasses brought back the memories of having the set. Please add me. May the force be with me!
