We have a tight little crew here at a mega resort here in Vegas who searches my posts to answer a question the next day at a buzz meeting. The winner gets to fly out in a private jet with us and spend the weekend. Please just scroll by if this upsets you. Thanks for your input, but Duchess_SMK already has a series called "Today in Disney History" that she does pretty regularly. My dad was a ride operator in Fantasyland for 5 years in the early days. We went all the time in the summer. I remember the lack of trees compared to what they have now. I remember the smell of diesel fumes since many of the rides were powered by diesel engines. My oldest brother took us to lunch in DD today, he said my parents took them to DL the first year, I took him to see the photos in the DL hotel, and he was telling us all kinds of things about back then. He said the main thing is how much all the trees have grown in, before, and with each new addition, the trees are so small, but by the time he comes back, all have grown so tall.
