Thanks to all of you for posting such great pictures and maintaining the Disneyland attitude. It's nice to have somewhere to go to from home and always find positive things to read and see

Just saw Disney on Ice Dare to Dream with my little guy and decided I would love to see them do a Villains themed show

Just curious...for all you past and present cm. Does Disneyland lose some "magic" once you work there or is it as "magical" as before you started working?
As a current CM speaking from experience, for a while the magic is lost, especially as you're trying to figure out the ins and outs of your job and how you fit in to the puzzle. Eventually, though, you rediscover the magic: whether by talking with a guest on their first visit, hearing a touching story, or actually being in the park as a guest and just observing. I work at Opera House and I love standing outside greeting guests and watching the character interactions nearby. I often end up tearing up because of how sweet the moment is or hearing parents say to their children for the first time that they're at Disneyland and "look! There's Mickey and Minnie!" You also have to remember that you help make the magic. If the magic disappears for you, maybe you have to go find that situation where you can help someone rediscover the magic as well. I love working at Disneyland. Although I've only held 2 other jobs in the past, this one is by far my favorite! - IDVandalSkipperCM  1295.4 #63 8:18AM
aww. how sweet. love it :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.9 #42 8:21AM
This a wonderful! Thanks for sharing this story :) - mrscttlemstr  236.9 #1145 10:28AM
Awesome reply! I love that you tear up when observing magic moments of others! I think I would too! Keep up the great job! - jjdq  326.7 #490 12:36PM
I had to rediscover the magic through first time visitors of Carsland... My job was getting stale... Drama was rising... I managed to rekindle some of the magic by experiencing my land with first time visitors. Gotta find a way to keep the magic going. - BCC  4640.8 #5 12:50PM
Personally, I want to work there someday and honestly I don't mind if it loses some magic. As long as it means that I'm bringing magic to guests' trips, then it doesn't matter :) and I feel like that will keep the Disney magic alive for me. Guess it really depends on the outlook(: - AvidDisneyThrifter220  850.9 #107 1:24AM
I agree with IDVandalSkipper. Yes, when first getting used to the job, the magic is gone, but after being apart of park, you discover it back in sometimes the obvious ways or in times when you didn't expect it. When working in merch, its fun to interact with the little kids and kneel down to their level to make them special when they're buying a plush or toy with their own money. Also, its fun to even have sword or gun fights in the middle of the store! And outside, just casually watching a character meet and greet or any show, its fun to see guests' faces light up in awe and amazement while I cross the street and ask myself "this is the place I work at?!" - BaseballMickey_CM  2851.4 #16 10:02AM
I know it's off topic but I just want to say "Thank You" to you CMs...you really make each trip memorable and I appreciate you all!! - MissAmericaSings  279.1 #738 12:57PM

Trying to decide between staying at the Grand or Disneyland Hotel for our next visit. I have 2 small boys, which hotel would you all recommend for them?
DL Hotel, bigger rooms. The Grand is more expensive and has the smallest rooms of all the DLR hotels. You could stay one or two night more at DL hotel than Grand. - splashphotoCM  880.9 #101 12:40AM
Thanks everyone. Going to book DLH got this trip and save the Grand till they get older - Minderella  261.6 #900 2:34PM
DLH! 😍 - Sweet_Irish_Cream  2564.6 #22 7:33PM
I have stayed at all three resort hotels and love DLH the best! I have two young kids and they love it there too. The pools are so much fun and the headboard rules. I love the Grand too but the rooms are smaller and your view can be hit or miss. I have had concierge level park views and views of the valet area. My 4 y/o calls the DLH "Mickey mouse's hotel" and hasn't named the others. Clearly, one had an impact. You'll have fun at whichever one you pick! Have a great time. - tballzz  390.1 #345 8:05PM

If you have an slr camera what is it? Does it advance fast enough to get action shots. My hubby said I can buy one finally. TIA for your advice. Gotta get It before the may trip to the land
Depending on model you can get 3 to 9 shots per second. - HotDiggityDogDaddy  1112.2 #74 10:13PM
I'm looking for one right now too. So far I've found that canon rebels work nicely, have great features, and have the most for your money. I used them in y photo classes back in high school and I have a film rebel. Nothing but greatness. Just a warning, nikon mAkes a similar model, but no live display on the screen, only through the viewfinder. And the nikon costs more. - ladylikesdisney  921.5 #95 10:14PM
I'm thinking of buying the Canon Rebel t2i, they have a cool package at Costco right now that includes an extra lens, a bag, a SD card and a couple of other things - RandyNewman  401.0 #332 8:34AM
