So I'm a little confused about the new Frozen part of DCA...will things be open next week too? I thought it wasn't going to start until 1/7, but I guess some is opening early? Does anyone know if this will continue into next week? Thanks!! ❄️❄️⛄️⛄️

Olaf's Snow Fest is slated to open on Dec. 27. Everything else is basically open now and will continue through its May 15th end date. - susieQzee  548.6 #324 10:00PM
Perfect, thank you!  I was totally wrong w/the date.  Yay! - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 10:11PM
Jan 7 is the official date where everything should be going. Also, that's the day where Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones tell the story of Frozen in Fantasy Faire - BaseballMickey_CM  6359.6 #12 10:17PM

For WDW dining reservations...can I make them starting at midnight the day I'm eligible? Why did I think it was 6am EST...which is correct? I asked this on FL too but I'm super confused and got different answers from WDW even. Thanks if anyone knows for sure!!

I believe it's midnight EST, so 9pm PST. - DLKenCA  1759.9 #75 4:28PM
Oh thank you...not even past my bedtime.  Idk what is at 6 that I'm confused with and when I called WDW they were unsure about doing it online. 😐 - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 4:30PM
Its 6am, 3am our time.  FP+ are midnight local time, 9pm our time - GoofyMom77  637.7 #266 6:11PM
Oh it is 6am?!?  Bummer!  I think I'll still try at 9 since there's lots of misinformation.  Thanks! - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 6:47PM
You might try to make an early reservation for something you don't want before. So try tonight for something 180 days out. See if it shows up at 9pm pst, midnight pst, or some other time. That's the best way to confirm. I haven't tried, only relied on what I read.  I also suggest trying after if you don't get it. People cancel.  I got Cinderella Castle about a week before we went for lunch. - DLKenCA  1759.9 #75 5:00PM
This is my 180 days...well, tonight. 😁 - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 5:21PM
I guess you will be on at 9pm. Good luck! - DLKenCA  1759.9 #75 7:09PM
I failed LOL...but thanks! - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 9:07PM
So in case anyone wants to theory you can begin making dining at 3am, but they don't 'guarantee' that it will be ready for all selections until 4am. - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 11:55AM
I want to get a group thing going for a bunch of us to go for like 10 days, but it seems like so much work to do beforehand. I've read a few on the WDW side where they just go for a couple hours but you wait in some longgggg lines!   We are so blessed to live here with our park!!!! - secretagentangel  1304.6 #103 3:33PM
It's as much or as little work as you want to make it...I researched everything last time but feel like I don't need to as much now.  The lines are really not bad there, not sure why but that seems to be a common misconception.  We went in June and never waited more than 15-20 minutes for anything. - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 4:20PM

Has anyone stayed at the Camelot Inn on Harbor recently and want to share their thoughts/review? Thanks so much!! I did search on here and what little info there is on this hotel is a few years old...

This is where we stay. Have always had great times there. Not fancy, but great view ofDL. They have a small number of rooms that have balconies that face the park which are the ones we get. OK for fireworks viewing. McDonald's next door better than free breakfast, but I think the pool smells like POTC!!! - PrincessCindy  111.5 #3233 8:53PM
We won't be using the pool...but maybe they should add more chlorine?!?  Thanks so much for the info!!  πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 9:10PM

We have a pool at home so we don't go swimming at hotels really unless there's water slides too.  But I agree...I'd be a little worried about that smell.  Probably their chemicals are just out of balance I would guess.   - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 9:48PM

We had the family suite and had 7 people. 1 bathroom but it worked out okay. Since we spent most of the time at the parks it was ok that the hotel was pretty dated but it was very clean. And so close to the parks walking after a long day was a breeze. Plus our room had a view of the Matterhorn and we could see the fireworks. We rebooked for our next trip in October.  - calebsmommy  37.4 #4885 9:40AM

We stay there in the Family Suite. When we don't need the family suite, we stay at their sister hotel 2 doors down at the Tropicana. Both great for the location and closeness. Clean, affordable rooms. Nothing fancy, but how much time do you really spend in the room? - chelebee  302.2 #802 10:54AM

For the Disney races (specifically the 10K) you recommend driving and parking in the structure or taking a hotel shuttle? If we choose to drive, what time do you recommend arriving at the structure before the race? Thank you!!

I had some worries about taking my 7 year old, but I have talked to other parents who took their younger kids (4) and said it was fine.  My mom is thinking about taking him tomorrow.  To me it looks scary, but from what I have been told it is not so bad. - Thumper13  426.8 #448 12:33PM
My 4 year old loved it but she also loves action type movies. The dragon part didn't scare her at all, but some of the earlier parts did with a slight war scene. She was fine with all other scary parts. If your mini scares easily though, it might be better to wait.  - warchanted  139.2 #2757 9:42PM

Wanted to ask for any advice on WDW FP+ reservations...I've searched on here and on MW Florida and it seems like it's a good idea to get them for parades and fireworks, but not so much for the shows. Any other opinions or attractions you definitely would recommend getting reservations for? Thanks!!

You really need to pick out some attractions you would like to see when you go there. It really depends on the park for each attraction and how busy it is. When I went in January, it wasn't too busy, so we didn't have to use it a lot, but we did just to try it out. If its busier, I would use it for Fantasmic and the Electrical Parade. For shows it works like WOC, where there is a designated area for those have a FP+. Recently I heard at Epcot that there is a special station for those who want a FP+ for their "E ticket" attractions only. Hope this helps. - BaseballMickey_CM  6359.6 #12 9:36PM
Thank you, we're going when it's busy so we need to use them all haha!  I read that for some shows there isn't a designated area really but you can just come last minute without waiting...sounds like I need to research that more.  πŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 9:43PM

WDW question: we need to make our dining reservations soon so I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of not to miss places? One factor is that our kids are very picky eaters. Thanks! I also asked on MW Florida but would love any additional suggestions.

My favorites from the trips I've taken were Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, O'hana at Polynesian, Le Cellier at Epcot, California Grill at Contemporary (awesome outdoor deck for Wishes viewing), and Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom. I've heard Coral Reef at Epcot is amazing if you like seafood, which I'm not really into much so I haven't visited. If you want to check out Be Our Guest or Cinderella's Royal Table, you will pretty much need a reservation as soon as you can, but you can always wait in line for lunch at BOG. For breakfast, I'd definitely recommend Kona Cafe at the Polynesian simply for the Tonga Toast, it's a giant french toast stuffed with banana. Finally, I'd suggest checking out Rose and Crown at Epcot for the pub experience and hopefully you catch Carl working. Hopefully Dave comes along to comment, he's been there more and can comment more on the places I haven't tried. If you have any questions of cuisine or anything, let me know. - CM_Shadowgamer  2375.0 #49 8:31PM

Awesome!  Hope you have a great trip.  I've asked a ton of ? on MW Florida and they are super helpful.  πŸ˜„ - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 9:16PM
Thanks hope you have a great time too! I'll have to go check out the wdw sideπŸ‘ - LuvsMimisHouse  515.6 #356 9:45PM
have you made reservations for be our guest yet? you need to do them immediately if you want to go for dinner. - nicoleface  1749.9 #76 9:21AM
We've done 50's prime time, we thought it was really fun and the food was good, too. On our next trip in a couple years, we're going to try Sci-Fi - GoofyMom77  637.7 #266 9:36AM
@GoofyMom77 I am so excited about the 50's cafe! I love that era :). Are the portions big? @nicoleface Of course there was nothing available for dinner, but I don't mind going to lunch. We booked our trip last minuet😬. But did reserve for 50's cafe & Sci-Fi dine in πŸ‘ - LuvsMimisHouse  515.6 #356 12:54PM
I have dine at Sci-Fi and the menu definitely improved from the first time we went. Definitely get that reservation in so you can sit in a car. My son gets the hot dog, and because of his lactose intolerance. They gave him flatbread instead of a bun. He scarfed it down. We also had lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. I did not care for my food. It was the only vegetarian option available. My son had grilled chicken with rice and vegetables. He liked what he had a lot. - Lelundrial  478.3 #386 1:02PM
The portions were normal people size, not tiny but not giant either. - GoofyMom77  637.7 #266 3:44PM
If you don't get your choice, keep checking, as I'm sure reservations get canceled all the time, especially with the deposit rules at some places.  They also have an app that you can use to make reservations (don't remember what it's called, I didn't have it on my phone).  You can easily see what is available and book it yourself.  We used it on our trip in march to book a last minute dinner at nine dragons (I don't recommend it if you are used to legit Chinese food 😏).  For kids, I second cinderella's royal table and be our guest, more for ambience than food, but it's still good.  I haven't eaten there yet, but the Biergarten is a top choice for me, for personal reasons, lol! πŸ’— - bluefairy  643.3 #261 1:36PM
Thank you, appreciate your suggestions!  πŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  772.0 #206 3:42PM
Have you downloaded the My Disney Experience App yet? I think you can add/delete dining reservations from it and see menus - TinkerAli  229.7 #1500 3:54PM

WDW hotel question: we're booking our trip w/our 2 kiddos (ages 8 & 5) and splitting our time between a few hotels but can't decide between the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary Bay Lake Tower. I'm also going to ask on MW Florida...but since many of you have been, do you have a hotel preference between these? Thank you!! ✨✨

Yes! I prefer that you take ME with you!!! - RCmom  5220.9 #15 7:43PM
