Has anyone stayed at the Camelot Inn on Harbor recently and want to share their thoughts/review? Thanks so much!! I did search on here and what little info there is on this hotel is a few years old...
This is where we stay. Have always had great times there. Not fancy, but great view ofDL. They have a small number of rooms that have balconies that face the park which are the ones we get. OK for fireworks viewing. McDonald's next door better than free breakfast, but I think the pool smells like POTC!!! - PrincessCindy  90.6 #3509 8:53PM
We won't be using the pool...but maybe they should add more chlorine?!?  Thanks so much for the info!!  πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 9:10PM
So don't go swimming? Lol - TrueFromOzLovesDisney  447.5 #420 9:43PM
We have a pool at home so we don't go swimming at hotels really unless there's water slides too.  But I agree...I'd be a little worried about that smell.  Probably their chemicals are just out of balance I would guess.   - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 9:48PM
Stayed at a family suite this past summer and really liked it! It's good price for the location and it's pretty clean. The proximity to Disneyland is amazing and the pizza press is right there too.  - Jeaniust  123.8 #2968 9:15PM
Great, thank you! - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 9:22PM
Pizza Press is delicious!  - susieQzee  547.4 #320 9:44PM
We had the family suite and had 7 people. 1 bathroom but it worked out okay. Since we spent most of the time at the parks it was ok that the hotel was pretty dated but it was very clean. And so close to the parks walking after a long day was a breeze. Plus our room had a view of the Matterhorn and we could see the fireworks. We rebooked for our next trip in October.  - calebsmommy  28.6 #5370 9:40AM
Perfect, glad you liked it! - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 12:02PM
We stay there in the Family Suite. When we don't need the family suite, we stay at their sister hotel 2 doors down at the Tropicana. Both great for the location and closeness. Clean, affordable rooms. Nothing fancy, but how much time do you really spend in the room? - chelebee  299.7 #806 10:54AM

For the Disney races (specifically the 10K)...do you recommend driving and parking in the structure or taking a hotel shuttle? If we choose to drive, what time do you recommend arriving at the structure before the race? Thank you!!
The shuttle's great. I don't believe the structure is open since that's where the race starts. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.9 #274 5:33PM
Art offers free shuttles for racers and family. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.9 #274 5:33PM

Structure is open extremely early. That's an option you have. I believe it's even free prior a certain hour for volunteers but they don't ask, they just let you in.  - MarshaMouse  4069.0 #24 8:46PM

I had some worries about taking my 7 year old, but I have talked to other parents who took their younger kids (4) and said it was fine.  My mom is thinking about taking him tomorrow.  To me it looks scary, but from what I have been told it is not so bad. - Thumper13  394.5 #491 12:33PM
My 4 year old loved it but she also loves action type movies. The dragon part didn't scare her at all, but some of the earlier parts did with a slight war scene. She was fine with all other scary parts. If your mini scares easily though, it might be better to wait.  - warchanted  129.0 #2889 9:42PM

Wanted to ask for any advice on WDW FP+ reservations...I've searched on here and on MW Florida and it seems like it's a good idea to get them for parades and fireworks, but not so much for the shows. Any other opinions or attractions you definitely would recommend getting reservations for? Thanks!!
You really need to pick out some attractions you would like to see when you go there. It really depends on the park for each attraction and how busy it is. When I went in January, it wasn't too busy, so we didn't have to use it a lot, but we did just to try it out. If its busier, I would use it for Fantasmic and the Electrical Parade. For shows it works like WOC, where there is a designated area for those have a FP+. Recently I heard at Epcot that there is a special station for those who want a FP+ for their "E ticket" attractions only. Hope this helps. - BaseballMickey_CM  6068.2 #13 9:36PM
Thank you, we're going when it's busy so we need to use them all haha!  I read that for some shows there isn't a designated area really but you can just come last minute without waiting...sounds like I need to research that more.  πŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 9:43PM

WDW question: we need to make our dining reservations soon so I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of not to miss places? One factor is that our kids are very picky eaters. Thanks! I also asked on MW Florida but would love any additional suggestions.
My favorites from the trips I've taken were Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, O'hana at Polynesian, Le Cellier at Epcot, California Grill at Contemporary (awesome outdoor deck for Wishes viewing), and Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom. I've heard Coral Reef at Epcot is amazing if you like seafood, which I'm not really into much so I haven't visited. If you want to check out Be Our Guest or Cinderella's Royal Table, you will pretty much need a reservation as soon as you can, but you can always wait in line for lunch at BOG. For breakfast, I'd definitely recommend Kona Cafe at the Polynesian simply for the Tonga Toast, it's a giant french toast stuffed with banana. Finally, I'd suggest checking out Rose and Crown at Epcot for the pub experience and hopefully you catch Carl working. Hopefully Dave comes along to comment, he's been there more and can comment more on the places I haven't tried. If you have any questions of cuisine or anything, let me know. - CM_Shadowgamer  2356.4 #46 8:31PM

have you made reservations for be our guest yet? you need to do them immediately if you want to go for dinner. - nicoleface  1746.9 #73 9:21AM
We've done 50's prime time, we thought it was really fun and the food was good, too. On our next trip in a couple years, we're going to try Sci-Fi - GoofyMom77  480.9 #378 9:36AM
@GoofyMom77 I am so excited about the 50's cafe! I love that era :). Are the portions big? @nicoleface Of course there was nothing available for dinner, but I don't mind going to lunch. We booked our trip last minuet😬. But did reserve for 50's cafe & Sci-Fi dine in πŸ‘ - LuvsMimisHouse  494.8 #370 12:54PM
I have dine at Sci-Fi and the menu definitely improved from the first time we went. Definitely get that reservation in so you can sit in a car. My son gets the hot dog, and because of his lactose intolerance. They gave him flatbread instead of a bun. He scarfed it down. We also had lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table. I did not care for my food. It was the only vegetarian option available. My son had grilled chicken with rice and vegetables. He liked what he had a lot. - Lelundrial  468.4 #392 1:02PM
The portions were normal people size, not tiny but not giant either. - GoofyMom77  480.9 #378 3:44PM
If you don't get your choice, keep checking, as I'm sure reservations get canceled all the time, especially with the deposit rules at some places.  They also have an app that you can use to make reservations (don't remember what it's called, I didn't have it on my phone).  You can easily see what is available and book it yourself.  We used it on our trip in march to book a last minute dinner at nine dragons (I don't recommend it if you are used to legit Chinese food 😏).  For kids, I second cinderella's royal table and be our guest, more for ambience than food, but it's still good.  I haven't eaten there yet, but the Biergarten is a top choice for me, for personal reasons, lol! πŸ’— - bluefairy  643.3 #259 1:36PM
Thank you, appreciate your suggestions!  πŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 3:42PM

They did sell out, however two CMs did confirm that they will be back in the parks in the near future. They did not give a date. - jr91  650.3 #256 6:54AM

Thank you so very much @pinkmonkeys for the box FULL of D23 expo goodies!! You are so generous, my kids and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness! My oldest is especially excited for the Darth Vader lunch container, he'll use that when he returns to school this week. Thanks again!!

DL Hotel Question: the Monorail watersides look pretty tame to me...meaning they are made for kiddos to also enjoy? Can anyone who has stayed there w/young kids confirm whether this is the case? My kids are 8 & 5 and are pretty good swimmers, I am assuming they'd most likely have no issues with them? Thank you!!
Haven't stayed there... EverπŸ˜” When are you going?! I want to stow away in your suitcase! I'm sure your hubby won't mind!! I'll sleep in the closet!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - RCmom  5167.4 #15 8:26PM
I've never stayed there either...currently trying to talk him into the Halloween Party since we don't have APs anymore, wish me luck! ✨ - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 8:56PM
Those slides are pretty tame...ofcourse you must always supervise your children...you are the best judge of your children and should have a sense of what they are comfortable with doing...wishing you the best stay :-) - uscdisneyteacher  7219.9 #5 8:30PM
Thank you for your help!! Yes we would definitely be supervising the whole time, just wanted to get an opinion on the slides for kids in general. Thanks again. - MinnieMousewife  751.3 #208 8:58PM
We were just there. Our friend had a mini that just turned 9 and he loved it. At the bottom of the two monerail slide there is a slide for small minis. I think your 5 year oldmight enjoy that one if the big ones are too high for him. My mini just turned one so I didn't put him on any slides, but that was my own preference. - sultan  33.3 #5043 10:16PM
My 8 year old loves the slides. She also did them a year ago when she had just turned 7. Perfect for that age. And as someone mentioned, there are smaller ones, too. - MeridaFan  3398.9 #27 10:18PM
