Get to the gate an hour before stated opening time! This is good advise no matter where you stay. But if you stay at a Disney hotel you will get early admission to one or the other park daily anyway. Use those early hours!
Hi and welcome! I always have the same advice: get there early, skip breakfast until later. You can ride major attractions and get fast passes while everybody else is eating and window shopping. Then you can eat and use your fast passes and enjoy your day without standing in line the entire time. Have fun! - ShariRenee  3876.6 #23 2:43PM

Welcome! And my first advice would actually be to soak the magic in. Let it consume you and just have fun. Sometimes we plan the trip so much that we forget to just enjoy the magic  - EnchantedTiki  7.1 #11362 8:56PM
I agree that taking time to relax and enjoy the magic is a must!  IMHO, I also think that having a plan is a must, especially for those of us that only get to go to the park every few years!  Last time we went, we used ridemax and it was worth every penny.  Look at maps and try to get familiar with the parks so you don't waste time just trying to figure out where you are and how to get where you want to be.  Balancing the art of having a plan, but being flexible is how we get the most magic out of the limited time we are able to spend there.  AND... For us, at least one character breakfast is a MUST!!!  - angelaprkns  9.2 #9519 9:09PM
Welcome to MW! My advice is to set time aside from the rides to just wander and be one with the parks. There's so much to see and do, and sometimes sitting somewhere eating something yummy and taking it all in is the best! - BibbidiBobbidiMe  20.3 #6163 9:14PM

Oh man!  Wish I could get there! What does the secret one look like?  Not that I will be able to colect any, but very curious!  It sounds like it would be a ball to do and something different for a keepsake
@Plumiegirl did it last week. I was there for part of her game and it seemed like a bunch of fun - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3904.9 #22 3:37PM
It's fun, but will cost you about $75 and most of the day to buy the different jujus. Overall pretty fun. Definitely something different to do. A little bit chaotic. There are also at least one "secret" juju you can only get by following them on Twitter and having the jujus. - DLKenCA  1460.7 #84 4:21PM

Not sure what box or in whose attic but I am on the hunt! First trip. I was 5. I thought it was a place like Neverland. Not real!
If your post gets pushed down by other posts, just bump it yourself by adding a short comment. 'Can anyone answer this, please ' would work. Sometimes posts don't get seen. Sometimes people don't have the answer. Sometimes an answer might be found by reading other posts in the lounge. You're right that people have becomes friends and friendly on here. It would be a pretty boring place otherwise. I do understand how it might feel cliquey to a newcomer. But for those who want to feel a part of things, the answer is to jump in and become a part of the community. There are folks on MW from all over the world. I can think of at least two MWers from Australia who have managed to make themselves part of the fun here. They certainly aren't in the parks all the time. Far from it. If you enjoy a picture that someone has posted, please tell them so. You can also show appreciation my 'thanking' quality posts. By not thanking or commenting on other posts, they will get pushed down.  How this helps! - MeridaFanHasNoAP  3247.5 #27 6:43PM
I don't think people are intentionally ignoring questions, but I do understand what you mean. I don't post much anymore because I noticed that even when I was in the parks, by the time my pics would load, it would be waaay down the page, due to flooding of pics in the lounge. I definitely don't think people were ignoring my pics/posts. It's just impossible to keep them bumped with the high volume of pics posted daily by people there every day. - RCmom  5020.6 #15 7:14PM

Everyone should be able to post their pix. Thats part of what community is all about. Sharing the lounge. Everyone should have equal opportunity to participate. It is so much more fun to see lots of different perspectives from behind the camera. So please post your pix when you are here. I love when out of towners her to go and I know what I can expect from this person or that in respect to the types of pix we will be blessed with. I always enjoy seeing how RCmom's beautiful girls have grown from the last trip. What antics our HandMeAChurroImmaFaint is going to get into. Keeps it fresh and lots of fun in the Lounge. And if you comment on others' posts in the meantime, people will get a chance to get to know you, so when you visit the parks next, we can look forward to your posts too DeneciePie - MeridaFanHasNoAP  3247.5 #27 8:03PM
I think that sometimes questions go unanswered because we tend to look for pictures, which isn't right.  I am guilty of that myself.  As for when I am in the parks, which is only a few times a year due to living in Texas, I don't post to try to get comments or thank you's, I just post to try to add quality content. For all I care, people can look at my picture and think of the parks and move on, I don't need my ego stroked by thank you's.  I am going to work on answering questions, or if I don't know the answer, just responding so that people do not feel ignored.  This is a community, and we should all be willing to help with even the simplest of questions! - Thumper13  352.7 #569 1:31PM
I always try to answer questions if I know the answer. I'm in the Phoenix area and am not in the park that often. I would say that posts do get pushed down often and if nobody comments on it, they will never see it. If you post late at night and then 100 people post after it, the question might get pushed down. Same thing could happen if it's in the morning. I don't think anybody purposely would not answer. They also might have been afraid if they said nope crowds have been light that the next day they would be overflowing. Crowds can vary and they might have been afraid to give the wrong answer. Or they were in the park and never saw the question. Don't give up on asking questions.  - warchanted  119.3 #3032 7:03PM

I am not " down" on Mousewait. I just noticed that my last question went unanswered for days and a similar query I found only got one.  I know that a lot of the time asking questions about crowds is asking for clairvoyant abilities! But I and the other questioner figured someone who is there at least once a week could tell us if they thought the attendance was lighter than usual .  Sadly  More...

I so envy those of you who get to do this!! I don't get to come back until October . It will be long gone by then!  So cool!  Thanks for sharing!
there is a cost of 30$ up front to get the map and info to find the juju. The first 2 juju cost $10, the eye of mara was free, the piranha was free, the pineapple cost $7 for the parfait...it was ok, the snake cost $7 for the snake venom juice which was good but sugary. The elephant was free, the parrot was free, the tiki mask cost $7.50 at the bar. Β Too sugary i tossed it into the trash. Maybe one could ask for a drink substitution. Make sure you open the last envelope to get the questions to answer because the answers are in adventureland not at the Trader sams all the way out at the dl hotel. Total cost was around $62 for these. It was fun to do and I really needed the diversion. The CMs were a lot of fun helping you out.Β  - Plumiegirl  7728.9 #3 3:01PM

Thank you!  We have come for Halloweentime and Christmas-ish. We love it!  What I was curious about is this. We try to come when school is in hoping for lighter crowds but the parks are open much shorter hours and entertainments are curtailed. Should we bite the bullet and come ==gasp== during summer?
I was surprised two weeks ago that the crowds were relatively light for summer. But I did go on a Saturday. I hear Sundays are actually more crowded due to more Passholder attendance. Saturdays, all passes are blocked except for Premium. Hope this helps! I would always prefer heavier crowds if there are more attractions open. More options to choose from. Just my humble opinion. - Alicewhoareyou  954.2 #149 5:47PM
Also, if you haven't been during Halloween and Christmastime, I would recommend it. Magical! - Alicewhoareyou  954.2 #149 5:52PM
We went in June and had some of the lightest crowds we've ever had. We like summer for the hours and the fact the rides are usually running at max capacity. We've noticed when we visit other times of the year the wait can be as long simply because they aren't running full capacity. We do a lot of early mornings, nap, and late nights to get the most out of our trips.  - mommalostone  48.8 #4320 7:14PM
Keep an eye on when all the passes open up. Most local districts return to school the last 2 weeks in August. That means 2 things heavy crowds because folks drop their kids off at Disney as they return to their school jobs or it could get lighter. Hard to guess. This year the crowds were different than before. Heavy grad nights in May till 2 weeks into June then cheap passes were blocked and the end of June was very light. July was not too bad yet it was peak in previous years. I have been out due to medical except I did visit on Wednesday and the lines were at the 55-60 min mark. Good luckΒ  - Plumiegirl  7728.9 #3 8:37PM
I think that there isn't a precise time where the parks are not very crowded, I'm about 1,500 miles away and planning is crucial for me.I've found that the second week of January  and the second week of September is the best time where crowds are ok, a maximum 45 minute wait...Hope this helps you - CaptainMouse777  7.1 #11428 8:44PM
We have done the second week of January and it was great. I don't live close but I have been going for 59 years and made sure to pass the addiction to kids and grand kids! - DeneciePie  298.8 #798 8:50PM

We just caught on to park switching the last trip. And we managed to keep three fast passes going for several hours our last day which was awesome! It was just after Easter and they had cut back hours and entertainment that week since the crowd forecast were low. We managed to swap parks and use FP to really maximize our experience !!

I want to know, too! We can only come a few times a year because of the expense of travel, hotels, meals etc. usually plan " off season" trips but it has been way more crowded in winter and short days/ limited entertainment then. If it's going to be less crowded it would be great to come in summer!
