I have an observation. Please read through before replying. I've been on MouseWait for over two years. I live 6 hours away by car so trips are a real treat. I try to post when I am at the Parks but truly, I'm not real consistent. I love the real time features, but to be honest the Lounge has turned into a hang-out for those of you who are fortunate enough to be frequent visitors. You have no idea   More...
If your post gets pushed down by other posts, just bump it yourself by adding a short comment. 'Can anyone answer this, please ' would work. Sometimes posts don't get seen. Sometimes people don't have the answer. Sometimes an answer might be found by reading other posts in the lounge. You're right that people have becomes friends and friendly on here. It would be a pretty boring place otherwise. I do understand how it might feel cliquey to a newcomer. But for those who want to feel a part of things, the answer is to jump in and become a part of the community. There are folks on MW from all over the world. I can think of at least two MWers from Australia who have managed to make themselves part of the fun here. They certainly aren't in the parks all the time. Far from it. If you enjoy a picture that someone has posted, please tell them so. You can also show appreciation my 'thanking' quality posts. By not thanking or commenting on other posts, they will get pushed down.  How this helps! - MeridaFanHasNoAP  3247.5 #27 6:43PM
I don't think people are intentionally ignoring questions, but I do understand what you mean. I don't post much anymore because I noticed that even when I was in the parks, by the time my pics would load, it would be waaay down the page, due to flooding of pics in the lounge. I definitely don't think people were ignoring my pics/posts. It's just impossible to keep them bumped with the high volume of pics posted daily by people there every day. - RCmom  5020.6 #15 7:14PM
But I love your posts so much, always great photos that offer different perspective :) - ThinkTink23  22.4 #5901 7:34PM
I love to be able to post my pictures tho. It makes me feel like I'm part even when nobody seems to see them - DeneciePie  298.8 #798 7:34PM
Everyone should be able to post their pix. Thats part of what community is all about. Sharing the lounge. Everyone should have equal opportunity to participate. It is so much more fun to see lots of different perspectives from behind the camera. So please post your pix when you are here. I love when out of towners her to go and I know what I can expect from this person or that in respect to the types of pix we will be blessed with. I always enjoy seeing how RCmom's beautiful girls have grown from the last trip. What antics our HandMeAChurroImmaFaint is going to get into. Keeps it fresh and lots of fun in the Lounge. And if you comment on others' posts in the meantime, people will get a chance to get to know you, so when you visit the parks next, we can look forward to your posts too DeneciePie - MeridaFanHasNoAP  3247.5 #27 8:03PM
I think that sometimes questions go unanswered because we tend to look for pictures, which isn't right.  I am guilty of that myself.  As for when I am in the parks, which is only a few times a year due to living in Texas, I don't post to try to get comments or thank you's, I just post to try to add quality content. For all I care, people can look at my picture and think of the parks and move on, I don't need my ego stroked by thank you's.  I am going to work on answering questions, or if I don't know the answer, just responding so that people do not feel ignored.  This is a community, and we should all be willing to help with even the simplest of questions! - Thumper13  352.7 #569 1:31PM
I always try to answer questions if I know the answer. I'm in the Phoenix area and am not in the park that often. I would say that posts do get pushed down often and if nobody comments on it, they will never see it. If you post late at night and then 100 people post after it, the question might get pushed down. Same thing could happen if it's in the morning. I don't think anybody purposely would not answer. They also might have been afraid if they said nope crowds have been light that the next day they would be overflowing. Crowds can vary and they might have been afraid to give the wrong answer. Or they were in the park and never saw the question. Don't give up on asking questions.  - warchanted  119.3 #3031 7:03PM
This is a good reminder for all of us to periodically check the "Posts with no Comments" link to see if we can either help someone out or bump their posts!  :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar  517.3 #338 10:41AM

Hey there, all you Disneyland experts, I have a question I hope you can answer. I have been watching the current crowd numbers from my home in Northern California and I have been seeing numbers in the 60-70 range all week. We usually come in the " off season" but the past few trips we have noticed the crowd numbers are usually 80-90. Are the crowds calculated the same all year? Are we just fabulou  More...
I was surprised two weeks ago that the crowds were relatively light for summer. But I did go on a Saturday. I hear Sundays are actually more crowded due to more Passholder attendance. Saturdays, all passes are blocked except for Premium. Hope this helps! I would always prefer heavier crowds if there are more attractions open. More options to choose from. Just my humble opinion. - Alicewhoareyou  954.2 #149 5:47PM
Also, if you haven't been during Halloween and Christmastime, I would recommend it. Magical! - Alicewhoareyou  954.2 #149 5:52PM
We went in June and had some of the lightest crowds we've ever had. We like summer for the hours and the fact the rides are usually running at max capacity. We've noticed when we visit other times of the year the wait can be as long simply because they aren't running full capacity. We do a lot of early mornings, nap, and late nights to get the most out of our trips.  - mommalostone  48.8 #4320 7:14PM
Keep an eye on when all the passes open up. Most local districts return to school the last 2 weeks in August. That means 2 things heavy crowds because folks drop their kids off at Disney as they return to their school jobs or it could get lighter. Hard to guess. This year the crowds were different than before. Heavy grad nights in May till 2 weeks into June then cheap passes were blocked and the end of June was very light. July was not too bad yet it was peak in previous years. I have been out due to medical except I did visit on Wednesday and the lines were at the 55-60 min mark. Good luckΒ  - Plumiegirl  7728.8 #3 8:37PM
I think that there isn't a precise time where the parks are not very crowded, I'm about 1,500 miles away and planning is crucial for me.I've found that the second week of January  and the second week of September is the best time where crowds are ok, a maximum 45 minute wait...Hope this helps you - CaptainMouse777  7.1 #11427 8:44PM
We have done the second week of January and it was great. I don't live close but I have been going for 59 years and made sure to pass the addiction to kids and grand kids! - DeneciePie  298.8 #798 8:50PM

Is the crowd index accurate? 30 seems so low for Disneyland and now I want to take that 7 hour drive back down.
I want to know, too! We can only come a few times a year because of the expense of travel, hotels, meals etc. usually plan " off season" trips but it has been way more crowded in winter and short days/ limited entertainment then. If it's going to be less crowded it would be great to come in summer! - DeneciePie  298.8 #798 12:45PM
For this year Right now it seems less crowded but next year it's going to be packed because of the anniversary. - secretagentangel  1235.4 #101 1:22PM
I need to plan another trip then. Need to finish pressing pennies. - MrFantasia2000JP  33.6 #4975 5:05PM

#NEWS Beginning October 3rd, you can make reservations for the Disneyland Resort (including DTD and the hotels) online! If you make a reservation, you will have to supply a credit card number. If you don't cancel the day before, a $10 fee will be charged. Here is the link for the reservations http://bit.ly/16XdIYo
took them long enough. WDW has had this for a LONG TIME - Dave  10978.8 #2 10:31AM
I'm really surprised they did the emails first... Kinda seems like a waste of time. But at least they're catching up finally - SPandEvLover  2723.5 #34 11:08AM
I thought WDW did too but I made reservations for this week and next week online and they didn't ask me for a credit card to book.  - Seebritatdland  268.6 #1036 11:32AM
They do ask for Credit Cards for a few of the finer dining places like CA Grill, Citricos, Jiko, and others at the resort so if you dont show up and cancel they charge you 20 buicks - Dave   10978.8 #2 11:53AM
20 buicks?!? That's kinda steep πŸš™πŸš˜πŸš—πŸš•πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - SPandEvLover  2723.5 #34 11:57AM
well if you don't have the decency to call and say your late or you cant make it and flake out on your reservation I think its fair since they are holding a spot for you at a fine dining establishment that usually has  waiting list of people who want to get in and it screws things up so its a way for them to encourage people to be courteous or pay - Dave   10978.8 #2 3:29PM
Omg SPE πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I agree, 20 Buicks is a very costly amount! Dave, 20 bucks isn't bad for what you said. πŸ˜‰ - BriHizzle  374.8 #518 3:43PM
Yeah... I get the $20, Dave. I was attempting to be funny lol - SPandEvLover  2723.5 #34 4:19PM
well the entrees at those places run from anywhere starting at 38 to 65 a plate so the 20 dollars is still much less than you'd pay for dinner - Dave   10978.8 #2 4:21PM
In the nicer restaurants, if you make a reservation, they hold the table, meaning the server cannot make income off that table, the steward, the busboy, everyone, so maybe the $20 will remind people to not flake out.  I wonder how late they will hold a table though, I have seen people be an hour late and demand to be seated.  I hope this helps the employees out too. - secretagentangel  1235.4 #101 4:27PM
Hahaha, beautifully done with the joke SP ^_^ I see what you did there! - KylaShea  626.1 #265 10:14AM
They'd better make it real simple to cancel, then!  Hopefully done online, as well.  - MeridaFanHasNoAP  3247.5 #27 7:45AM
I think I know that couple. - donnievegas  1132.4 #119 12:41AM

It kinda looks like they are pasted over another picture - E-Ticket  1065.7 #134 4:08AM
I believe I heard that If you didn't cancel it was 10 per person in the reservation party , not 10 for reservation. So if you don't cancel for a party of six its 60 dollars not 10 :( - Javee714  7.9 #10521 10:25AM

It's hard being a super hero. My son is obsessed with buzz lightyear in case you couldn't tell. He fell asleep wearing his buzz lightyear wings, next to his buzz computer, after playing with his buzz toys (thrown on the floor). Lol. Love it.
