My husband wanted to be spontaneous...drive 6 hours down to Disneyland stay the night and then go in for 11 hrs and then drive back home! With 3 kids...lol oh the decisions!!!!
I've done it - it's awesome but be careful driving home after such a long day with little sleep... - Mickey82  286.6 #888 9:49PM
We've done that.   Woke up on a Friday morning and decided to go.  Drove 6 hours from Mesa,  AZ and had a blast.  - MikeyMouse  92.5 #3498 7:57AM

I'm soooo excited we booked Disneyland for Thanksgiving :) Excited and nervous because I know it will be a mad house :/ Does anyone know if they do anything special on Thanksgiving? We are thinking of making dinner reservations somewhere. Any recommendations would be appreciated :) thanks!
BaseballMickey_CM just posted on 9/26 about all the special food that will be served on Thanksgiving in the park. If you type his name into the search field, it should be the first post listed. - debbiev  846.7 #186 10:47AM

Opinions needed...I'm trying to figure out a way to display all of our ears but still make them easily accessible for our trips. What do you think of these hooks? Are they too noticeable? They will be displayed a lot nicer on the wall once I figure out the "hook" situation! Lol Thank you in advance :)
I would hang one long, wide ribbon and attach them to that using mini clothespins that won't show.  - Thumper13  395.2 #504 2:44PM
Great idea.  - happiestplace  105.5 #3312 4:31PM
I was thinking something like that, but I wanted to hang them scattered. Hooks we're the only things I could think of.  - MrsMinnie  49.0 #4403 8:46PM
I am not crafty but the hooks look clean. I noticed the ears and not the hooks. - RadiatorSprings4Ever  864.1 #181 4:10PM

I have a question about the WOC dining packages at Ariel's grotto... Does the package come with tickets to the WOC or do you get to watch it while dining? And if you do just get tickets, do you need to wait in line to get your seat? Thank you in advance :)
When we did our WOC dinner at the Winery they gave us something like a fast pass. We handed it to the CM and they led us to the front rows reserved for the WOC dinner passes. You will get wet and feel some heat but we had a blast.  - DeadliestPassholder  196.1 #1924 11:29AM
You get a fastpass. Dinner is before the show. You have "reserved" general seating similar to people with the Fastpasses but a little more centered. Unless you want to eat at Ariel's Grotto, I personally feel getting a FP and arriving about 30-45 mins early to the show will get you good viewing. It's standing room only and try to get against the front rail of whatever section you can. - DLKenCA  1701.3 #77 11:37AM

So my husband and I are taking a road trip down to San Diego and are thinking of making a pit stop to Disneyland! We would get there around 12pm, so I'm thinking a 1 day park hopper might be a waste. So if you only had 1 day in Disneyland, which park would you choose???? It's such a hard decision 😣
Disneyland would be my choice. You could go to Uva Bar in Downtown Disney or Napa Rose bar or Hearthstone Lounge.  - DisneyGrandma  722.1 #222 6:34PM
That's true! Maybe even make a lunch reservation at the Blue Bayou ☺️ - MrsMinnie  49.0 #4403 10:29AM

Disneyland for sure. I'm doing a similar thing with my mama next month and I only bought tickets to the main park. - FoolishMortal138  326.0 #676 10:34AM
A number of years back I took my mother for just one day, and bought the park hoppers.  It was a bad decision.  We felt the need to race back and forth in order to see everything we wanted to see in both parks.  I'd just do Disneyland and save the hoppers for when you have more time! - msdizmaui  632.0 #269 3:30PM

Hi everyone! I need a recommendation. We will be in Disneyland for valentines day (yay!!) with 5 kids and 4 adults. What would be a great place to have dinner? Also we won't have a car so somewhere on Disney property or walking distance. Thank you!

Does anyone know if Disneyland does something special on Valentines day? I was thinking of taking the family on Valentines Day weekend? Thanks :)
Yes. In 2013 the resort celebrated True Love Week with special menus and events. Look at the Disney website in January for details about this years celebration.  - MelodyMouse  2883.1 #36 11:24AM
Usually the park is decorated (not as big as Christmas/Halloween), but its noticeable. Also, the princes join their princesses for photo ops. - BaseballMickey_CM  6238.5 #12 11:25AM
Including the above they also bring out the significant others of all of the characters lol. All of the princes come out to escort their princesses and Mickey, Minnie, Donald and daisy all stroll around together and pose together for pics.  - missariel33  1564.2 #84 9:55AM

When does Disneyland take down their Christmas decorations? I was thinking of surprising our kids a Disneyland trip as their Christmas present :) Also, how are the crowds a few days after New Years? I've been during Christmas and New Year's Eve and I probably won't do that again with kids :/ lol thanks for your input :)
I've found the crowds pretty light right afer new years. - madsdad  1800.8 #72 11:09AM
Not sure of the exact date, but they seem to take down the decorations around the second week in Jan. my husband's birthday is right around then, and in years past, the decorations have been removed for his b/day trip. Not sure about crowds, I would guess busy, but not NYE busy. New Years is on a Wednesday, so I would expect crowds through that weekend, then people will be back to work/school on the following Monday. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  544.7 #323 11:19AM
I've found the past couple of years we gone the 1st-5th it's been pretty busy. I usually forget to check which college football teams are playing the Rose Bowl and other bowls close to southern Cal. - Mepenguin16  168.4 #2288 11:55AM

Oh I'm afraid I can top that. I turned down a job in Hawaii because I can't be more than an hour from Disneyland. I need professional help, or at least that's what my husband says. :) - DeadliestPassholder  196.1 #1924 9:39AM
