So my husband and I are taking a road trip down to San Diego and are thinking of making a pit stop to Disneyland! We would get there around 12pm, so I'm thinking a 1 day park hopper might be a waste. So if you only had 1 day in Disneyland, which park would you choose???? It's such a hard decision 😣
Disneyland would be my choice. You could go to Uva Bar in Downtown Disney or Napa Rose bar or Hearthstone Lounge.  - DisneyGrandma  622.7 #263 6:34PM
That's true! Maybe even make a lunch reservation at the Blue Bayou ☺️ - MrsMinnie  38.0 #4681 10:29AM
Love them both, but if I only had a day... Disneyland! - BRabbit  466.2 #383 5:34PM
Agree! - debbiev  717.3 #204 5:36PM
Me too. - NurseDisney  29.7 #5162 5:40PM
Disneyland for sure. I'm doing a similar thing with my mama next month and I only bought tickets to the main park. - FoolishMortal138  315.7 #713 10:34AM
A number of years back I took my mother for just one day, and bought the park hoppers.  It was a bad decision.  We felt the need to race back and forth in order to see everything we wanted to see in both parks.  I'd just do Disneyland and save the hoppers for when you have more time! - msdizmaui  577.8 #284 3:30PM

I just noticed that BTMR is closed until march now :(
Yea :( Safety tests/checks take a very long time because they want to make sure everything is perfect for the re-opening!  We've waited this long so far, I guess another couple months won't TECHNICALLY kill us ;P - dethrizu  114.4 #3108 9:05AM

Hi everyone! I need a recommendation. We will be in Disneyland for valentines day (yay!!) with 5 kids and 4 adults. What would be a great place to have dinner? Also we won't have a car so somewhere on Disney property or walking distance. Thank you!
If you don't mind counter service go to the plaza in during fireworks one night.  - richiii3  190.1 #1957 2:36PM

Does anyone know if Disneyland does something special on Valentines day? I was thinking of taking the family on Valentines Day weekend? Thanks :)
Yes. In 2013 the resort celebrated True Love Week with special menus and events. Look at the Disney website in January for details about this years celebration.  - MelodyMouse  2681.2 #34 11:24AM
Usually the park is decorated (not as big as Christmas/Halloween), but its noticeable. Also, the princes join their princesses for photo ops. - BaseballMickey_CM  5728.6 #13 11:25AM
Including the above they also bring out the significant others of all of the characters lol. All of the princes come out to escort their princesses and Mickey, Minnie, Donald and daisy all stroll around together and pose together for pics.  - missariel33  1307.4 #93 9:55AM
I'm hoping to make it Valentines Week because my mini would love to see the princes.  - warchanted  107.1 #3236 10:18AM

When does Disneyland take down their Christmas decorations? I was thinking of surprising our kids a Disneyland trip as their Christmas present :) Also, how are the crowds a few days after New Years? I've been during Christmas and New Year's Eve and I probably won't do that again with kids :/ lol thanks for your input :)
I've found the crowds pretty light right afer new years. - madsdad  1800.7 #65 11:09AM
Not sure of the exact date, but they seem to take down the decorations around the second week in Jan. my husband's birthday is right around then, and in years past, the decorations have been removed for his b/day trip. Not sure about crowds, I would guess busy, but not NYE busy. New Years is on a Wednesday, so I would expect crowds through that weekend, then people will be back to work/school on the following Monday. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  505.2 #344 11:19AM
I've found the past couple of years we gone the 1st-5th it's been pretty busy. I usually forget to check which college football teams are playing the Rose Bowl and other bowls close to southern Cal. - Mepenguin16  168.4 #2245 11:55AM

My husband and I always joke about moving down to Orange County so we can be close to Disneyland. Hahaha Has anyone ever made that move? I would love to do it one day :)
Oh I'm afraid I can top that. I turned down a job in Hawaii because I can't be more than an hour from Disneyland. I need professional help, or at least that's what my husband says. :) - DeadliestPassholder  171.0 #2216 9:39AM

Just an FYI they are cracking down BIG time of the fastpasses. We were 5 min late and he wasn't going to let us through. But the nice gentlemen he was he let us go. So make sure you get there in time ;)
This has been in place for months now and is clearly stated on the FP. - MrsSchnooks  2651.1 #35 1:25PM
They should allow for just a few mins late - hummer01  214.9 #1644 1:17PM
Yes I know that, but we were running from one end to the other with a party of 11 with 5 children so it was difficult. We were only 5 min late not like 2 hours. I understand and not complaining just throwing out an FYI. - MrsMinnie  38.0 #4681 3:15PM
I thought you could show up 5 minutes early and 15 minutes late - Ry-Ry  74.5 #3694 3:27PM
Defiantly not early. And forget trying to show them your cell phone for the time, they go off the clock at the attraction fastpass entrance. - GoofyMom77  468.6 #381 3:28PM
^^^this. I noticed during one visit when we were trying to get new fastpasses, my son's time was way off from mine. The first CM at the distribution area said we only had a two minute wait. Two mins passed and I still couldn't get one for him. The CM that took over for her said we still had five minutes. Times are not in sync there. - Lelundrial  439.5 #417 3:47PM

I'm trying to remember when they do Mickey's Halloween party... Do they usually do it on Friday or Saturday nights? I'm trying to book our timeshare ahead of time. Thanks :)
Usually Tuesdays and Fridays. It also depends on when Halloween is this year. - IDVandalSkipperCM  2015.2 #53 9:24AM
The parties were very popular last year so I'm curious if they'll add more this year. They will have a MHP on Halloween which is on a Thursday this year. - IDVandalSkipperCM  2015.2 #53 9:59AM
Thank you! We are planning on going early October. We had a blast last year and can't wait to go again :) - MrsMinnie  38.0 #4681 9:39AM
I have never done the Halloween party but am trying to make it this year! Should be a blast :) - lohofosho  784.4 #184 9:54AM
The decorations are cool, and since we went on a Tuesday rides were pretty much walk ons. I was such a goof, I was trying to take pics of the Mickey ghost balloon deco. I didn't pass the rope, and the CM tells me it was ok to pass it. "No you can pass through, this rope is for you." - Lelundrial  439.5 #417 10:37AM

Does anyone know if you can purchase merchandise over the phone from one of the shops in Disneyland?
Its called DeliverEARS. If you have a merch receipt from the park, there's an 800 number just below the bar code. If you have a description of the item helps out the CM and if you have the SKU number, its even more helpful - BaseballMickey_CM  5728.6 #13 1:42PM
