Thanks all!   Wow..  We've been very discouraged by crowds the last few "months" (years? Ha) and I have to say, even with the heat, today was an EXCELLENT day to be at Disneyland.  We rode every mountain within a couple hrs, practically walked onto a few rides (Matterhorn especially), and CA Studios (ok, DCA) was so very nice for the evening.  An excellent Anniv day! :-)    More...

I'm sure most you know this.... But that HUGE beast of a home was NOT Walt's home. ย His original home was a lot more humble. ย They saved only a tunnel and a couple bushes, that's it. ย "We" at the Carolwood Pacific Historical SS saved the backyard Barn and with the generous help of Diane Disney-Miller and the Broggie family (Michael and Sharon), the Barn was moved to 'Travel Town' train park at Griffith Park Los Angeles. ย  ย If you've never been there, please stop by! It's really cool. ย  I work with plastics myself and built the cover for Walt's workbench.. And it gave me goosebumps as I was helping protect Walt's handprints (in axel grease) and tools as he had them there. ย  Great project. ย ย As things are today, I still have a pile of original train track pieces (wood and rails) in a pile in my backyard. ย  ย We tried at one time to help the Barn by selling small token pieces of the track, but that only went for a small time. ย  Oh, strangely enough, that "pile" of track sits in Carlsbad here, far from Anaheim or the Carolwood property. ย In the end... ย In my opinion... It's a shame what they did with Walt's property, house AND neighbors house just to built that insane Estate. ย Then to "suggest" it even carries a resemblance to Walt's smaller home? ย Hmmm.. ย But, that's progress for ya. ย  ย By the way, Walt's train setup was a smaller scale, but to really be blown away, look up Ward Kimball's "Grizzly Flats" backyard train. ย I remember his neighbors just "loving it" when he did a steam up. ย Ha! ย  I'd been there only once, but quite impressive having a full-scale steam engine. ย  ย May they both rest in the Depot called Heaven. ย  8):-) ย  - imtigger  20.6 #6378 10:41AM

By the way.. In the photo is my Laura and I with Robert at the 2002 summer NFFC Convention. He loved to paint as a personal hobby and around this time his Son talked him into releasing some of his incredible art to the public. Thank you all. He truly will be missed. He didn't get out much in public the last 15 years, but it was great listening to his stories when we did see him. Oh and his brother Richard is SO funny. He cracks us up every time. Oh, another "little" story.... As most of you may know, "Feed the Birds" was Walts favorite song and he used to ask the Sherman Bros into his office on some Fridays when he was feeling a little down. The boys would come in and Walt would just say "play it boys" and they would of course and it always made Walt smile. SO... A few years back, on what would have been Walt Disney's 100th Bday, the Disney Co set up a piano near the then new Partners Statue in the Hub on Main St. So everyone was having free cake and enjoying the afternoon then Richard Sherman came out and sang "Feed the Birds" to Walt, right there in the Hub. I swear you could hear a pin drop. So as Richard is singing , you could tell he started choking up a bit, but he pressed on. After he was done he looked up at the statue and said, "Happy Birthday Walt..". and I swear, EVERYONE had tears in their eyes. For me, having been through a LOT of touching moments with Disney, this is THE moment I refer to when any asks me , "what is your favorite Disney moment ever?". Wow. I'm starting to tear up again. It was a very powerful moment that I'll never forget. :-) of the only time I've ever seen so many people openly cry at Disneyland ; - imtigger  20.6 #6378 3:57PM

Lelu... I respect your opinion.. I do, the place was uncomfortable, packed beyond words, etc.. And it was absolutely possible to find a bad time in all of that... However... None of us "looked" for trash, drunks, pot smoke or fights. 5 different groups of people and all agreed that you "could" find a bad time EASILY if you barely looked for it. But you could also say , ahhh .. What the hell,   More...

Yet again, just because you had a blast doesn't mean the person next to you did. I highly doubt anyone was looking to have something other then fun. Their experience is just as valid as your experience.

Who cares about the very few "bad kids" (get off my lawn!!) vs the thousands that appeared to have a great time there with a very weird, very packed, totally screwy park scenario. Heck I had a friend who was bummed after seeing how we made the best of it, while he and is girlfriend spent 2 hrs waiting to get a refund at City Hall! To each his/her own and again, sorry if you saw the bad there.. I just wanted to paint a different pic of the night. We agree to disagree. Or don't agree at all. Either way, I'm sure we can at least agree we still love that crazy little park. :-) - imtigger  20.6 #6378 3:56PM

Or one of us fine friends here can help... It's a "little" busier than typical off-season, but an excellent day today! Low crowds and blue skies! :-)

By the way, I call this my "White-Trash Theater" Ha. I have a "cheap" ($600 on Woot!) Optima 720p Projector that I have in our back room, projecting on a clean white bed sheet on the wall... and you'd actually be surprised how great it looks! 8):-)

Ha! Viewing party at Tigger's house!! You guys bring the Turkey Legs and Corn Dogs! ;-) BTW... For another size reference, of you can zoom in just below the projector image, you can see the dark outline of our Sony 55" LED 3D TV. Very high tech TV, but it's funny cause for movies we definately prefer the projector. Sheet on the wall and all. It just feels more like a theater "film". Sometimes 1080p and Blu-Ray shows "too" much detail, like makeup and cut-in effects. The 720p projector truly softens movies perfectly. Oh, and it's great for the HoJo Mattercam too of course. ;-) - imtigger  20.6 #6378 3:53PM

Oh, and that's a glass coffee table reflecting at the bottom, and a workout machine (aka, a place to hang some laundry) on the left of screen there. Yup!! White-Trash Theater for sure! Ha!

Melody... I have the iPhone 4S that will "mirror" what's in the phone, but you can see video through the HDMI Adapter cable from most any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. There's adapters for HDMI and standard video. My projector doesn't have speakers (like most all of them) but not a problem... Just do audio out from the headphone jack, and video from the adapter cable. 8):-)

Ha! That reminds me of when I debated getting one for way too long. I'm the type that will do my research online and take WAY too long to decide on options and quality etc... and I DID do my homework regarding the throw, keystone, color, resolution, Lumens, etc.. I mean I was up to almost getting this $2300 projector, and took months of talking myself into then out of it I mean I thought not j  More...
