Just an FYI-DCA GC is being scheduled to help with Fantasmic since we work WOC. I personally have a shift on Monday 12/15 and I'm excited but nervous. I'm excited that I'll be working on the DL side doing a show I've never done before. I'm excited that I get to help fellow CMs with something that is new to them. I'm nervous because of all the push back and assumptions I'm hearing from everyone before this new system even starts. Disney is constantly looking to improve the guest experience, not make it worse. No one seems to like change but we all adapt quickly and things always seem to work out for the better. As Walt said himself, "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." I can tell you first had that every CM I know strives to preserve Walts vision, tradition and legacy daily. We do it because it's what makes Disneyland magical. Ok-I'm off my soap box, LOL  - CM_Tamstirr  551.6 #327 10:53PM

The only part that bit me in the butt was not having notice.  I let my passes expire two weeks ago since I knew I was not going until June.  The increase isn't huge, though, and it is still worth it to me even though I live in Texas and can only go a few times a year.   - Thumper13  431.1 #452 10:20AM
I am also upgrading mine to a premium for the discount but leaving my son's as deluxe.  I never go on the busy weekends so it doesn't make sense for both of us to get the premium. - Thumper13  431.1 #452 10:22AM
You should still be able to renew. Call guest services and ask. (I don't have the number).  - IDVandalSkipperCM  2280.1 #53 10:23AM
Really?! I am going to give them a call. Thanks! - Thumper13  431.1 #452 11:18AM
Annual passes should be even more considering how much entertainment you are given every time you walk through the gates.  Anyone who lives close to the park and goes fairly regularly are getting so much for their money.  This hurts the lower middle class family that saves for that one family vacation and every dollar counts.  Nobody in so cal should complain about the wonderful opportunity we have of living close and being able to use a pass.  They could raise the APs much more and it would still be a value.   - verolly  803.1 #200 12:26PM

πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ So many great memories of Fantasmic!  The first few summers of Fantasmic we took quite a few groups to DL just to see this amazing show. I would camp out starting at like 3 pm lol with my blanket and a book to save space. I don't know why I brought a book I always ended up people watching!  I loved sharing the show with our nieces, nephews (Teen Mickey!) , goddaughters and little friends. Every show I had a twinge of sadness that we would never have kids to share the show with. But I did love watching the show with kids and first timers. It was the best feeling ever. Flash forward a few years when our first miracle came along. I think I watched her watch the show the whole time. Crying of course. So grateful we had a daughter to share the magic with. Flash forward about eight years later when Lil One came along. She is obsessed with Fantasmic just like I am!  We have watched it twice in rain because we could!  Who cares about getting wet. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ any who thanks for the memories Duchess! - PrincessDuckie  788.8 #206 9:14AM

I rode this the first time in July 1977.  I had no idea what the ride was like, since I could not see it from the outside.  Grandpa needed someone to ride with him, so they told me it's like Small World.  So I went.  I about died!  Took a few more years before I rode it again.  Now it's one of my favorites.  And although Grandpa is no longer with us, I have an awesome memory of riding this attraction with him for our first time!  β€οΈβ€οΈ - AZDisney  610.2 #296 7:56AM

Even though I was still a kid when the original things were in place, I still remember them and was really upset when they changed them later. I've always thought that the political correctness and women's groups got in the way of the point that this is what pirates were actually like. You can't change history. And as a kid, I didn't know that the fat pirate was saying suggestive things - I just knew he was looking for that girl. I didn't even realize she was a teenager. Despite the fact that I loved the first Pirates movie,I liked the ride better without the movie tie ins for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is that now everyone assumes the ride was based on the movie and not the other way around. But I tend to like things the way Walt made them... - DisneyOnesie  617.3 #291 8:08AM
I love what you have to say about this and I couldn't agree more. There are certain things that cannot be sugar-coated, and I believe it's important to portray history as it actually was--not alter it to appease a group of people. There is ALWAYS going to be someone in society who gets offended by something. History isn't always pretty: learn from it and move forward, but don't deny or sugar-coat it. I miss the old POTC in this regard; adding Jack Sparrow is a plus, though 😊 - apesandmonkeys  7554.9 #7 8:46AM

It would be great to pull an all-nighter at the parks, but on Memorial Day weekend... No thanks! πŸ˜‰ I'll get vicarious pleasure from everyone's posts & pics, though 😊 - apesandmonkeys  7554.9 #7 7:55AM
@azdisney but what if the Beatles cover band was playing dressed like stormtroopers? - BeatleMike  567.9 #319 8:13AM
I think the biggest draw for me is the fact you can dress up! I went Labor Day weekend and it wasn't bad, but everything was blocked Sat and Sun. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  644.6 #269 8:16AM
@BeatleMike 😳 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜. Not telling him!  Actually he is the who will want to leave at like 11:30.  @HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper That would be fun, but I have a feeling it will be too much for me πŸ‘΅.  @apesandmonkeys and @DutchessSMK. Maybe when I was younger, but I need my beauty sleep. - AZDisney  610.2 #296 9:39AM
You don't have to do the 24 hours, and you still get to dress up, and the next three days could never seem as crowded so you will feel like you cheated the system... or something - BeatleMike  567.9 #319 10:42AM
It's okay though, no one needs to see me in a pink dress lol - BeatleMike  567.9 #319 10:44AM
Our family will be there that weekend because my daughter's high school band is going. I'm excited to see what special food offerings they have!  No way are we staying 24 hours though!  I will be happy to be up bright and early the next day and take advantage of the fact that everyone else is now home asleep!  πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - MeridaFan  3486.2 #30 11:03AM
Oh. And now I need to see BeatleMike in a pink dress!   - MeridaFan  3486.2 #30 11:04AM

You had me at Merida, that's a crazy costume! Ok now I might go just to see what you wear lol - BeatleMike  567.9 #319 1:48PM
Hey, JenGwen323!!! You will make a perfect Merida!!! How about the Redhead from POTC or The Bride from HM for your 3rd?!? - zenderella  408.9 #489 8:42AM
I do want to make the RedHead costume, but maybe for Halloween. I remembered that I wanted to make a Buzz Lightyear girl from the Pixar Parade. I have to take advantage of wearing costumes in DCA.  - JenGwen323  1454.6 #95 9:22AM
The Buzz Lightyear girl is a great idea!  It's such a cute costume!  I can't wait to see how they all turn out!  - zenderella  408.9 #489 9:47AM
You're fast. All i have so far is one accessory, and I'm not totally happy with it lol - BeatleMike  567.9 #319 10:37AM
Nikki, weren't you planning on footie PJs? I'm not done yet, but I've done some good thinking about them. - JenGwen323  1454.6 #95 2:03PM

Full Veterans Day Flag Retreat Ceremony #Video thanks to missmimi90! This is a 21min video that covers the entire ceremony. It's extremely difficult to take a 21min video with your phone. The time, data, and battery to upload something like this is staggering. Thank you missmimi for taking the time to do this for the entire community. We appreciate it, and we appreciate our Veterans!

Thank you very much missmimi90 for giving us this gift. I watched the entire video through tears. This was a very touching ceremony.  - DisneyGrandma  799.0 #203 2:48PM
I was teary eyed during this. Especially during the lowering of the flag and Ernie's speech. I am glad I was able to capture this for other MWers who could not attend the ceremony. GRAND CALIFORNIAN ROOM RATE for the MouseWait Birthday Bash Weekend Oct 19-21! The Disneyland Resort has always been good to the MouseWait Community and they have done it again by giving us a room rate at the Grand Californian for our birthday weekend of $249+tax (normal rate that weekend is $460+tax). Please stop asking about the less than 100 MW Points. There is a good reason for this because for the previous 3 room blocks 99% of the people that flaked had low MW points. In this situation MW would end up having to pay for the rooms people flaked on. - Dahulagirl  1054.9 #150 1:37PM
