I am a Stage Technician Cast Member at the Disneyland Resort, and a huge Disney fan. My beautiful wife, Christi, and little Princess, Caillean, are Disney fans too, and we all LOVE to go as much as possible!!!!
Hello all! It's been a while since my last post. :-) I've been SUPER busy with Traditions, Our California Story, Welcome to Entertainment, OJT (On the Job Training), and working overnight maintenance on WOC. WHEW! So far, I am LOVING it! This job is all I dreamed it would be! I hope you all have been doing well, and have a fantastic evening! :-)
Well, I have now completed my three days of Orientation, beginning with Traditions on Friday, then Our California Story on Saturday, finishing up with Welcome to Entertainment today. I have my On the Job Training schedule, and when that is done, I am getting trained on working World of Color!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!
Good morning MW family! I just had to share that the count down is on! I am only 9 days away from "Traditions" and officially becoming a Disneyland Resort Stage Technician! :-D YAY!!!! Everyone have a magical day!!!!
Exciting news! As some of you may remember, back in January I applied for my dream job since I was 12 years old, to work in Disneyland's Tech Services Department, and I GOT IT!!!! I got the call today and I start on July 20th!!!! SO HAPPY!!!! I HAD to share with my MW family!!!! :-D
Hello all! :-)
Long time no post, I know. I'm kind of a slacker when it comes to this. I tend to read more often than not, and I forget about my phone when I'm at the parks. *blush*
Anyway, I wanted to share with you all some potentially GREAT news! I got a call from DL, the Tech Coordinator that does the hiring for DL Tech Services, and he said that they are going to be doing another hiring More...
I think my interviews went well, feel like I knocked them out of the park. Noe, to wait and see if I really did. If so, I should be hearing by the end of the week whether or not I am a new DL Tech Services Cast Member. Thank you all for your support and well wishes. We're almost there! :-)
Hello MWers, how's everyone doing? I just wanted to post and say "Hi". It's been a while for me. :-) Also, I'm pretty nervous, I have two interviews tomorrow for my dream job with DL Tech Services. I REALLY want this job. Sorry to take up space. I hope everyone is happy and healthy. Have a magical day! :-)
SO EXCITED!!!! I just HAD to tell my MW Family about this!!!! I have passed the online interview, and now have my in person interview on April 17th for a job in the Tech Services Department at DL!!!! This is my dream job since I was 12!!!! I had to tell you guys!!!! SO HAPPY!!!!
The waiting for my interview call for the Tech Services job at DL is killing me. I've gotten past the first step, the Skills Assessment Sheet, and I've got LOTS of folks pulling for me, even a guy that is pretty high up working in my behalf. I SO want this job. It's been my dream since I was 12 years old. Sorry for the random freak out. Just needed to get it out of my head, and the MW family is al More...
Hello MouseWait family. It's been awhile since I posted, but I've been checking in. :-) This post is more to get some nervous energy out, but also to put it out there for some support (prayers, good vibes, positive energy, etc...) and maybe some more tangible help.
As I've mentioned on here before, I am a theatrical lighting technician, and have always wanted to join the ranks at DL. Well, the More...
Hello all! Been a while since I said "Hi". I'm super excited! I got a new phone and can now do all the stuff on the Android version of MW, and my wife has finally joined the MouseWait Family!!!! Her name on here is ChristiMonson!!!!
I found this pretty interesting. Yesterday (November 3rd, 2011) the Disney Parks Blog posted an article about a house on property at Disneyland that was actually lived in after the park opened, and not by Walt and Family. Like I said, I found it interesting and I thought I'd share it with all of you. http://tinyurl.com/3gmz7r2
This is MrMOMzers wonderful picture with a little magic added! We've been beta testing the MouseWait Advanced Composer for awhile now. This allows approved MWers to create their own "column" in the Lounge with expanded posts, pics, and videos inside the post. We are ready to open this feature up to more people who are intersted in having their own MouseWait Column in the Lounge. Your posts could be featured on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ and seen by our 100,000+ strong social media audience!
This feature is best used for instructional posts, history posts (like Duchess_SMK's column), and for reporting news (i.e. BaseballMickey_CM's posts). You could also do this to create a post describing your recent visit to the Parks with multiple pictures, videos, and more--think of it like an article that would appear in a magazine. The Advanced Composer only works on the web version. GO HERE TO APPLY and watch your email for more info (make sure you're email client is not blocking our emails or sending them to Spam--for some reason icloud.com, me.com, and mac.com will not allow our messages to come through.)
Thank you to everyone who strives to add quality content to the Lounge! Thanks again to MrMOMzers for the amazing picture!
Mr. Disney was one of five children, four boys and a girl. He was the fourth born Disney son. He was named after his parents pastor and friend Walter Parr, a preacher at St. Paul Congregational Church. The pastor, in turn, will later name his son Elias, after Walt's father.
Most of Walt's childhood was spent on a farm in Marceline, Missouri, where he began drawing, painting and selling pictures to neighbors and family friends. In 1911, the family moved to Kansas City, where his love for trains really developed. His Uncle, Mike Martin, was a train Engineer who worked on the route between Fort Madison, Iowa, and Marceline. Walt would later work a summer job with the railroad, selling newspapers and snacks to the travelers. To read more about Walts love for trains

To watch a short biography of Walts life:
Walt and Lillian Disney with unnamed friend, London, 1935.
Walt Disney in my opinion, is a wonderful example of the American dream! He represents: imagination, optimism, creation, and self-made success in the American tradition. He brought us closer to the future, while telling us of the past, it is certain, Walt Disney was a great man! He and his brother Roy co-founded Walt Disney Productions, which became one of the best-known motion-picture production companies in the world! Disney was an innovative animator and created the cartoon characters we all love to watch today. :) He won 22 Academy Awards during his lifetime, and was the founder of the magical playgrounds that ties us all together, Disneyland and Disney World. Had he been alive today he would be 112 years old! Happy birthday Walt! Thank you so much for believing in your dreams! You are a true inspiration.
In honor of today, it would be fun if we all mentioned our favorite quote from Mr. Disney. I'll go first, I have many, but this one always sticks out:
"I've always been interested in the past and history and I think it's vital."
Thanks for reading and watching! Hope you all have a terrific Thursday!
