Throwback Thursday has kind of been an unofficial thing here on MW that has trickled over from IG. Before, Admin used to have themed days in the Lounge like Attraction picture days, Character picture day, CM day, and Retro day. Like all pictures, if its Disney related and brings quality to the Lounge, then feel free to post it.
For clarification- the $90 will cover both days of event, and will be your ticket to the trading area, the store and more. More info will be announced and more pictures of the merchandise will be announced at a later date.
A few months after opening, I ran into the Imagineer, Michel den Dulk in the area at night, just taking pictures and taking it all in. I spoke with him for a few minutes and thanked him for his work. I think he was a little surprised that somebody noticed him, but he was very thankful. And I still haven't tried anything from the cart...
Hi I'll chime in here- over the past 3 years, I've been able to work with some of the nicest people I've ever met. They really become your family because you do spend a lot of time with them, but also, we look after each other. When you first start, it may be a little overwhelming, but once you start finding your niche and getting to know your role better, it becomes so much fun. I come home every More...
If you look up the opening date, you'll notice it says it opened at DL in 1966 (which isn't 50 years until 2016). This 50th anniversary is celebrating the opening date when it opened at the 1964 New York City World's Fair.
A personal favorite is the beautifully hand crafted music box
A fun video from 2013, the story behind the music box with Clopin, Figaro and the even watch the Tangled Tower being put into the Fantasy Faire:
Of course, no trip to the Fantasy Faire would be complete without a visit to the Royal Hall. Loved this artist rendition, that's just how my girls are when they enter the Hall. ::sigh::
Took this next part directly from Disney Parks Blog:
“After walking into our main entrance, you will first go through a garden-like setting before entering the reception hall,” said Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director of Fantasy Faire for Walt Disney Imagineering. “Once inside the Royal Hall, guests will discover a beautiful gothic interior with nice wallpaper, wall cresting, wood finishes and chandeliers.”
Passing through a series of spaces, including the Grand Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to meet as many as three Disney princesses, from classic stories such as “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty.”
Dont forget to grab a sweet treat from Maurice's Treats! At the time, (isn't there more now?) the adorable cart featured 3 “Twists” and a new signature beverage: Boysen Apple Freeze.
In a tribute to the historic Carnation Plaza Gardens, a shield over the archway leading from Fantasy Faire to Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland displays the letters “CPG.”
