Hey Guys, What's the best way to report a cast member going above and beyond? I'll save you all the story but I just had a merchandise lead at Aulani really come through for me. I thanked her but I'd like to let the management team there know what an amazing job she did.

Oh my gosh!  The perfect way to let them now how awesome your CM was, is to go to city hall and make sure you wrote down their name, place they are from, where they where and what time it was! - PrincessDaisy_FU2Rcm  350.2 #692 4:00PM
The CM will receive an award in front of fellow CM's from their team lead! It's a BIG deal!πŸ˜‰ - PrincessDaisy_FU2Rcm  350.2 #692 4:02PM
That is a great way in the Parks but Danierob is at the Aulani. For that reason, I would go up to the front desk and find out who the manager is and where you can report your kudos πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ - misschurro...  7130.1 #14 4:19PM
😳😊oops! We have also left them online in the contact us form. Just specify the same info as above!(*walks off blushing) - PrincessDaisy_FU2Rcm  350.2 #692 4:32PM
If you are still there go to front desk and ask manager. There is also probably a "contact us" on the Aulani web site. There you can give your full story. - DLKenCA  2728.7 #51 7:13PM
Hey Guys.  I wanted to update you guys that I did send a email to Aulani to report the amazing service I got.  About two days later I got another email from one of the managers at the resort thanking me and letting me know that she couldn't wait to give the cast member some love.  Thanks for the advice everyone.  I'm so glad Disney appreciates their Cast Members.  Really they are the heart and soul of Walt's creation!   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 12:07AM
Thanks Guys!  Sadly I'm back home in the NW, love to feel that warm sun again soon!  I'll reach out via the Aulani website.  I really want to give her props for her amazing service.   I know it's embedded in the Disney DNA but sometimes you must recognize great service.  I'd love to know that the resorts do a similar award as the parks.   She definitely deserves one!   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 11:38PM

Well we made it home. Sad to leave Hawaii but so thankful for a fun trip. Thanks for all your comments and likes. As we were leaving the airport I came across this sign that actually explains a lot. A few of you mentioned that Chip&Dale, Donald never wear pants. I think I figured it out. They must be Hawaiian. As you can see from the sign below, they're optional in Hawaii. Mahalo! πŸ˜‰

varela2892, Aulani is a beautiful property.  The grounds are amazing.  My kids are 6 and 10, and they LOVED the water slides/beach.  There is something for all ages there.  I have some issues with the resort, but as long as it doesn't rain when you are there, it will be great.  I hope by June, if it rains, there will be better practices in place to make your trip more magical.   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 8:54AM

Hawaii Stitch is awesome! The kids loved him but all of us were wondering where Lilo is? It's a shame she's not here with him. I've seen photos of her in Florida, they need to bring her here. Side note, Duffy came out and the place went bonkers. Even my kids went nuts, and they never have cared before.

For any Aulani fans out there I got some info today on the pin situation here. So basically they don't do any of their own ordering here at Aulani. I was told that it's all handled out of WDW. They told me don't know what's coming till it arrives, and when they open the box, it's a surprise to them too. They sell very quickly here, there's only one main store that sells them. The cast members   More...

Yes aulani is mostly a store with only aulani items. Not really a disney theme park items. One thing they have park items are the pandora charms in another store near the stairs. - islandgirl58  461.6 #19 1:25AM
Every year since aulani came up they had a anniversary pin, which thst goes out really fast.  The pins in the picture can only be found at aulani, and not in any other parks. - islandgirl58  461.6 #19 1:27AM
Also by the pool area there is a small store as well. - islandgirl58  461.6 #19 1:29AM
I keep hoping for a cd of the elevator music. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  690.8 #291 8:17AM

islandgirl58 Yeah, I knew about that one, but I want the Disney music in Hawaiian. Pandora also has an Disney Aulani station now too. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  690.8 #291 1:20PM

Day three in the books. Pretty bummed that the nighttime activities have been cancelled every night we've been here. From what it sounds like, it might stay that way for the next few weeks. The kids love the water so they are having the best time. Some highlights today included the animation cell painting, the whole family loved it!, and stitch's goo at Aunties house.

We, been having really bad weather these past few days. Especially since it's hurricane season.  Might be more rain tomorrow,  amd few, days, after due to a possible storm coming our way - islandgirl58  461.6 #19 1:14AM

Hey guys. Need some advice. At Aulani, going to do the Disney vacation club meeting in the morning. Is it a good deal? We live in Portland, go to the parks between once every year or two but might be able to go more. I'd love some honest info. Thank you all!!

We did the presentation there and decided no. If you want to join I would look at resale market first. The annual fees were also a lot. You only break even after 10 years. So unless you know you want a Disney vacation for next 40 years, you could limit yourself.  But I know people that I've then and love them. - DLKenCA  2728.7 #51 6:02PM
If you decide to buy, really think about how many points you will need. We didn't get enough for us, and buying more is super expensive. Also, if you plan to go to the Grand at DLR, the number of vacation club villas is very small and it is hard to get reservations there.  - cinderelli  393.5 #585 7:12PM
Thanks for asking about. Always been curious myself. Appreciate all the good feedback provided! - redsoxcarlos  2995.0 #47 9:21PM
My husband and I Dvc members at the grand Californian if you are wanting to travel to Disneyland at this time Dvc isn't worth it because there's no more availability at the grand and there are only 48 units so pretty much those of us who have membership there who can book at 11 months out take me up all the spots with every other resort that's not your home resort you book at 7 months in Florida the resorts have more rooms and there are more choices - disneychu  160.4 #2598 10:27PM

First day at Aulani almost in the books. This unexpected tropical depression or whatever they are calling it might be putting a little damper on our trip here. Tonight's show was cancelled and the forecast is looking really wet for the next three days. Hoping it doesn't rain out the movie on the beach tomorrow night!

Oh yes, this weather has been a disaster. Luckily, it should get better instead of worse, and it's still plenty hot enough to swim. I always feel bad for people who are visiting in icky weather like this. It looks like you had a great day though! - DarthTinkerbell  834.4 #224 11:55PM

Question for all you MW's in Hawaii.  We are Aulani bound in two weeks.  I'm trying to find my 6 yo daughter a Lilo and Stitch t shirt.  I can't find any at the disneystore.  Do they have them at the disney store in Hawaii, Ala Moana Mall I believe?  If not I know I could order from Red Bubble, but they are kinda pricey.  Ideas??

@darthtinkerbell. She might be able to help. I just got back. I know they had a LOT more Lilo & Stitch stuff there. I can't remember if they had a shirt. You could probably look up their number online and call them. I know they do ship from the stores.  I'll also warn you Aulani is probably 45 minutes from the hotel and you will need to rent a car of pay $30 for a shuttle there (per person).  Have fun! - DLKenCA  2728.7 #51 3:30PM
You got all that info down straight DLKenCA. πŸ˜ƒ I also can't remember if they have a Lilo and Stitch shirt at the Disney store, and I was just shopping at the Aulani yesterday and did not see one there at all. We see Stitch every where here, but not so much Lilo. It's kinda weird. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the island. I'm always happy to help.🌺 - DarthTinkerbell  834.4 #224 11:50PM
Depending on her size hot topic has lots of Lilo and stitch right now I know six-year-old can vary greatly in size I teach first grade and some of my students were almost as tall as I am - disneychu  160.4 #2598 4:46PM
Yeah, she is really petite.  She wears a 6. My son can wear the xs from there and my daughter is so frustrated that she can't.   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 11:19PM
Thank you, DLKenCA   I'll give them a call and see what they have.  How was your stay?  We can't wait.  Breaking the trip up into two segments, a week doing North Shore, Diamond Head and other island trips, all with a car, and then the second week at Aulani doing nothing but relaxing and taking it all in.    - Danierob  82.2 #3970 4:25PM
Lots of fun. Get down EARLY (7-8am) to reserve your chairs by the pool. Get wristbands. Also look to do the inside and outside scavenger hunts they have with the iPads. If you plan on using Auntie's Beach House, sign up early and an "off hour". Otherwise the line is busy first thing in the AM.  They have mugs about $19 that are refillable the entire trip (so get early).  Those were a few things we learned. - DLKenCA  2728.7 #51 4:36PM
Have you tried Hot Topic or Red Bubble? - OhanaPhoto  6283.3 #20 8:45AM

Hey Everyone,We just booked our first trip to Aulani in August.  We're really excited to take it all in but I'd love to get some tips or advice from any fellow Mousewait(ers) who have visited the resort before. Tell me your hidden gems or can't miss activities. Also, I'll be on the lookout for some cool RAK's to offer up.  Let me know if there is anything special that you would love  More...

@DarthTinkerbell Lives nearby, I bet she has some good tips.  Many others have visited--hopefully they will see this and chime in!  Have fun! 🌺 I just love to see everything Aulani, so pics of whatever you find interesting is great with me.  Hawaii holds a special place in my heart πŸ’– - Spoonful_O_Sugar  622.1 #337 10:20AM
Thanks for the response!  You got it, I'll post tons of pics.  Hopefully my service is better on a tiny island in the middle of the pacific ocean than it is within the parks, :)   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 10:23AM
Oh my goodness, you will LOVE staying at the Aulani! The resort is absolutely beautiful, and the nearby beaches are perfect for lounging around, snorkeling, or even paddle boarding. My number one suggestion to you would be to make sure you have a rental car during your stay on the island. As beautiful and relaxing as the Aulani is, there is so much more to Hawaii that you need to experience. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions at all, as I'm more than happy to help. I only live about 10-15 minutes away from the Aulani, and most of my weekends are spent at the beach over there, so I just might pop in to say hi and have a shave ice while you are visiting. - DarthTinkerbell  834.4 #224 11:41AM
Does public transport not go by Aulani? - Lelundrial  687.7 #294 12:06PM
I know there is a shuttle that will take you to and from the Aulani, but as far as I know, there is not a safe and nearby bus stop for people to get in to the Ko'Olina area.  - DarthTinkerbell  834.4 #224 12:12PM
Thank you so much DarthTinkerbell!  We are actually staying 5 days in Waikiki and then 4 nights at Aulani.  We wanted to break up the trip to have the city/island time to explore, then 4 full days at Aulani to relax and enjoy the resort.  We will have a car for the first half.   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 2:12PM
Well that stinks. I know how to drive, but I am still a very new driver because I don't get a chance to drive. I am not comfortable renting a car. Guess we would be taxing it. - Lelundrial  687.7 #294 6:41PM
Lelundrial It is my understanding that the resorts don't really want the bus to come in the area. There are shuttles that come in and out, and I know the Aulani also does car rentals as well. I don't know if it helps, but driving is pretty easy here. Our max speed limit is 60 on the freeway, and most of us live on island time so we are a little slower. There are taxi's out there too though.  - DarthTinkerbell  834.4 #224 6:45PM
Lelundrial Things are much slower paced there. In fact, they have signs stating the MINIMUM speed limit.πŸ˜€πŸ˜‚ 😎 island time, brah - misschurro...  7130.1 #14 6:58PM
I love island time.  Life is good 🌺😎 - Spoonful_O_Sugar  622.1 #337 7:08PM
There is a minimum speed? We are really torn on what to do next year. Celebrations London, Disney Dream, or Aulani? I want my apprentice to see the lab I was created in, and the doorstep I was left on. Then the Dream is adding all this Star Wars stuff. - Lelundrial  687.7 #294 10:08AM
I grew up on the island, and got to visit the resort a few times! It is a beautiful resort, and is very relaxing. The pool area is super fun, and if you look hard enough, theres little secret areas to find! Nearby, there is a golf course, Paradise Cove luau, and lots of beach access in multiple lagoons. It really is a quiet and beautiful area of the island. I agree that it might be smart to rent a car, as there are numerous other things to visit (Pearl Harbor, Hiking Diamond Head, visiting North Shore, etc). Have so much fun though! It will be a blast! - RylieFoundNemo1227  69.0 #4260 10:08AM
Thank you everyone for the tips/advice.  We can't wait for August.  I was hoping that there would be an Aulani Starbucks mug but they don't have those.  I was so bummed, a month or so after we left the parks they debuted the new mugs.  I want to add those to our collection.   - Danierob  82.2 #3970 2:48PM
